We dined at Jules on Sunday evening at 6.30pm. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. As a vegetarian, trying to find somewhere to eat out which doesn't serve the easy option of curry, goats cheese or risotto can be tricky. Jules have a plant based menu and I opted for the Cauliflower bites with ginger and soy dipping sauce to start and spinach and sweet potato pie for main. The batter on the cauliflower bites had a flavour of fish - fine for a meat eater but not a vegetarian. I nibbled at the cauliflower floret on one of the bites - my husband ate the rest - he said that the batter tasted like scampi. (He's a meat eater). The dipping sauce included several slices of chilli which was not mentioned on the menu so beware if you're not a chilli lover. The spinach and potato pie was ok, again the menu neglected to mention that this included some spice, the pie temperature was ok - hotter than the mashed potatoes and broccoli which lacked any real heat and had the slightly crusty texture of having been sat for too long. My husband had the smoked salmon starter, which he classed as 5/10 and quite underwhelming for £10.50 He chose the roast sirloin beef main, which was quite fatty, and lukewarm, the accompany mashed potato and veg was equally lukewarm with the same dried finish on the mash as above. The roast potatoes were hot, but not crispy and had a reheated texture. Certainly not worth the £25 paid. We mentioned the food temperature to the waiter and he said that it had been 'cooked to order so shouldn't be lukewarm'. I know you can't cook food from scratch to order in a restaurant, but the food service needs better timing. Our starter plates had only just been removed when the mains arrived within a minute or two. I'm guessing, judging by the lukewarm temperature that the mains had been stood while the starters were served. Disappointing visit all in all.

Lovely place. Has a real high-end feel and is decorated and furnished to a high-level throughout. Food was exceptional. It is expensive in my view (£32.50 for a Sirloin) but it was extremely good. Service at Reception, in the Bar and in the Restaurant was no better than ok. Staff were thin on the ground (Bar), focused on their phones (Reception) but to be fair attentive and polite in the Restaurant. It seems that the Padel Courts share the same Bar/Reception and so players used the same areas as Restaurant diners............a strange mix we thought given restaurant prices.

We ate at the restaurant as a family group of 5 adults. A suitable table was arranged without fuss by the restaurant manager, who was friendly, efficient and attentive. The food was excellent and served by friendly staff. A very enjoyable experience.

In the Ribble Valley there is a wide choice of excellent eating establishments. This is clearly one of them.

Excellent Food in a quiet but comfortable restaurant. Prices were average or above for Lunch. Maybe put a two course or 3 course special Sunday Lunch Menu. Children’s meals were excellent with a wide choice. An enjoyable meal experience.

The food was excellent. I had the lamb from the Sunday lunch menu. The ambience is good and loved the decor. It’s a small restaurant so wasn’t too noisy. Definitely go back
