   Delicious Levantine cuisine in an attractive setting on the canal. Everything was excellent, the only gripe - the salad was a bit over dressed (oily), but nothing that a lighter touch with olive oil won't cure. Recommended!!

   Service was very poor and staff don’t really try to be available for customers, I have to ask them to clear the table, pour my own wine, walk to them to give them The bill and pay, etc. Food is very much tasteless, no salt, no seasoning and entrees somehow finish before Appetizers. Restaurant has no sealed water so if You don’t mind drinking tap water then you’re good.

   I’ve been to Layla a few times before and was so excited to go back because absolutely loved it. This time it was quite disappointing. I had the same dishes I’ve had before and they were subpar at best, plus they raised the prices from just a few months ago. I’m not sure if the kitchen team changed, or it was just a bad night, but I don’t plan on going back.

   Dinner was alright. Overall the ambiance was the best part. We were seated next to the water and all 8 of us at a couple of lounge tables for a birthday. The food was alright but the server kept reminding us about certain things that we were ordering, almost as if we didn't hear the first time or as if we've never been out to eat. Half of the table worked in the service industry so it was a bit much. He also put in two orders that we actually didn't request, he just overheard one person from our party ask amongst ourselves if we were interested and I was a little peeved that he took it upon himself to place the order for those two items without confirming. We also made it clear to our server and the hostess that we were celebrating a birthday, and we thought that without a doubt we would at least get a candle on our dessert to sing happy birthday to the person we were celebrating, especially since we mentioned it a couple of times. There were PLENTY of people at the table to sing happy birthday, so we DEFINITELY were NOT expecting the servers to come and do it for us, but a candle seemed to have been the obvious, yet ignored route here. This place is nice for a couple cocktails and a good vibe but the rest isn't exactly what I was expecting.

   Been here many times before and it’s changed quite a bit and not for the better. Atmosphere and service are still good but the downsized menu and wine list are showing. We had the lamb as we’ve had many times before and it seems a different dish. Gotta say I was not happy, go figure. Not sure what to say or do, things change I guess, pretty sure I won’t be back, that’s the saddest part.

   The ambience and food are amazing. Hidden oasis you can’t miss. Outside garden area is the way to go on a nice day but the inside is also lovely.

    The flavors are amazing and the ambience is so cute (sit outside). The portions are so small and the service was extremely slow and rude at times. Would love to come back if they increase the portions and improve the service.

    Tourist trap. Food was terrible, dry, tasteless. Drinks watered down . Place is cute, but nothing special. Wouldnt go back again ( to the restaurant atleast didnt see the rooftop bar)

    The restaurante is very nice, especially the little garden with a view of the canal, green foliage, low lights. Felt very nice and cozy. The service was very good, the waiters were very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the meals were disappointing, quite bland and they didn’t taste authentic Mediterranean.

    My spouse follows a vegan/vegetarian diet and Layla was a perfect stop while we were in Miami Beach. A couple blocks off Collins, it’s worth the effort to stray off the beaten path. If you like Mediterranean/Greek/Turkish this is a must stop.

    The place is very nice and the service was also good, but the flaming saganaki was over cooked and an extremely small portion; the manager did a good job. There were some additional charges added to our drinks that are questionable.

    First time at Layla and will likely go again. Great patio for cocktails or dinner with a nice chill vibe. Music is not blaring and allows for conversation but the music selection also fits the overall ambiance of the place. Only minor thing was our server who was a bit overbearing checking in way too many times….almost to the pint of rushing us to order, pay etc.

    Our first time at Layla and it came highly recommended from a friend. We had a reservation on the terrace, but unfortunately the tables to accommodate our 4 top were more of a lounge vibe. The hostess quickly accommodated us inside but bear the open terrace so we had the feeling of being outside. The service was great, and the we started with the mushrooms and the ricotta with honey on toast. The whole grilled branzino was the best I’ve had anywhere on South Beach! My husband lamb and orzo melted in his mouth… we really could have shared either of those entrees! Our friends had the fish and the Bahrain roasted cauliflower and they loved their entrees as well. Too stuffed for dessert. But a great experience and we will be back.

    Excellent food! One needs to know that the food is served as it is ready from the kitchen so not everyone is served at the same time. Ordering plates to be shared by everyone would be the best approach, if not, some are still waiting for their plates when others are finished eating. A couple of mistakes in the orders but nothing major. Noise level inside was particularly high when we were there, there was a live signer and musician. Difficult to hold a conversation during our meal.

    I called the number listed for Layla on OpenTable and Google to modify the reservation I made 8 times during their listed business hours and never reached a staff member. I eventually called the hotel that the restaurant is located in and was given another number to call, which took me to the same voicemail box that I’d reached the 8 other times I called. I was required to give a credit card number to make the reservation and was told that I’d incur a $25 charge per person if the reservation was missed or cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. We had to rush to the reservation in order to make it and avoid the charge because I couldn’t reach anyone to change the time. I shared this with the host when we arrived who said they’d look into it. The dining experience was nice. The food was very good. It comes out as it’s ready, so be prepared to eat at different times from the rest of your table. The decor was pretty and the live DJ was a nice touch.
