Koocha Mezze Bar
Koocha was founded in 2018 as Bristol’s first totally vegan restaurant – a plant pioneer, we’ve led the way for animal-free cuisine across the city.
What really sets us apart though is the big, unexpected and delicious spices and flavours from Persia and the Middle East that infuse every dish in our bountiful menu.
Our food is as fresh as it comes, sourced locally and sustainably, everything is made from scratch by our talented team. And whether you’re vegan or not, we pride ourselves on our seductive fare – even the most devout meat eaters have declared their love after a meal at one of our tables.

Our famous doner kebab made from Seitan served with all the trimmings in traditional Persian barbari bread. Add Chilli sauce or Tzatziki (or have both at no extra cost!). Contains: Gluten, Sesame & Soya
Marinated chicken style pieces served in barbari bread with salad and a mint chilli salsa. Contains: Gluten & Soya
Wonderful food, although my one comment would be that the chips were quite simple. We were stuffed to the brim!! And other than that, exceptional. Loved it!
Incredible food, fast service, and lovely staff. Couldn't have been better for us.
Excellent food, would highly recommend the donner kebab!
The service was very slow. Compared to the restaurants' landscape in Bristol, the service was one of the worst- 30 mins to get our drinks only.
Food was ok, but it took 25mins to bring us second bread for our mezze that everything got cold by the point we could finish it.
There is service charge of 10% which I wasn't very happy to leave after the whole waiting.
Amazing quality... and quantity... of food.
Great for gfv.
Will definitely be coming back.
My 2nd visit here. Can’t fault this place, fab food and great service. My new favourite place to eat.
Thank you Koocha
Slow service and not friendly (apart from one waiter), food good but nothing special.
Staff weren’t that attentive and appeared to be slightly inexperienced. We waited an hour to just have our drinks order taken and then a hot chocolate that we ordered with the desserts didn’t come out for half an hour after asking wait staff for it 3 times. We were not brought the bill for a good half an hour after we asked for it and eventually had to go to the bar and request it there instead, and en route bumped into the waitress we’d asked for the bill on the stairs who cheerily thanked us as though we’d already paid - easily could have dined and dashed due to staff inattention. Having said that, the food was incredible and definitely saved the night from disaster. Lots of choice and very tasty. Slightly on the pricey side for the portion sizes but I would have happily paid that to support a Bristol independent with such great food had the service been up to scratch.
A wide variety of really love food, of which we ate a lot. We had a main each and shared 4 mezze (and had pudding!), which was a substantial amount of food. Don’t worry that you might go hungry here! We’ll definitely go back.
Food is delicious, great atmosphere and really lovely staff - will definitely return next time we are in Bristol.
The food was nice. There seemed to be too many ‘dip’ type dishes on the tapas menu and not enough items to dip in the dips. But that could have been a lack of understanding the choices.
We were missing a tapas so that was quickly deducted from our bill.
The only disappointment is that we only had our table for a couple of hours and we’re ushered out earlier than we would have liked. But that’s probably because they are busy due to how good the food is.
The food was incredible. Lovely vibe in the restaurant too. And the apple pie cocktail was one not to miss
The food was amazing. I can’t wait to go back. It is really colourful and beautifully presented. Definitely recommend.
Great food and atmosphere. Mezze dishes were delicious, as were the mocktails
The relocation to Cheltenham Road near the arches has made for a bigger, more bountiful establishment.
The drinks menu is wonderfully curated and original.
The food on offer is varied, especially when it comes to subtle flavours and textures.
Friendly and professional staff.
Great food, seemed like many options to choose from. Reasonable priced aswell. I would visit again.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere.
I'm not a vegan but enjoyed!
I have wanted to visit Koocha for over a year!
Their smaller venue was always busy so I am glad they opened a bigger venue.
I booked a table for 4, I recommend booking as it is very busy!
Lovely art mural on the building outside and contemporary decoration inside.
I think they needed more staff on as we waited about 5 minutes on arrival before we were greeted.
Once served, the lady who tended to us was great, very informative and helpful in terms of dish description and allergen information.
We waited at least 45 minutes to receive our food but we had drinks and catch up during so we didn't mind too much.
I had loaded fries - gluten free, which was a great portion - I took some home! My friends portions looked like they could have been bigger.
Over all, a really lovely restaurant.
I'm not sure about value for money but the food was very freshly produced and unique so I think you pay for that. I also think they may need more servers during busy periods to reduce wait.
Thanks Koocha :)
Amazing foods, been requested change from 2 to 3 on this app but no reply until we arrived there and told him they said seem passive but they only offer us sit very small table and bit dark due we all deaf and one of partially blind. So next time I will ask more to make sure we sit right table with lights.
Very tasty Very reasonable prices. Must try the sweet potatoe samosa!
Food and cocktails were fabulous. Service was very slow but they were busy and staff were very apologetic for the long wait. Perfect place for leisurely meal.
The food was amazing as per, but the service was really lacking, staff didn’t really have a clue what was going on when we got there, we were asked to sit at a really awkward table with one chair and right in the path of the door. I managed to ask for another table. I didn’t feel looked after while sat at the table, no one was really checking us, if we wanted anything we had to ask the staff directly rather than then just coming to take our orders. And it took a while for service every time we needed it.
Small plates especially as it’s supposed to b Turkish food . I get what there doing but condition it’s not neat it could b a whole lot cheeper. My friends dish was pretty cold and plane rice with 3 savoury balls no herbs or roasted vegetables, side dishes were tiny and overpriced
My first visit here on recommendation and the food did not disappoint. Lots of really distinct and delicious flavours and textures and the mezze between 5 of us allowed us to sample most of the menu as we had 16 small plates plus some tasty harissa and seeded bread for dips. The only reason I didn't go 5 stars for some of the categories was that our booking was at 9pm and with a short wait for our table to be cleared and an official closing time of 10pm midweek, so it meant that we were right at the end of service and clean up when we left at about 10.30pm. I unreservedly recommend going but perhaps book your slot before 9pm if not going on a Friday or a Saturday to get a coffee/tea post main course ;)
Great food and environment! We shared mezzo dishes, they were very delicious and filling! I recommend the veg fritters and the artichoke dip!
Absolutely amazingly delicious food and lovely staff.
Amazing food in a lovely setting with friendly attentive service
Amazing atmosphere, beautifully decorated, staff were friendly and helpful, food was absolutely amazing and drinks were delicious.
Food was absolutely incredible. And the staff were so lovely and friendly.
Amazing food and cocktails. You must try the strawbrizzle!
Service can be a bit slow. I.e hard to catch someone’s eye to get more drinks!
Great food, great staff, great setting! Had the doner kebab and special fries and it was delicious!
Thank you 🙏 perfect!
We all loved the whole environment of this restaurant and would highly recommend!
Second visit, brought the family this time. Incredible vegan food. The kids had burgers and loved them. We had 12 Mezze between 3 adults with some bread which worked out perfect. Everything was spot on, best vegan experience in Bristol. Great service as well. Music a bit overpowering, but otherwise awesome.
Amazing staff, unreal food, great vibes, all around beaut place xxxx
Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend!
Fab place-wonderful tasty food beautifully presented. Busy and buzzing but not too loud. Excellent cocktails
Great food (we had mezze) & service as always - very highly recommended
The service was very nice and calm and the whole place had a good vibe to it. The food was a amazing and definitely worth going back again
Amazing food- we shared 8 Mezze plates between 2 and there was loads, could definitely share 8 between 3 with some bread.
Great cocktails and service.
Wonderful place for a special meal out.
Must book, busy even on a Monday night.
Amazing Cozy little vegan middle Eastern place, would have been 5 across the board but they had some unfortunate stocking issues on the day, but I 100% believe that will have been fixed by the next day. Would recommend
