   Drinks were absolutely delightful albeit a little pricey but everything is made from scratch! The food was also delicious. One would not even know it is all vegan if not told in advance. Will happily go back!

   It’s wonderful to have a vegan, creative Mexican restaurant. The food and drinks looked gorgeous and artful and tasted flavorful and balanced. Our servers were warm, professional and helpful. The only negative was our table. We got stuck at the very back of the restaurant near a serving station. It was dark, cramped and we felt like we didn’t get a chance to experience the environment of the restaurant at all. Having made a reservation well in advance for a celebratory night out with friends, it was disappointing to end up at such a poor table.

   The food, service, and ambiance were phenomenal. My partner and I experienced so many new flavors and textures, each one as delicious as the last. We came to La Bartola to celebrate our anniversary, and every staff member wished us a happy anniversary. We'll definitely be back!

    This is a fabulous vegan Mexican restaurant. The guacamole and hibiscus tacos are amazing. I love the tortillas - far superior than any other tortillas you'll get. Nice selection of cocktails. I had the white mole with parsnip and maitake mushrooms, which was yummy, but the core of the parsnip was super hard - maybe needs to be cooked a bit longer. The desserts are beautiful and creative, but we wish they were a little bit more "dessert-like."

    Celebrated a birthday and was given a special drink and dessert with a candle/happy birthday cracker. The small special touches were much appreciated. Sunday night ambience (decor, music) and noise level was perfect, but I come for the food and there’s a reason why it received a Michelin Bib Gourmand. 8.5/10 highly recommend and will be back

    We were celebrating my son’s marriage this week and the staff sweetly acknowledged them. Service was excellent! They take extra care to explain the dishes. We were a party of 6 and all of us would return. Muchos gracias!

    we had a date night here, and it was great, My partner is vegan, so he was in heaven, I am not, and still left a very happy camper. Great food, amazing service, an all around wonderful experience.

    We had a seat at the bar right in front of mixologist Miguel who was fantastic at not only describing the process of our own drinks but the drinks of other people. Was very entertaining to watch and gave the dining experience that extra umff.

    My partner and I came here to celebrate valentine’s day. The restaurant is very unique on the outside and the inside felt elegant. The host came across as cold and not very welcoming, which as a first impression, we started on the wrong foot. We sat down at the bar because that’s were we had our reservation booked, even tho the bar was empty except for a couple, we got sat at the very entrance which was cold. Our server/ bartender was amazing, she turned the rough beginning and first impression into a sweet interaction and we were very happy about. Jennifer gave us plenty of recommendations since we were struggling to decide on what to order. She was attentive and friendly. Although she made our dinner more pleasant with her service, I wouldn’t recommend sitting at the bar. Unfortunately it was very loud and we understand they’re making drinks but it’s the loudest bar we’ve sat at. Food wise; it was a roller coaster, flavours were rich and authentic. Our favourite part was dessert, presentation and portions were accurate to the price. Compliments to the chef.

    Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The special cocktails were fabulous in taste and presentation. All the food was outstanding. One of our guests was vegan and they could order anything on the menu. I had the tamales with a mole sauce that had layers of flavour. My daughter had the taco taster consisting of 6 tacos. The service was attentive and always on point. Definitely will (and have) recommend to everyone. Oh and it’s gluten free. Seriously you need to try this place!! Meat eaters will also love this place!!

    Lovely presentation of vegan food. Serving sizes are small and some items were bland - we should have asked for hot sauce. Restaurant was chilly so I had to keep my winter scarf on, I noticed a woman at a table wearing a toque. Otherwise ambience is nice and good service

    When booking the reservation the confirmation states "Your table will be reserved for 2 hours for parties of up to 2", with our reservation at 5:15pm that gives us until 7:15pm. Upon arrival we are informed that we only have the table for 7pm as it is being turned for another reservation. The server continued to remind us of our end time throughout the evening. A drink was forgotten about after being ordered, to which we had to remind the server of. The last drink of the night the Empacho - has the description of "Mexican hot chocolate" however is served cold, the overall drink has a very strong alcoholic taste with no flavor relief. The ambiance is fantastic - the music and table settings are a delight. The winterlicious menu was delicious, all courses and all items were a pleasure to have. While not being Vegan / Vegetarian this was a great culinary adventure.

    We went to La Bartola for the first time for my birthday and also during winterlicious. The food and the drinks are were to die for. We had the three course winterlicious menu and everything was so tasty. One of the drink specials of the day was three margarita samplers, which I would highly recommend if you are a margarita fan. The service was fantastic as well and they even provided me with a free tasty shot for my birthday. We would highly recommend La Bartola to anyone who has never been. We will definitely be going back 😊

    I was so excited to come to Bartola. When we walked in I gave my name. Unfortunately the waiter told me I made a reservation for the bar. I remembered making a table reservation. We tried to find us a table but he said you were fully booked. We almost left but he said we would be charged. So we sat at the bar for a bit. Then after 20 minutes I actually found my reservation which said for a table. Then he realized he made a mistake and didn’t get the correct name. I actually did reserve a table. It was frustrating. He was very nice about it. We stayed and had a delicious dinner. But it would have been nice if the restaurant gave us something to make up the unpleasant experience in the beginning.

    I had a great experience here for Winterlicous. The staff members were very accommodating and welcoming. The food tasted authentic and the presentation was superb. Everything was great. I can tell that a lot of thought was put into each dish. I also love that the entire menu was vegan. The only dish I did not love was the Pistachio Pipian roasted root vegetables. It was just not for me. But everything else on the menu was excellent. I highly recommend the Pickled Cremini Mushroom Tostada, Broccoli Tamal, Braised Hibiscus Taco, and Avocado & Lime Sorbet for dessert. The cocktails all look amazing. I would definitely come back.

    Fantastic experience from start to finish. Decor is warm and inviting, service is attentive and caring, the drinks are excellent, with personalised takes on favourites and not just the tired old classics most restaurants trot out these days. Then there’s the food, as a person who eats a lot of meat I sometimes feel a certain kinda way about plant based menus, but you need have no worries. The flavours are complex and complimentary, the food is fresh and filling and it’s nice to see a menu that isn’t trying to replace meat with those awful substitutes. They let the ingredients sing for themselves and they almost certainly do. Make sure to try the braised hibiscus taco and the pistachio pipian - 10/10, will be back.

    Waitress was great, food and drinks were great. Bad start however. I arrived at 8:30 (reservation time) and was taken to a table not yet cleaned. It was uncomfortable and off putting that they were not ready, wiping down table etc while I sat awkwardly. I’m glad I arrived before my date did. We paid a fair amount and so you expect great service from beginning to end. If I were to go back, I would hope this would not happen again.

    Totally delicious! Service was outstanding and the food was divine. Best guacamole I’ve ever had. Portions were really small though. They only give 3 chips with the guac which we thought was nuts. Highly recommend the 10 taco taster plate. Cocktails were also so good.
