So happy it is back - Austin landmark. Only wish is that they were open more days of the week!

What can you say about this place that hasn’t already been said. Around since 1912 this is as OLD SCHOOL as you can get. Zero frills dive that is absolutely AMAZING. I can almost guarantee you’ve never eaten at a place like this. You just order your cut and how you want it cooked and that’s it.Sides are the “take it or leave it” salad, fried potatoes and bread. My steak was cooked to perfection and the seasoning and lemon butter sauce seals the deal. If you are looking for fancy this AIN’T it. If you’re looking for deliciousness at a great value, this is your spot!!

If you want fine dining and linen table cloths this is not for you. If you like experiencing places that have been in the family since 1938 and the current owner chats with you and tells the history this is your place. Only seats 20 max. Inside is charmingly outdated. It a time warp into the past. Steaks are huge and tasty!

Glad to have Hoffbrau open again. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Chef seasoned and cooked steaks swimming in butter when served. Staff was cheerful and offered excellent service. Wish they were open during the week.

This is the Original! Good to see RC, Mary Gail and Cathy back at it! The steak was cooked to perfection, great salad and those steak fries….yummmm

We made a dinner reservation a month prior (to celebrate my friend’s bday) and they just canceled on us a few days before! With no offer to make things right.
