We were three at a too-small table for large people. My beer was brought in just the bottle and not very cold, no cold glass was brought. My son ordered two more tortillas, and two flour tortillas were brought and charged $1.10 for two flour tortillas. He ordered the same as the one served with carnitas, corn tortillas. I also had carnitas, which should be called pulled pork because that is what it was. They tasted good. Black beans and supposedly salad served with it. The salad was only shreded lettuce . In my opinion $18.95 for carnitas is too much. My wife had Enchiladas Coloradas, it was excellent. We come quite often to The Palapa Too and this is the first time we were not 100% satisfied. We will coming because for the most part we like it very much.

Was happy to see a decent TexMex joint close to our home. Food was just okay, though. Salsa was very good, however. Meals need more seasoning to be true TexMex. Was very bland. I enjoyed the live music. Wait staff was attentive. Price was great. Just…season your food better. I’ve lived in San Antonio, TX. Kick the flavors up s notch.

I made a reservation four days ago for my daughter’s 17th birthday. Open Table confirmed the reservation with me yesterday. When the five of us arrived at the restaurant and let the hostesses know that we had a reservation, the two people at the hostess station were surprised and said that the restaurant had no dinner service planned for the evening. The restaurant was hosting a private party. We were told that our choice was to sit at the bar or find another restaurant for her birthday dinner. What was surprising was that the hostess (possible manager) was barely apologetic. We were offered a trite “Sorry, we forgot to turn off Open Table, there is nothing we can do, human error.” Not wanting to celebrate my daughter’s birthday bellied up to a crowded bar, we went to the new nearby Banditos. We had a lovely dinner. After many meals at La Palapa Too, Banditos will be our new go to place for Latin American food in Maple Lawn, given the horrible treatment we received this evening.

Had a work party on Thursday 12/22/22 with a few staff members that were let go. It a little loud in there because the entire restaurant is open. I would recommend that the wait staff do not come by every few minutes so we need to stop and say everything is good. But overall it is a very nice place. I do think you need to lower your lunch menu prices and maybe have drink specials during the lunch rush. Thanks and Merry Christmas!! Robin

Although not crowded, the selection of tables was limited. We were literally placed in the middle of the floor by the door. It was about 90 minutes before close but clearly they had started to clean up around us and the other diners. Likewise, we had to catch the attention of the waiters as they chatted at the hostess desk. The food was as expected and I was with my family so we didn’t make the fuss about where we sat or the service. If I had been with friends where I had made the recommendation, I would’ve been a lot more uncomfortable.

Shortly after we sat down we were given chips and two excellent salsas!! Some if us ordered dishes with their mole and we loved the mole. It has anexcellent flavor!! The service continued to be excellent throughout our stay!

First of all even though you can make reservations on Open Table for this restaurant, the information doesn’t register with the restaurant’s equipment. Fortunately, we were there early enough getting a table for 4 was no problem. My husband and I eat there or get carry out frequently. However, we rarely see the same servers or hostesses each time we visit. Our friends, whom we haven’t seen in over 3 years dined with us. Our server was patient up to a point since we were busy catching up rather than looking at our menus. The food was good as usual. The restaurant wasn’t busy so we continued to visit after we finished our meal. Once we paid, we were left alone. No offers to refill water or remove the soiled dishes. As ever place else in the restaurant business, it appeared the staff was stretched thin. We’ll continue to dine or get carry out from this restaurant because the quality of the food has been consistent.

We usually eat here at least 3 times a month. The food is good although chicken dishes are usually overcooked and can be dry. We enjoyed tamales, enchiladas, and chili rellenos. All were delicious. We split a pitcher of red Sangria. The noise level tends to get louder, especially with large parties present. But, we could still have a conversation.

A group of friends from work and myself went there. We were meeting to see one of our colleagues who had moved to England and was visiting. We had a great time. One person said that that was the best Mexican restaurant she’d ever been to and she is Latina. The ambience was great we were outside it was not too hot not too cold service was excellent. We switched tables about two times and they were very patient with us. I will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

We had a party of eight. The server was very nice and helpful. There were a few mistakes in the checks because of the number of people being divided into four checks. An empty glass of water was mistaken for a soft drink. The food was tasty, the salsa was spiced just right, meals were hot and prepared well and the two non-Mexican food lovers enjoyed their hamburgers. Also, the Margaritas were very good. There was a party going on in the next room that was filled with exuberant guests that made conversation at our table nearly impossible. A few of our guests made comments about not eating there again because of the noise volume. We would recommend La Palapa Too to friends who enjoy Mexican food and are not disturbed by exuberant customers having fun.

We've been to this restaurant 5 or 6 times and we enjoy it everytime. The good service and food keeps us coming back. The noise level was higher than usual but that's because it was Valentine's Day, so there were more patrons than normal on a weeknight. It was great to see the place booming with patrons that night.

The table was too small for our party and the service was really slow. The birthday celebration was really loud. It scared our 7 month old grandson. We were a bit disappointed this time.
