One of the great ambassadors of Mexican cuisine at an international level is named Aquiles Chávez Jiménez, since his work as a pioneer in gastronomic television has led him to tour much of Latin America, Europe and the United States.

For years, the specialized press and members of the gastronomic community have considered him one of the best cooks and chefs in the country.

Aquiles is a determining figure in dozens of gastronomy projects throughout Mexico. It has been presented at events such as: Millesime México, Paralelo Norte, El Saber del Sabor, Mesamérica Gastronomic Summit of Mexico, Morelia en Boca, Festival del Chocolate, Wine & Food Cancún-Riviera Maya, COME Jalisco. He has been a contestant and jury in the most important cooking competitions in the country: Young Mexican Chef and Chef of the Year. For the past two years, La Fishería by Aquiles Chavez has been named one of the 250 Great Restaurants in Mexico by Culinaria Mexicana.

    La Fisheria Quinta Avenida, Centro, Gonzalo Guerrero, 77710 Playa del Carmen, Q.R. Marisco Andrés Castañeda 160 puntos hace 4 días La comida está bien, no es espectacular, ni hay nada que te sorprenda. Cumple, está fresco, las porciones son correctas. Pero eso si, no esperes ninguna explosión de sabor, ningún alimento con el sazón Perfecto, nada que te haga regresar. Los platos están servidos sin cuidado, las tostadas de atún escurren en tu mano y si no te embarras con la salsa chipotle que se salía de las orillas (dos tostadas distintas habla que no fue una excepción), el pan es una baguette de supermercado calentada en la parrilla, duro y sin sabor, las tostadas y totopos no son caseros tampoco, la guarnición del pescado del día la sazonan mejor en el toks (no, en serio), y las bebidas sin chispa. Me querían vender una foto enmarcada en un pescadito de lo más corriente o pegada en un tequila como si hubieras venido al señor Frogs de Acapulco, y es de muy mal gusto recalcarte lo que debes dejar de propina en tu ticket, he comido toda la semana en la Riviera y me cae que los extranjeros no necesitan que se les indique cuanto deben dejar. Pero lo que más Gordo cae es que es un templo de adoración a Aquiles, su nombre está en todos lados y varias veces en los platillos del menú, fotos enmarcadas varias y en las pantallas todos los videos que puedas encontrar en internet de el. Venia con ganas de probar su firma en los platillos y me dieron ganas de no volver a ninguno de sus restaurantes. Por cierto, las tres estrellas son en referencia a la comida, y esta bonita reseña para que imagines la experiencia. Ahí te dejo la portada del menú y foto del pinche pan 😂

    The service was slow and terrible and the food was over cooked and cold. Not a place I would recommend. Truly disappointed.

    Chef Aquila’s selection was really excellent. It is a collection of 3 specials on one plate —grilled quajillo octopus with a potato wedge, habanero shrimps with pumpkin, and catch of chef Aquila with mashed capers and grilled veggies. It was visually interesting and wonderful tasting. My husband had the Catch of the Day grilled and it was very good too. We drove down to Playa del Carmen from Cancun. Since we didn't know much about the area, we relied on Open Table. We were very glad we went to Chef Aquila's restaurant.

    El restaurante estaba con poca gente a pesar de ser las 8:30 pm, en general la comida tenía poco sabor y preparado muy tipo fast food. Que no es lo que uno espera encontrar en un Restaurant de este tipo. Creo que que hay mucho mejores que este en la 5ta avenida de Playa del Carmen

    El servicio es mal, pocos meseros y la comida llega fría y no es tan buena como dicen la reseñas, dejo mucho que desear el concepto. Fastidia ver comerciales de Aquiles todo el tiempo. Es una restaurante o un show room.
