    I don’t normally leave any review but tonight we had so much fun! Food was delicious! Steak was best ever. Was looking forward to the SRF Wagyu but turned out the dry aged USDA Prime was even better. Service was great! My family had a great time! ♥️ thank you!

    Appetizers of bone marrow and gras were very tasty, Couldn’t ask for a more perfectly done steak, beautiful crust on the outside, med rare and juicy inside. Service was also excellent. This is our favorite steak house in the Seattle area.

    Our experience at John Howie Steak house was outstanding. It was our first time dining here; and our server (Ryan) was knowledgeable about the menu which was helpful in making our choices. If you are looking for a great meal and wonderful service; do not hesitate to choose John Howie Steak house.

    We had four people over for dinner at John Howie's steak and two had never been there before. We all ordered wagyu. Each steak was explained so no problem there. The table Captain was our waitperson and very personable. Here are the things that we took note of. Had to ask for water on two separate occasions. Had to ask for the salt for the bread basket, I had the apple salad and it was very overdressed to the point where the leaves were getting soggy, returned the brandy peppercorn sauce because it tasted like something out of a can. The ambiance and music level were lovely until around 8:00 when the lights got turned up a lot brighter and the music got a lot louder at 8:30. Don't know what that was about but it was not very pleasant. Flourless chocolate cake was wonderful except could have been heated more. Cold around the edges warm in the middle. Perhaps that's the way you like it, but I personally would have loved to have seen it heated up just a little bit more. The Moscato I had was to die for. So there you go!

    Brian, our waiter, was outstanding. Sensitive to our conversations, and very helpful with menu and service, as was the rest of his team. Felt sorry for the staff last night as they had a rather boisterous diner at at a neighboring table who's demeanor was affecting the overall ambiance of the dining room. They were very professional.

    Are second time at JHS. We asked for Brett Callis again and we got him. Another impeccable dining experience. Menu options, food quality, execution, plating, taste, service are all 5 star. We always enjoy table side preparations and we enjoyed the Caesar salad and the Bananas Foster. A great spectacle. A definite must if you are celebrating a special occasion. Scott was our Sommelier and we had the 2017 Upchurch cabernet. That too was delicious. I only gave 3 stars for value, because it is expensive. But it was also worth the money. Ask for Brett. He is knowledgeable, professional and good humored (in a subtle way which befits the setting).

    Great food and service. Very busy for a Sunday night. So many service staff running that it was a bit distracting. The lighting could have been dimmer. Was looking for a relaxing romantic dinner with my wife.

    We had a wonderful unique evening and will gladly return. Our server Ryan was superb and the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Cocktails were delicious and wine service excellent. The food and service exceeded our expectations!

    Absolutely absurd for the price. Ordered a steak and didn’t even get sides without paying an extra cost. Bread is something that should be free not cost as well. Green stuff in my! On top of that they charge a 20% fee!!! Absurd.

    Filets were cooked amazing and very tender, sides were far less than impressive, took awhile to get drinks and place our order. For the price I could think of a number of better options.

    Our server (Ruben) and sommelier (Joshua) were outstanding. Great knowledge of the menu and wine list and excellent recommendations. The filet mignon was outstanding and the Seafood salad was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

    Overall experience was very good. Highly recommend for celebration meal. Only one comment - the one thing that was not up to standard was the steak, which was disappointing. Should have been the highlight, but everything else (habenero prawns, creamed spinach, stuffed potato, wedge salad) outshined the ribeye we had. Again, very good all around, but was surprised that our steak was eh and appeared to lack seasoning.

    John Howie Steak. The name says it! He has put his name on it and specified STEAK. The selection of steak is unparalleled in Bellevue, and perhaps in the USA. Everything they prepare and serve is delicious and top quality. So, you don't have to eat steak here to get a good meal, but when the restaurant is called "Steak" you can be confident that the steaks will be good. But unlike some other steakhouses they take their fish, pork, chicken and plant based choices just as seriously as the awesome steak choices. If you'd like some scotch whiskey to accompany your time at John Howie Steak, you will not be disappointed here either. An extensive list of well curated choices that you'll be sure to fine the old favorites along with many surprising and rare choices good enough for the most seasoned palates!

    We had an enjoyable dinner. Adding 20% to the bill automatically making us think if we should come back. Our server Rayen was amazing and the food was pretty good, who know if next time will have the same service. $100 tips and $64 taxes made our bill over the top.

    The service was horrible. It was my mom's birthday and I had specifically mentioned it. No one asked how our food was, I had to ask for silverwares, seasoning and dressing. Didn't even ask if I needed drinks. Overrated and will def not go back!

    We gave this place a 2nd chance after about 5 years and as soon as the main dish came in we instantly regretted it. The server was amazing, she was just perfect and knew what she’s going. The food and most important the steak had no taste and was cooked worse then Dennis’s restaurant. In fact, this might’ve been the worse steak I ever had and only eat good part of it because we were very hungry and didn’t want to bother the server as she was just starting her day. Man! It’s Rib eye. Anyone can cook a rib eye, how can you mess it up so bad? I guess they cook them a little then freeze them and then reheat in electric grill or oven.There is no way that $100 steak was fresh. NO WAY! It tasted boiled and inside no color. Medium but no color. The asparagus over cooked and no color and mushrooms boiled and reheated. Only good food was the Caesar salad which was done by the server. The salad was perfect and I know that because I’m a chef. I know when I see and eat good food.

    This was our 2nd visit to JH (within a week) and unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We waited an hour for our main course (Tomahawk steak), a few of the side dishes were cold and had to be replaced, our steak didn’t taste anything close to how it tasted a week earlier and it ruined the experience. Fortunately, our original servers (from the 1st visit) Ryan and Jose, showed us some love and apologized for the delay and the food. We were planning on taking a large group of friends to JH, to celebrate a milestone birthday in November, but I think we will give it some time, before we try them again. Ryan and Jose were incredible!

    We had the 40 day aged ribeye and the delominco bone in strip. By far the ribeye was a better steak, however, both lacked general flavor. They were mostly unseasoned and honestly a bit disappointing. The saving grace of the experience was the special salts they brought to the table which heavily complimented the steak. The butter salt was amazing as was the black salt. In the end if I’m trying to sell you on the experience based on how good the salt compliment was I feel like they really missed the mark in the quality of the steak itself.

    I’ve been wanting to come to JH for a long time, and it certainly did not disappoint. Ambiance/vibe is right for the area, the steak was as advertised, but it was the service was what made the difference.. excellent touches, very professional, yet far from stuffy.

    Excellent steaks. I wish the desserts were more like the ones at John Howie's Seastar. The cheesecake we had was not up to the standards of the Meyer lemon cheesecake there.

    Food and service were excellent but the prices are outrageous. For example, the wagyu beef from japan is $195 for 4oz. It's exquisite tasting and likely the best piece of meat one will ever have but at that price, one would think it would come with complementary side(s) but it does not. That price is only for the steak, and you have to pay extra for the sides. The food at John Howie is amazing but it's not for every day dinning -- not at those prices.

    We love everything about our experience. We are confused about the 20%service charge. It's explanation is confusing. Does some of it go to our server? Maybe you should raise prices and let customers add a tip or have a 20 % tip which goes to server.
