Located on the corner of 2nd and Guadalupe Streets in downtown Austin (a block away from Town Lake & Moody Theater), in a historic 1873 Victorian building once home to J.P. Schneider general store, Lamberts features modern Texas classics including expertly smoked barbecue, grilled prime steaks, simple yet elegant apps and mains, and homestyle sides. We are open daily for lunch and dinner.

The two-story dining room features an open kitchen, two bars (with one of the best whiskey selections in town) as well as an outdoor patio surrounding our Mill Scale smoker. The design includes black leather banquettes and repurposed sinker pine table tops. The vibe is laid-back Austin and not afraid to get a little rowdy at times—especially when there's live music Upstairs at Lamberts.

*If booking an outdoor table, please note that patio seating is weather contingent. During those times, we will do our best to accommodate indoor seating depending on availability.

    Cooks ignored modifications instruction and when they had to remake my food which was order to temp and done way under it took over 30 minutes to get it back. Lamberts burger used to be my favorite in austin but I would not purchase it again based on what I had during this experience. It’s $23 so it should be knocked out of the park every time someone orders it. Manager did comp, but getting free food unfortunately is not a factor when I choose to go out to eat and the meal turned out to be way longer than it should have been and was annoying when my gf was done with her food 1/2 an hour before mine came out. Server was ok but I did have to grab other servers to get her attention in order to tell her our issues with the food.

    AMAZING FOOD. Their cocktails and desserts never disappoint- the steak is the best thing on the menu, but everything is good here. Boar rib appetizer is a must-have.

    This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had!! Outstanding bbq, and the service was amazing as well. It was the best meal we had during our trip to Austin.

    A bit overrated restaurant. My main concern was the amount of food and specifically the meat. I ordered the combination bbq the most expensive item and what I got was practically one bone piece of ribs, one sausage and three thin slices brisket strips. They only had one bbq sauce where most places give you a choice.

    The music was so incredibly loud that the server even asked management to turn it down. It was denied. Our table of five had to yell at each other across the table. I won’t go back because of this. Too many other good BBQ places to check out in Austin.

    Celebrating an anniversary with my husband turned into some disappointment. Not being a big meat eater, I chose the Shrimp and Grits for my entree having never gone wrong here before with a seafood choice. It basically tasted like jalapeño and cilantro soup. It was too spicy to enjoy with no other flavors. (and I am a fan of spicy usually) Plus, being one of the most expensive items on the menu, I left feeling confused and unable to finish my food. This is usually a place we love to celebrate special occasions but we may have to find a new spot for that. What a bummer.

    Great building, but not so great service. They were not that busy but waited over 10 minutes before a server brought water. Then, the server took our silverware after our started but never brought a new set. Because it was so loud, we could not flag someone down to bring us a clean set for several minutes. The food was very good, but overpriced.

    I had a team lunch at Lamberts today and it was great! The service was phenomenal - super friendly and they gave lots of recommendations. My favorite appetizer was the queso. I think I'll dream about that queso tonight! For my main course, I chose a meat plate with brisket and ribs. Both meats were incredible. Definitely a great choice for upscale barbecue!

    I love the ambiance of this place and the service was super friendly and quick. I found the shrimp and grits to be on the oily side with a couple more jalapeños than needed but over all, it was a great experience.

    Not sure what happened tonight. Usually eat here every other week, always 5 stars. Tonight, I felt like I was eating at a concert. Music was super loud and had to get in conversation between songs. Mgr needs to put a little red line on the volume knob. Music selection was great but volume level was a fail. Im sure we will be back to 5 stars next week. Just keep the music to a nice chill vibe. Save the loud music for your live bands.

    The food, service and ambience was 5 stars. To loud to have a conversation and was very warm downstairs. I would definitely go back they served the dinner family style so everyone got a chance to try the food.

    No AC in June=uncomfortable. Sat downstairs, service was good. pickle spear appetizer was great, the ranch was tasty, but everything otherwise was so spicy… All seasoning on brisket & spare ribs was too spicy to enjoy although the meat was good. Jalapeños on burger I took off, chili pepper flakes added on the ranch made it spicy, moved those out of the way..peppers on the carrot “salad” burned my mouth. Everything was spicy!!
