   High Spot continues to impress with great food and attentive service at a reasonable price. We thoroughly enjoyed our Steak Frites and Blackened Redfish, and we are fans of the Prime Rib, as well.

    Definitely cannot compete with the original High Spot. Very limited menu compared to the original. Nothing special regarding the main dish. The desserts were disappointing. The ice cream was not smooth and had little taste. However, the bar served top end drinks. Definitely not high-end dining... saltine crackers on the table. The staff was friendly with multiple people stopping by to check on our meals. Unfortunately it was not able to give honest feedback at the time as it was a business dinner.

    Limited food choices. Could add more options to the menu. The oysters were too salty. I ordered the fish and chips after nothing else seemed to interest me. Very greasy and the fish did not taste fresh. My husband ordered the meat loaf and he said it was pretty good. However, he agreed they could beef up the menu a bit. The apple pie dessert with the vanilla custard was very good. We enjoyed that.

    Our time at High Spot was quite pleasant. The atmosphere and service was superior. We were given time and space to converse with limited interruption. Staff was seen doing maintenance of the lounge without affecting guests. My Creamed Chipped Beef was too peppery, but all other food was exceptional. Loved the pecan pie with a shortbread crust.

    Really disappointing, especially since it’s by the same company that superbly runs Theo’s. The brunch took FOREVER. We sat down at 11:50 am, got drinks around 12:05 pm, and food didn’t show up until 12:45 pm. Worse, it wasn’t worth the wait. The pancakes were sad little things, burnt and abused. The side sausage wasn’t much better. And my partner’s burger was dry and flavorless. That morning, their fryer wasn’t working, and they didn’t seem to have several other items. For the large number of staff I saw running around, I still can’t fathom why the food took forever, getting a drink refill was as difficult as it was, and just how no one recognized what an awful experience they were serving. Very sad that this replaced the local Theo’s.

    The food was pretty good. The fryer was down so almost everyone I. Our party had to change what we wanted. I thought the portions were to small. We were still hungry after eating there. I don't think the overall value was good enough.

    I dined alone as part of my 50th Birthday stay-cation. The staff was super friendly ,welcoming and provided great service. It was a busy Friday night and the food, drinks and atmosphere did not disappoint. I'll definitely dine here again.

    The food was fair at best, and they were out of meatloaf, of all things. Two people in our party complained that the Shepard's Pie was dry--no gravy. Fish and chips coating was mushy not crisp and the petit filet was over-cooked (asked for med) and not so tender. Wine selection was limited with no real good wines--we tried 5 different kinds-- and several items by the glass were also unavailable. Since this restaurant reopened as the High Spot the food has been underwhelming (I've been there twice) and they seem to always be out of something. I will not be going again. I feel the menu is limited and unimaginative.

    The High Spot was awesome! The menu had a lot of the items that the High Spot had during its time prior to it closing down and becoming Theo's; as well as some great new items. Audrey was amazing! She was very attentive and a lot of fun... one of the best servers I have had in ages. Liston is a great Bar Manager, and she does an incredible job as well.

    One of my friends at the table ordered the “special grilled cheese.” What came out was a cheese sandwich on toasted bread, not grilled and without the special fillings. We won’t go back. Very expensive for mediocre food.

    Burger was the best food received. Shrimp Po’ Boy hastily thrown together. Shrimp over-breaded and over cooked. Very dry. Almost no remoulade , lettuce or tomato. Steak fries mushy. No crab dip or crab cake on menu. No Shrimp tempura on app menu. No seltzer’s available from bar. Limited sides for vegetarian and/or gluten free. Food took quite a while to arrive and it was only moderately busy. Mix up on reservation. Tried to seat us with a couple we didn’t know and said the other half of our party was there when they weren’t. Overall, a lot of work to be done. Will keep supporting, hoping that these issues are addressed.

    Excellent first visit to High Spot on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Looking for some comfort food and found it in BBQ chicken and gouda cheese nachos. Delicious, flavorful and unique. Reasonable portions. Attentive, friendly service. Great ambiance for the Cambridge historical but laid back vibe. A new favorite.

    The happy hour is a very good deal for both food and drink. We had the buffalo oysters - really good. But maybe a tad too much breading - but plump. The french dip was tasty - it must have been sitting a bit though because the smoked gouda was hardened in a big glob on both halves with the caramelized onions. There was also too much bread..or maybe too little meat? But again it was tasty. The au jus was tasty but quite salty. The blueberry pie was not good. Couldn't break through the tasteless crust. The blueberry portion wasn't tasty either. The burger was juicy and delicious.

    High Spot was stellar on all points! The service was genuine and friendly, the food was excellent and appropriately priced. The only drawback, which is probably difficult to manage, is the noise level. As the room filled up, it became difficult to hear my husband's conversation. It is very loud despite sound boards on the walls. Perhaps the only way they can diminish the noise is to put down carpets. The hardwood floors are beautiful, but they cause sound to be amplified all over the room. Great staff, great food!

    The High Spot is back! Many of the old classics from the original High Spot and the 2010's high spot are back on the menu, as well as a few from Theo's days. The ambience was great - friendly, casual, and comfortable as a pair of old boots. The meatloaf was excellent, as were the fried pickles and the cheeseburger. Solid wine and beer list and a menu with lots of options in terms of eating styles and budget. Service was attentive, informed, quick, and friendly - extraordinary for such a young restaurant. I look forward to coming here regularly. Thank you so much for bringing back a Cambridge establishment with such care and attention to detail!
