Food and drinks are definitely overpriced for the quality. Ambiance was okay but a little too dark for my liking. My husband had to use his phone flashlight to see the menu and bill. Our waitress was nice. They got my order wrong so I had to wait for my green bean casserole to come out later than my entree. And the casserole was basically like they threw green beans in mushroom soup and sprinkled onion rings over it. Had high hopes for this place but doubt we will be going back.

Once you walk into the hotel it opens up and surprises you. The bar is massive and would be great for locals. The courtyard is welcoming and easy yo see myself relaxing in. Now Lazo, this is a hidden gem. The restaurant is small and intimate, the food is well prepared and the staff is professional.

WOW what an experience. The service is was impeccable!! I enjoyed Francisco service. I ordered the cloud nine and it was spot on sweet & Spicy. The hotel was really neat they had live music and it was prime rib night that was different and pretty cool thing I will be coming back

The amazing experience started with a very welcoming host (who is the manager), to the server, to the chef & kitchen staff. I cannot say enough good things. The food was fantastic. The red snapper is perfect. The short rib is tasty. The tenderloin melts un one’s mouth. Will be coming back.

I came for dinner to Lazo for the 1st time during Culinaria Restaurant week. I arrived before the tables were finished being set up (early bird). In the meantime I took a stroll of the hotel while I waited for my table. The hotel is beautiful, with a touch of Spaniard architecture. I was called to my table by a server who was extremely friendly. She went above and beyond to provide me with outstanding service, exceptionally attentive. I ordered from the Culinaria Week Menu. Each dish was a piece of art (beautifully plated on a soft white canvas), well at least for ME. Starting with Don Strange Family Bread, the lamb chops with Dijon Gelato, the Boudoux braised short ribs (a bit too much bourdoux for my taste tho) and the grilled pound cake with that hint of charred flavor. I paired my meal with a dirty gin martini...absolutely smooth! Besides that, the combination of flavors and textures alone had my mouth overjoyed!! Everything was delicious!! Overall, my dinner experience was exceptional!! My compliments to the chef! I will certainly be coming back again for another treat! Come check them out for yourself!!

We went to have dinner with another couple and were excited to try the food. We were turned on to this place after looking at the Culinaria restaurant listings. I had the pan seared HEB which was tasty but unfortunately I was the only one at the table that was satisfied with their food. My girlfriend had the short ribs that didn’t sit well with her and caused stomach issue the rest of the night. The ribs looked like shredded pot roast and the sauce was flavorless. My friend’s steak looked like a random, thin piece of meat that tasted just okay at best. The whipped butter used for the bread is unsalted, which is fine if that’s what we were expecting, but it ended up leaving us underwhelmed. The pound cake dessert was also not satisfying. I’ve had better, tastier Sara Lee pound cake. We don’t intend on returning and would not recommend to our friends.

Service was great! Chairs were comfortable, but tables could have benefited from a table cloth. Watching people lounging outside around the pool did not create a since of elegant dinning. The cocktails were the best part of the meal. The quail was good, but the gravy had a distinct taste of flour. The red snapper was a little over cooked, but the sauce was flavorful. The wild mushrooms were good, but over salted. The $7 charge for the bread was unnecessary, considering that the bread and the honey butter was anything but special. The green beans were very undercooked. We appreciate al dente, but not raw.

It was great to get together with friends at this restaurant as it’s a nice place. The noise level was extremely high and it was hard to hear the waiter and each other. The food was ok the appetizers were far more delicious then the entrees. I dont believe I would go back but worth a try!

2 couples sharing anniversary dinner……as we have for 18 years. Food was very good as was the service. BUT the noise was so loud we couldn’t even talk. And for that reason I won’t be back.

Wonderful, creative food! Delicious seasonings and sauces. The chicken fried quail with jalepeno gravy was to die for, appetizer portion lamb chop crusted in pistachio, red snapper entree, and bread and butter were all incredible. The space is quite loud when it's crowded but the noise level became more bearable once a few tables left.

Food is acquired taste. Not bad at all but limited and the taste is acquired. It's different not bad at all but different. Something to try at least once but not really my taste when it comes to beef or lamb. One downfall was my drink order. When I order an old fashion please please don't water down my top shelf drink with crushed ice...

The bread opener was a little disappointing. I found it stale .Perhaps my expectations were too high ! Caesar salad was fantastic . Asked for pepper and was given a shaker and the pepper barely came out . Think that caliber of a restaurant should d have a pepper grinder. King Salmon was fabulous and my husband enjoyed his pork chop but would have preferred less salt. Service was timely and efficient . I will definitely return but perhaps bring my own pepper !!
