   My husband and I selected this restaurant because of its close proximity to the theater — there were 9 of us. We wanted to love it, but the service was lacking and the food was SO SALTY. We had been one other time and remember everyone saying the same thing about the food being salty. Beautiful restaurant and the cocktails were lovely.

   It was hard to get good service. The food was so-so…the duck was really dry and chewy, not good at all. My husband’s food was better although nothing really special. The worst part was the poor service. The staff was friendly but it was hard to get our requests dealt with in a timely manner so we could relax and enjoy our meal. They must be overstretched….for the price one would expect a better experience.

   The food wasn’t terrible but not really good either. The best part of the restaurant is the design!! I had been wanting to go there for a long time. I won’t go back - just not good enough nor French enough!

   Wanted to try this again under new management. Disappointing. Very expensive menus. Ordered French Onion soup and burger. The food was good. Service horrible. We ordered a baguette to go with our soup. It arrived after our soup was finished. Our soup bowls were left on our table for at least 10 minutes after were were done. Many people walked by including our server, and no one took the dishes. Consequently there was no room when the burgers arrived. Then we asked for mustard. We had to get up and tell a manager we had not gotten it. No excuses for such bad service. Also, they have added a tip for the kitchen on the bill. They explain it's up to you but really that's really tacky. Anyhow. We won't be back. Too many other places to try.

    Beautiful atmosphere. Wine list and appetizers always so good this time we had foie gras and oysters - were so delicious. Enjoyed the cheese plate for dessert.

    The mussels were amazing, the the trout lucked Flavour, the flank stake was chew and over priced for what you got, fries were called. Service was slow due to the amount of tables the server had. Beautiful restaurant though. I will return for maybe drinks and apps but not main course 🙂

    The service and drinks were absolutely amazing but my mom had order the steak and she ordered well done, when they brought it it was medium rare, they took it back and brought it again and it still wasn’t well done.

    we had a reservation but waited 45 minutes to be seated, food was adequate but not worth the price, the service was excellent and the wait-staff friendly but otherwise this was not an experience we'd repeat.

    Birthday. Daughters duck & onion soup were fabulous, my trout amandine was a bit dry, husbands steak was very good, but under cooked, dessert was great. Waitress nice but in the weeds, not much checking on us. Beautiful restaurant, nice table.

    We had reservations for the Mother's Day Brunch and had a later time. Once we arrived some of the menu items were no longer available and the buffet was a little disorganized. We were told that items would not be replaced.

    Mother’s Day brunch buffet was disappointing. There was not much variety on the food (mostly sweet food, pancakes, crepes, etc). We would have liked more savory for a late afternoon meal and for the high price. Much of the food was cold (ex: the pancakes) and they ran out of some items (ex: shrimp). Was not worth the price and probably won’t go back based on this experience. I think it’s a little over-hyped. Just ok in my opinion.

    We had gone for Mother’s Day brunch yesterday and we enjoyed it for the most part. We had reservations but waited a little while before we were seated but it was not bad at all. We had been meaning to try this place many of times but never made it for some reason or another. The brunch was decent. There were the pretty normal brunch items such as bacon, lemon ricotta pancakes, croissants, potatoes, prime rib, fruit, eggs etc. There was a raw bar that included oysters on the half shell, crab and I saw a sign for cocktail shrimp, however I did not see any of the shrimp cocktail. I wasn’t a big fan of the couple of desserts I tried. The prime rib and potatoes were decent but none of the food was really hot. The mimosa I ordered was good. We met a really nice couple seat next to is and had great conversation. Overall the ambience was great as we had expected, our waiter was good and the food was not decent but nothing too memorable. We had already planned on going back for dinner and at the end of our meal, the waiter gave us and his tables a $20-$25 gift card to return . I will definitely update once we return for dinner.

    First time at La Belle Helene, my husband made reservations at 11am for Mother’s Day brunch. Loved the decor of the restaurant, it was beautiful! Unfortunately that’s it for the positives. We saw the fixed menu, everything sounded delicious! So, we started the typical breakfast buffet, get in line, pick up your plate, etc. first chafing dish: eggs; empty with bits of morsels teasing me. Second was bacon and sausage; who doesn’t love a good applewood smoked bacon, right? Except when the bacon is soggy and greasy. The bacon and sausage had that pale color to it, not an appetizing presentation. The pancakes we literally crumbling when I tried to pick up with the serving tongs, which leads me to believe it’s been sitting in there drying out. I guess what I’m trying to say is La Belle Helene should have been ready for a BRUNCH BUFFET, there was plenty of staff, but no one was really paying attention to the food! Is there enough for the next service? Are the food drying out? There was a staff who was making sure all the chafing dishes had a working burner underneath, which makes me laugh! Who cares, if there’s nothing to serve? So I informed him about the food situation and he couldn’t have cared any less “I’ll let ‘em know” he says. Seafood was great! Stone crabs were delish and the shrimp and crab claws were good, and I was especially excited for the raw oysters! Except they only had a cocktail sauce, and that ruined it. Don’t even get me started on the meat, bland and bland. I’m happy to report that they gave us a $25 gift for Mother’s Day to use on our next visit. I’ll tell you what, I hope there’s a long expiration date for the gift card, because we are not going back for a long while.

    My friends and I went to La Belle Helene for prom, and made the reservation weeks in advance so that we could grab a bite and be fashionably late for the dance. Our table took awhile to get ready though which is understandable given it was prom night, but just a warning to others this isn’t a quick bite spot. Dinner took around an hour and a half, and was pleasant start to finish. The service was great, but again it was super busy so just be ready for that. Overall great experience, everyone’s food was amazing and the ambiance was incredible, we’ll definitely be back.

    What a disappointment. I took my 80 year old French mother for lunch here today for Mother’s Day. It appeared to be our waiters first day, on Earth. We had to lead the entire experience - hi, can we get some drinks, we would like to order our food. Not once did he stop by and he never , ever , asked us if we needed anything. We ordered the French pate each, and yet received a split plate, but paid for two??? Presentation was terrible and the pate had large chunks of lard. The $12 bread basket was the best part of the experience. Terrible service, mediocre food…. $72 later I was just sad that it wasn’t a worthy experience for her.

    Brunch until 3 pm is not understandable. I planned my graduation lunch at your restaurant. On the website if you go on menu you can see the normal dinner Menu with all the different stakes etc. On the website it didn’t jump in to my eyes that this was just the dinner menu. All my guest were pretty disappointed and I am sure I won’t come a second time. Waitress wears great though !

    The restaurant is beautiful but the food is just OK. However, the most notable part of any dining experience at La Belle Helene is the service. Without fail it is always remarkably slow. Depending on the server you will also be treated rudely and have at least one of you orders forgotten or completely messed up. I’ve dined here for brunch and dinner half a dozen times and have yet to receive anything but very bad service. I’ve given the restaurant a number of chances so I recommend that you do not.

    We dined with longtime friends in town for a visit. We were having trouble getting a reservation for a Friday night when I saw rare availability for Le Belle Helene. I had always wanted to try this restaurant and the stars must have aligned because everything was absolutely wonderful! Our server Jewel(sp?) was very knowledgeable about how the dishes were prepared-very impressive! First, we all started with the Lyonnaise salad-clean plates and smiles all around. The hubbys had the Salmon and the Crispy Duck Confit with melted leeks. Comments-"My salmon is cooked perfectly and the sauce is delicious"; "Oh my God-this is phenomenal!"-then came a forkful of the melted leeks for me to try...Sublime! The girls both had the Beef Bourguignon-absolutely divine! We shared two desserts-the dessert feature-a strawberry rhubarb shortcake type and the "elevated Snickers Bar'-both were delicious and not a crumb was left! The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the noise level was comfortable. There was no valet that evening due to 4-5K Twilight Run through the city but we were able to find parking across the street in the Marriott garage. The restroom situation is....unique/unusual but absolutely turned out fine-you'll have to experience it yourself-and no, there is nothing to be afraid of. Dining at Le Belle Helene was an exquisite experience and my hubby and I will definitely be back!

    Went here for my bachelorette dinner & had the best time. Our server (Hunter) was AMAZING! Everyone who works here that we had an interaction with was so kind. Food was phenomenal as well. 10000/10 would recommend to anyone and would go back :)
