Had a decent time at @huntersboston! Definitely a cozy atmosphere, so better in the colder weather (which I know we're finally coming out of now!). Booths were a bit uncomfortable though because you can feel the people behind anytime they move around. Also, the service is better than what the Google review horror stories make them out to be. What we ordered: Honey Butter Cornbread Brisket Sliders - cheddar biscuits, smoked brisket, bourbon bbq, grillo's dill pickles Burnt Ends - pork belly, bourbon bbq sauce Smash Burger - new school american cheese, bacon, griddled onion, grillo's dill pickles, potato bun Fried Chicken & Waffles - popcorn chicken, cheddar liege waffles, habanero lavender honey Beignets - powdered sugar, chocolate sauce Food: ★★★★ Service: ★★★★ Atmosphere: ★★★★ Price: $20–30 #boston #bostonfood #food #foodreview #foodie #foodies #bostonfoodie #bostonfoodies #bostoneats

Some of our favorites included the biscuits + gravy, blueberry french toast and @cheflambo1891 gumbo. The cocktails were equally delicious 🍸🍸 @huntersboston will be transforming into a winter ski lodge soon and will be offering even more festive winter cocktails ❄️🍸🔥 *Reservations can be made on @opentable #southie #southboston #boston #bostonma #bostonmass #bostonmassachusetts #bostonusa #bosfeed #bostonrestaurants #bostonrestaurant #eaterboston #bostonfoodie #bostonfoodies #bostonfoodjournal #bostonfoodgram #beantown #bostoneats

Hunters has quickly become one of our favorite spots in South Boston. We came for my fathers birthday brunch and everything was fantastic from start to finish. The Southern Skillet was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict was easily one of the best brunch dishes Ive had in a long time. The Shrimp and Grits were rich and comforting and the cornbread was so good we were talking about it the rest of the day. We had to finish with the beignets and they were the perfect ending. The food is incredible but what really keeps us coming back is the atmosphere. The live music, friendly staff, and welcoming vibe make it feel like a place you want to hang out for hours. You can tell everyone genuinely cares about giving people a great experience. If youre looking for amazing southern comfort food in South Boston this is the place. We will absolutley be back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hunter’s absolutely knocked it out of the park. My fiancée and I came in on a Friday night, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. The live music set the perfect tone, creating an energetic but relaxed atmosphere that made us want to stay all night. If you’re craving authentic Southern comfort food, this is the place. Every dish was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and tasted homemade in the best way possible. The cocktails were just as impressive and paired perfectly with the meal. What really stood out was the hospitality. Every member of the staff was genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Great Southern comfort food, incredible drinks, live music, and immaculate vibes—Hunter’s is everything you want in a Friday night spot. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for one of the best dining experiences in South Boston.

Ran out of the special before 8:30…wouldn’t just trade out a different cut of steak even though they had it.

Great food. Great service. We were seated outside and after about 1/2 hour, the manager came out to inform us that a storm was coming and that he suggested that we move inside. No sooner had we settled inside, the skies opened up and a very heavy storm came down. We were so very grateful for his advice. The only complaint is that the restaurant is very noisy (vibrant?!) inside.

The food was hit and miss. The gumbo, though not actually gumbo, was flavorful and hearty. The cornbread was amazing. The Dirty rice was full of brisket and enjoyed. Now for the misses. The ship and grits was disappointing . Grits were lukewarm and over salted and the sauce was disappointing as well. The Cajun coleslaw , though a side dish, was bland. It’s my belief that restaurants should strive to make every item outstanding even if it’s a side dish. Overall I feel 3 stars is a fair assessment of our experience. With more attention to details this could be a five star location
