The onion strings were awesome. We were in town and hadn’t been to Jakes in over a decade. The onion strings were always a favorite so thought we would check it out. Looking at the menu we noticed the prices had gone up considerably. I guess that’s to be expected though after a decade. However the quality had gone down. Wife had. 6oz fillet that had almost no flavor. She ordered it medium but it came medium well. I order a ribeye medium rare and it came cooked correctly but it was on the tough side and a huge line of grissle right through the middle. Probably should have sent both back but ate them. The drinks aren’t cheap either. Had a whiskey sweat and it was $12.50. All in all disappointing.

The staff were working hard to meet everyone's needs, but there seemed to not be a busser. Dirty dishes were stacking up on a tray in the dining room and our table was not set properly (no water glasses or bread plates). All in all, we enjoyed our meal and always enjoy coming to Jakes, but this was an observation.

Fantastic Food that never fails to meet our expectations. Friendly and helpful servers and a warm and cozy, comfortable dining area that is not noisy or crowded. This is our go-to place when we want an excellent steak dinner, and the sides are all amazing, and yes, I do believe we have tried them all by now. Save room for dessert!

Had the Porterhouse for 2. Excellent quality and perfectly medium rare. Nice recognition of our Anniversary. Awesome bartender! Sides were small and we were surprised that sauce was an extra charge.

The server switched my (medium rare) filet and my mother-in-law’s (medium well) filet. Even after we figured it out and switched, the steak was still okay at best. Overall, the food was fairly bland and unimpressive for how high it was priced.

After years of not eating out at my favorite, due to Covid, I finally came back.... What a wonderful evening!!! Even the noise level wasn't going to ruin this! Our waitperson was so above what I expected..she's a real keeper! Even other members of your team made it so enjoyable just by stopping by. Being in a "urge" electric wheel chair does hamper most outings, but nothing, not even the noise, could pull this evening down. The Cowboy steaks were excellent. Perfectly prepared and so tender. The fish fry was a little bland. Tarter sauce was runnier than what I am used to.

Did the Monday steak special and it was really good we ordered the NY Strip and Filet. NY Strip was very flavorful thin but cut like butter The filet had good flavor but parts were very chewy. For the price and experience would definitely go back and do the Monday night special again

Our fault We wanted to split the 6 ounce Filet mignon That is what we usually get at Palmers I think it was prepared as two orders 3 ounces each I like the outside burnt and the inside juicy I had baractic surgery and can only eat a very small amount I wish a cup of French onion soup was an option

We've been to Jake's twice recently. Both times the food and the service were exceptional. On our second visit we had the walleye and a hamburger - the walleye was done to perfection and the hamburger was cooked through yet still juicy. We will be back again.

Jake's did a very good job with dinner. I had duck that was excellent aand my wife had walleye that was very good. The salads were very good. for a Wednesday eveneing Jake's was very busy.

We absolutely love Jakes and have made it our "go to" finer dining spot for 30+ years. Last night was the first time that we had an item that we ordered not come - we ordered the onion rings and never got them. Have no idea if we were charged for them or not and wasn't going to make a big deal about it! Still love Jakes!

We had a reservation at 5 p.m. and had a delightful dining experience. The atmosphere was quaint, quiet and peaceful. The food was excellent and was served in a nice time frame and gave us ample time to finish each course without feeling rushed. It was my birthday and I was surprised with a chocolate sundae and candle to celebrate.

First of all two of us had dirty silverware, the walleye fish was cooked with way too much butter, so much so the I could not eat it. The only meal that was any good was the cheese burger a all the meals were way over priced. The desserts all look great, but again way over priced. We would definitely not go back there again.

So sweet to have a cozy little table for my husband and I for our anniversary. The table was decorated and there was even a card wishing us a happy anniversary. After our meal we were presented a little dessert on behalf of Jake’s staff. Jake’s is always special to us- we had dinner there the night he proposed. Well done!
