   We are never disappointed at Kindling but last night was our first experience of the evening Tasting Menu so we went with a slight reservation but WOW - this is serious fine dining without the fuss or pretentiousness. They do the most amazing things with simple ( but top quality) ingredients- every course was great and some were just incredible. Stand outs included Cucumber with Strawberry, Cuttlefish with hint of chilli, smoked tomatoes and the retired dairy beef sirloin. As always the service was fantastic. Looking forward to more of that beef at the end of the month when we go for lunch - a La carte small plates - and steak of course

   Maybe we had our expectations too high with all the good reviews, but the dinner was a little mediocre. The starters were alright but we felt like the vegetables could've been grilled better to bring out their sweetness. Maybe the chefs wanted us to enjoy the grassy, leafy taste of the vegetables but it wasn't our cup of tea. The fish was grilled very nicely but the sauce was not groundbreaking. The beef was very hard to chew because a thick piece of tendon was not removed and 1/5 of the slice was fat. I respect that they may be trying to minimize the waste from cooking, but there should be a balance with providing a good quality dish. The best dish out of the dinner menu was the tomato salad. We also ordered the wine pairing with the course. It was a little disappointing that we couldn't listen to the descriptions of all the wines as only some servers explained the glass for us. We understand that there is a wine list with descriptions on the table, but a more in-depth story behind the wine would've made the experience more enjoyable. I highly appreciate the way they source their ingredients and the passion they have for cooking, so I sincerely hope that the food and service of the restaurant improves in the future.

   Excellent service coupled with delicious food in an inventivr tasting menu.Perhaps the sirloin did not match the rest of the meal but the cheese course was a revelationWine flight very acceptable without being outstanding

    I love it when I go to a restaurant and have too much to choose from. The Beef pancetta with walnut, walnut puree and nasturtium was simply delicious and, in my view, it took real talent to imagine those ingredients together and then deliver the dish so successfully. Every plate was innovative and hit the mark. A real treat.

    Lovely staff and chefs, really accommodating. We sat at the bar right in-front of the chefs and got to watch the magic happen. Tasty small plates. Left with a smile and feeling full. Definately recommend getting the extra cheese dish on the menu, it was really good!will be back

    We went for the last sitting of lunch so the restaurant was quiet which is the only reason I have given it four to ambience because the restaurant itself is lovely. The flavours in each dish were incredible and the service was some of the best I’ve ever had, attentive, kind and informative without feeling pestered. Will definitely return!

    Lovely quiet Sunday lunch in Brighton. Excellent "small" plates with a good variety for vegetarians and carnivores alike. The menu changes seasonally but if you see the bream in bergamot buerre blanc or the baby leeks with fried agg, snaffle 'em. Everything was relaxed but spot on - if you're local, go. If you're not, it's well worth the earlier trip I made from London to be able to go.

    We were so pleased with the choice to eat at Kindling. We read reviews looked at the menu and decided this was the kinds place a pair of foodies would like.! We wasn’t disappointed. The food was amazing, smells textures taste and visual of course all hit 5 stars. The staff were all so friendly very explanatory of the food. Enthusiastic about the menu which is so very different from other restaurants we have visited. We will definitely go back very soon.

    My wife and I visited to celebrate our wedding aniversary. Great food. Every mouthful was full of surprise. Who knew that mushroom on toast could taste like that! The staff were great. We were encouraged to try the octupus against our better judgement and were so pleased as it was wonderful. The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming. We would love to return.

    A fantastic and immersive experience with out of this world food. The menu was well crafted, SO tasty, but very filling by the end of the countless courses. We sat at the kitchen bar and it was so great chatting to the amazing team. We will be returning for lunches and dinners in the future.

    Outstanding food with obvious care and attention paid. Lovely service with a really pleasant level of discussion and a thoughtful recognition of my birthday with some beautiful white chocolate fudge! Thoroughly recommend!!!     Service was slow, and there was little attention paid to diners. We waited for half an hour before our drinks order was taken, and another hour before we received our starters (which were small and simple). The food was lovely, though not worth the wait or poor service. Our group felt the waiters were condescending and obviously faking their hospitality. Would not recommend or come back here.

This is an average wait on a busy night, but since you weren't happy, I told you that I had taken the service charge off the bill as a good will gesture. You then replied that wasn't necessary, because the service was delightful. You enjoyed your Birthday plate, and you left smiling and thankful. It seems we weren't the ones faking something..
