When we got there, we were a little surprised on how small the menu was. The food was exceptional. We ordered bread last minute when some did not come out. It was amazing. The staff was great. We will be back!

We adore Russell & Sally as well as their restaurants. Stopped in for a very late lunch & almost had the place to ourselves & the wonderfully attentive staff. Fried eggplant appetizer was good enough to fight over. Crispy/crunchy fried and full of well melded flavor. Finally had the chance to try the piccata. Worth the wait! Found that day's special dessert, a creamy chocolate cake with almond cookies to be fantasyic. Finally, we loved the attention McKenzie doted upon us. She was wonderful. Gotta LOVE this place!

My wife and I split a pizza, then she had a salad and I had a pasta dish. All of the food was excellent. It is one of my favorite Baton Rouge restaurants, and one of my favorite restaurants, period. And we eat in New Orleans frequently. Highly recommended.

First time at Josephine's and we'll be back. Our server, Shelley, took amazing care of us. She let us dictate the speed of the meal and kept our water glasses full while chatting with us to. The calamari friti was very good and the melezane caprese was also outstanding. Hubs has the blub crab over squid ink pasta and ate every last bit of it. I enjoyed the Saturday special, short ribs over gnocchi. All pasta is made in house. One thing I didn't get was the "foccacia" made from pizza crust dough. It was very greasy and not very focacia-like. Would pass on that in the future. Big finale was the tiramisu -- VERY legit and VERY good!! I enjoyed some chocolate hazelnut gelato. Quite reasonably priced and a real neighborhood gem

This was the best dining experience I’ve had in Louisiana. The food was outstanding from the appetizers to the desserts. The drinks were wonderful. Truly delicious and delightful. The service was amazing, the recommendations from the staff were perfect. And everyone from the front of house to the kitchen were so kind and professional but friendly. I can’t recommend this establishment highly enough.
