The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. Points off for having a kids menu but no changing tables in either the women’s or men’s bathroom. Also, my entree (chilaquiles) had only 4 small pieces of shrimp, so it was not filling. Since most of my friends have young babies, I would not recommend this restaurant as there are no changing tables.
Love the Branzino and the Jalisco martini. Fun place and great service.
This was my second trip to Jalisco Norte. Sadly this experience was not as good as the first. The seafood was not fresh and actually made me sick later that night. We were really disappointed as we took friends there for the first time expecting the same good experience we had the first time. There were several times where we did not have the proper silverware for the dish. Our guest was served her soup without a spoon. Very dissapppinting and I doubt we will go back.
The menu was most interesting. The food was well presented and tasted very good and the service was fantastic. This young chef knows what he’s doing.
Please do something to make it easier to get into the restaurant. Your front doors are extremely heavy, hard to open and hold open if someone is behind you. Other than that I love the restaurant and so do several friends and especially my granddaughter.
Food was so-so, portions small, prices relatively high. Why would you call chopped-up tuna on a tortilla, "tuna carpaccio"? How about tuna sashimi? Layered enchiladas were tough and dry. No beers on tap. Flan and tres leches cake were recently taken OFF of the dessert menu. I think they are trying too hard....
We had the best experience at brunch with some of the best wait staff that I have seen in a long time!
We have been to Jalisco several times, and the food is very good. Other than they change their menu and eliminated a couple of preferred dishes, I recommend them as a Mexico City versus Tex-Mex, Mexican restaurant. However, on my last visit we had some of the worst service that I can remember. we were seated in the back corner, and I saw my server two times: once to take a drink order and the second time to drop off the check, presumably thinking that she desired the time for our meal. In between, she gave us to another server, who appeared to be overloaded as well. At one point I tracked down the manager, who provide some attention for awhile (at least got us our food from the kitchen), but he must have had to run off to save other poor souls who were being neglected.
Horrible restaurant. We will never return
We had to wait 30min for a table even though we had a reservation. Then it took 25 min for our drinks, our food actually came out before the drinks. Food portions where small.
Great food, lots of different items to try, serious flavor!
Thankfully and gratefully, the style of food served IS NOT TEX-MEX!!
Definitely will go back to try more from the menu...
This is the type of place that you can go many times and not eat the same thing, well, unless you want the same thing.
The place has a great location and the ambiance is nice. The service was sublime. Truly made date night a good experience.
The food was good. I did not like my dish the enchiladas but the Osso bucco was phenomenal, would hands down order it again.
Drinks were great, strong, and addicting.
Service was excellent, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was inviting.
The food was delicious; however, the service was spotty. We had a party of 6 and it took a long time to get service. We asked for refills of water and it took >10 minutes.
Excellent margaritas. Lots of options and they offer the ability to customize.
I loved everything about this restaurant. It is a bit pricey but soooo good. We had an obnoxiously loud table close to us but other than that it was awesome!
Waited 1.25 hrs for our food. Extremely slow service overall. Manager said he’d help out with out bill—turned out they kept offering us a ‘free shot’ or ‘free margarita’ as compensation. Will never come here again despite the food being good. This restaurant needs new management. They lead chef can stay!
Food was pretty good. We chose to take some plain meats and add sauces and sides. Not a bad idea. The service was not good. Our waiter messed up a drink order because he didn't understand it (but pretended to). We never truly straightened out the drink order. Drinks were slow during the meal, probably due to inattention. The waiter would not listen to what we wanted. He spoke over us, suggesting we change to his favorites instead of just taking the order of what we wanted.
The food was excellent!! For the most part the service was good however they have seemed to have forgotten us for the main course. We were there on NYE and had the 6 course tasting menu. We waited approximately 40 minutes in between 1 of the courses. As a result, we had to rush the last two courses and actually had to watch the NYE festivities from the street instead of the hotel viewing area as we returned after the street lockdown. Also, the main course we received, while magnificent and delicious was not what was listed on the menu. That being said, we will return and highly recommend it!! We can’t wait to return and try some of their other dishes.
One of the appetizers never came out. One of the entrées came out cold. We would not return.
Things have slowed down at Jalisco, and that's not a bad thing. No longer SRO at the bar, and reservations available. The menu is reorganized so that you can order tacos a la carte, which I did. The shrimp taco was very good, but barbacoa and chicken with poblanos were just average and over salted. The salad with pepinos was excellent, and wait staff very attentive. Overall still a good place for upscale Mexican.
I frequent this restaurant and have never been disappointed for service, knowledgeable wait staff, and most important, fantastic food. I am greeted as a friend and I appreciate the warmth and friendliness.
The service was great, however my food was not worth the premium min $5 a taco. One of my tacos was cold and even the tortilla was cold. Not sure if that specific one was suppose to be prepared cold however I took one bit and that was it. Overall I have to say the only reason I would go is for the drinks. The have a Mexican wine we love and if they didn't serve Casa Madero I don't think we would keep on giving it as many tries as we have. My husband loves their chicken con mole so maybe it's just what you order.
Loved this restaurant, until they changed the menu and no longer are willing to prepare anything from the "old" menu. The new enchiladas were basic, boring and lacked flavor. The brussels were undercooked and also lacked flavor. I sadly feel it was our last time.
The food was good, but nothing great warranting it being pricier than your average Tex-Mex place. The waiter tried too hard on the constant upsell which was a bit annoying.
Not our kinda place. While the restaurant is cool, hip, well designed, and comfortably exciting, the food and service did not match.
What was good: The choices of margaritas and most of the ones our group tried all were above average. The best food any of us at the table had were the Ranchero Beans and the fresh tortillas.
Not so good: The pork belly tacos had great flavor, but the fatty part was unreasonably stringy and had poor texture. The octopus was nearly too salty that it should have been sent back. None of the fresh salsas were to our liking either.
I get the authentic flavors thing, but nearly all the food amongst our group was not to our liking.
The service could have been a lot better. It was a busy night and given the holiday timing, they were likely understaffed. Our waitress came by way too infrequently to support our pace and thirst. She seemed passionate about the food, the chef, restaurant, and their story, but it was clear it was all about the tip and not about the actual service. Days later I think what may have happened is they were understaffed with support folks for the waitstaff and the good waitstaff had to do all the work.
Bottom line: Will we go back? No. Why? In this area, there are so many other options that delight over and over.
Why go to this restaurant? Because you feel important and maybe want to appear hip and in on a new thing.
Consideration: Perhaps we were there on a bad night. Maybe we ordered the wrong menu items. Perhaps we are too conservative and dull.
Everything was great with the exception of the slow service. We were told in advance that service was slow due to a new menu and the kitchen learning the menu changes. Otherwise it was a great and had no other complaints.
We have been to Jalisco many times and have always enjoyed it. They revised the menu this week and the kitchen is really struggling. It took almost an hour to get our food and the shrimp tacos came out partially raw. The carne asada and crab cakes were good as usual, but the four other entrees were very poor. Hopefully they will work it out soon We will try it once more and then decide whether or not to mark it off our list.
The queso fundido was good. The rest of the food was not, and it certainly wasn’t worth the price. We were told they changed their menu 5 days ago and so the kitchen was still figuring things out. Our server at times forgot about us. We asked for desert menus. We got them about 10 minutes later. So, the desert urge dissipated quickly. We will not be coming back.
I have been here before and loved it but on this occasion we had multiple dishes that were delivered cold and had to be sent back. We were also given the wrong side dish but they gave it to us for free and brought the dish we ordered as well. Service was good.
By far hands down the Best Carne Asada ever experienced! My Beautiful Cynthia had the Crab Cakes and they just about melted in your mouth.
I truly enjoyed the Tequila Old Fashioned's and Manhattan's, some of the Best Ever...
We were enjoying our Christmas Weekend Together, so we had to try Jalisco Norte after our Couples Massage at Massage Envy Rockwall.
Cyn and I enjoy the finer things so we needed to indulge ourselves with a Tequila Flight w/Casa Dragones Blanco, Clasa Azul Reposada and Clasa Azul Mescal and enhanced the experience with a Keeping Up with the Jerry Joneses Margarita.
Jalisco Norte will be a Favorite for a Lifetime!
First time eating here Was pleasantly surprised We were seated in the corner with beautiful view of the courtyard The waitstaff were attentive and pleasant. The room we were seated was very loud ,hard to hear someone sitting across the table. But very interesting menu with some unique items. Overall a good experience Will be back
The food and service is always impeccable. Izzy, Erik and Raul have great guest service!!!
I love this restaurant, and come here very frequently. Tonight was by far the worst service I've ever experienced. Admittedly they set a high bar with outstanding dining experiences every time before, so this could have been an off night. But I hope this is not the start of a pattern. Still love this place.
Abraham was the best waiter I’ve ever had in my entire life. I wouldn’t even classify him as a waiter. He was super professional he made my girlfriends bday a great experience. The food was outstanding. And the ambiance was romantic. 10/10 will be going back.
Really, really outstanding meal tonight. The queso fundido with mushrooms was very good and the shrimp and pescado tacos were also excellent.
Great food and service.
My barbocoa was a little on the salty side, but then again I really like the Barbacoa at Chipotle. So mabey that is how it is supposed to taste. Drinks are pricey but I love how the servers tell you their favorite and why, they also make great suggestions if you ask. Small waiting area but opentable made it more convenient and they even called before to confirm.
Food was amazing. Celebrating my birthday Benny our server made it really special with his personal recommendations and his very attentive service and his very personal service. He was warm and always smiling and made us feel VIP.
Very good except for the loud music. I realize that’s the trend but we won’t go back very often because of it.
