Henry's Uncorked, a Patio Wine Bar and Restaurant
We have been here several times and each time it gets better and better. Always start with the artichoke and the spuds! The beet salad is super yum and all the entrees are great (although I wish there were a couple more options, and maybe a chicken?)
The smoking conductor cocktail was a total hit. And we enjoyed some Fabulous wine selections.
We always love the live music and last night Fernando was performing. He went above and beyond. He literally took a special night for the family and made it MAGICAL. We love him! We love Henry’s!
Small but tasty menu with great live music! We will definitely go back!
We had such an amazing time here. The waiter was amazing and the musician was outstanding. It was so fun to sing along with the music while eating exceptional food. I just thought this place was so different from all the other upscale restaurants I've eaten at.
Great experience, we will come back!
This is a great restaurant with very gourmet food and great service in a beautiful setting! Live music added a lot to the ambiance as well.
The guitar player was a bit loud but that said, he was good. We enjoyed the music. Everything else was fantastic.
The food was fantastic and the musical entertainment was off the chart
Our 4th visit and our last. Pre-C19 this was a great place for outside fine dining. Great food, service and ambiance. It's sad to see what the C19 lockdowns have done to this once great dining spot. While service was good, food was not inspiring, and the view and ambiance shattered by the loud, nonstop music and 'banter" of the single guitar player more interested in "interacting" with diners than playing background music so diners could enjoy the venue, food and converse.
I understand that restaurants were hit hard by the pandemic mandates and I certainly feel for them and what they must do to survive. However, we will monitor the menu and it may be a while before we head back to Henry's.
Very good food.Very good food.Very good food. Thank you.
Henry's was great. Good setting and great service
This was a fun occasion, but we found the restaurant on Yelp and assumed the restaurant would be easily accessible to locals. Unfortunately when we went to valet our car for the reservation, we were turned away and told to go find parking at the beach. Not exactly the reception you’d expect for fine dining.
The waitress, was nice, but a little over the top. I think she said thank you to us forty or fifty times. The musician, was very talented with an amazing memory for both lyrics and names of the guests, however he kept teasing his second set which was going to be off the hook and told my wife and myself he was coming back to us for a request. We bought coffee and dessert to stick around for that second set as he packed up for the night. I guess the next set was the next day. We were disappointed but did leave him a tip anyway. He did make the night special even if he wasn’t completely honest.
We had the steak which was plated over a delicious sauce with asparagus and the tres leches cheesecake for dessert. Both were delicious, but being treated like a second class citizen by the valet and the inconvenience of parking will probably keep me from coming back.
Excellent service, live music and great tapas
I have been to this hotel/restaurant for years, but this was the first time since it changed names. The singer tonight has been there forever and is one of my favorites. Super disappointed they took out the fire pit. That was my favorite part of going there as people could sit around it and meet one another, etc.
The entertainment “Fernando” was fantastic. He engaged the audience and we all sang to his music
Drinks and food were also terrific.
We ordered the white fish “Branzino” based on our server’s recommendation and WOW was he right. It was excellent!
Thank you guys for being patient for my wife’s birthday. You guys did a outstanding job managing our time.
Absolutely terrible food. Every single meal was bad
Excellent dinner for 4. The service was superb and so was the food. The menu is a bit limited but worth it in quality. I was pleasantly surprised.
Wonderful view. Lovely setting. The menu is limited. Service is good.
Our date night at Henry’s was a great experience. The food was delicious. The ambience and view were a great vibe. Live music was a surprise. Service was top notch. The ONLY thing that could be better is a bigger menu. There was only 4 entree options. I’m not sure if this is normal or was because of Covid. Regardless I’ll go back.
My best friend and I came for the special Daou wine dinner. It was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to attend another special event at Henry’s! I highly recommend dining here for any occasion.
Sat down to live music playing
Which was so nice to hear
As entertainment has been severely lacking due to COVID
The singer/ guitar player did an excellent job with songs from Jack Johnson to James Taylor
The food was just awesome as well from their lobster salad to their duck appetizer and tuna entree
The beer was great and the wine was great
Patio provides best view. Food and service is good, but ambiance is just okay.
The food was outstanding. The pork chop is not your ordinary chop. The server described it as the Wagyu of Pork Chops, and was he right on! Much more fat content than the usual chop, which made it much more tender and flavorful. The salmon was one of the best my wife has ever had, and the lyonnaise potatoes were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the seasoning was on point. Also the pork belly appetizer was really good as well. All in all, a huge surprise and thumbs up to Henry the chef.
Fish entree was ok. Vegetable sides, bread and cocktails were delicious.
1st there isn’t very much in door sitting it felt like everyone and everything was crammed into one area that includes the bar and the TV’s they had an excellent performer awesome singer but you couldn’t really enjoy him since everything is crammed into the same area ! We sat by the back door in the corner every time that door was opened we froze then the door would stay opened we either had to get up ourselves or wait for one of the employees to come and close it! Even the manger himself used that door and left it opened! As for the service after the first glass of wine we had to pour our own most of the time we had order 2 bottles of wine! Then we order the gathering that was a lot of food for such a small table we had to eat fast in order to get our plates removed for the next serving! Then at the end we were enjoying our wine and our waiter suggested that we take it back to our room and finish it there for me having spent $500.00 I excepted a lot better everything! As for the food it would have been nice if someone would have taken the time to introduce the items to us as they were brought out to the table! I was so looking forward to going now I’m not planning to go back I feel I definitely didn’t get what I paid for!!!!
While the location is quite nice, the food and value was a disappointment. The menus was very limited in choices and the prices were quite steep. I feel the restaurant is designed to the captive hotel guest who doesn't have the choices offered in so many other OC restaurants. Definitely not a venue for locals.
I will start by saying that our waiter Jeff was hands down the best waiter ever. Was very knowledgeable and passionate about the food and drinks. The food was amazing and would recommend getting the lyonnaise potatoes in addition to any entree. Also the conductor has to be the best old fashioned i have ever had. I would highly recommend going
What a lovely find. Every thing about our experience was delicious.
This was phenomenal, and a surprise for a hotel restaurant. I had the raw salmon appetizer and the beet dish. So fresh and creative. I also had dessert, a Napoleon type dish. Beautiful presentations, too. I hope to come back!
My husband and I had dinner at Henry’s and had opposite experiences. I had the salmon and it was delicious. The side vegetables were special and tasty. My husband’s ribeye was a disappointment. He rarely complains but did not enjoy this cut that was resembling New York steak cut. It was also not warm. Mixed review, sorry.
Excellent service! Unique dishes with some ingredients made on premises. Nice bar too. Will be back for a sunset meal and drinks.
The setting is beautiful and the staff was very attentive and it was a very nice experience.
Amazing food, fabulous ambiance and ridiculously great service.
Good service. Excellent food. The manager came over and talked with us about the restaurant and the chef. He said the menu changes frequently, so it sounds like a good opportunity to return and try other items.
This review is overdue, we visited Henry’s for the 5th time, this time for a celebratory business dinner. The restaurant is perfect for this type of occasion, but also great for when you just want to treat yourself, family or friends. It’s a terrific setting, sheltered and private but near enough to the casual environment of an inviting pool bar to keep it from being stuffy - and the blue Pacific waves crashing in sight.
We have ordered both the tasting meal and a la carte, and frankly don’t see the point in a la carte -the menu just gets in the way of terrific servers who are well schooled on preparations, available ingredients and wine pairings. The choice to put oneself in the hands of the chef can be scary, but it is always the right decision at Henry’s. In return for answering a few questions for your server, you will be treated to exceptional dishes that suit whatever food preferences you need to honor. Portions are neither precious nor extravagant, and your palate will be the winner.
On our most recent visit we were treated to an extraordinary amuse bouche involving both roasted and puréed cauliflower paired with a glass of Sanger Champagne, one of the loveliest bubblies I’ve ever enjoyed, with a terrific origin story. A hearty salad of butternut squash and baby kale, paired with a Sancerre that beautifully offset the rich squash. Perfectly caramelized scallops with edges just crisped paired with Shafer Chardonnay followed (I could have been done at this point but there were men with healthier appetites) so platters of gorgeous King Salmon, Rib-eye steak, lyonnaise potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts pushed me to the delicious edge of “Thanksgiving food coma.” A gorgeous Bordeaux was the perfect mate to these richer dishes. Mille Feuille dessert was nice but superfluous.
This is haute cuisine, improbably in Huntington Beach. Wear your flip-flops but don’t come looking for a cheap tourist meal, this is an investment in nourishing your senses. Cheers!
Went to Henry’s in Huntington Beach recently and was very impressed. Lovely setting and ambiance with attentive staff. Great menu with some unique dishes like Mandalacia pork. Also the salmon appetizer was delicious. Our waiter Jeff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall great experience which stems from great management. Highly recommend Henry’s
First, I'll begin with the positives of the waiter and the sommelier Jay were spectacular! They both went above and beyond to give my husband and I exceptional service. Jay was so knowledgeable and thoroughly explained every wine with our food pairing in such detail regarding everything from the key tasting notes, to the exact regions, grapes, soil and climate and why and how it paired with each course. We really enjoyed that part of our experience.
Now for the food. Ugh. I'll first start by saying our bill was $340 for 2 people!!! However, We don't mind paying for quality experiences. But this was a true disappointment. We started with the kale salad that was very good. Then it went downhill. The salmon appetizer was awful. Very fishy but did not taste much like salmon. My husband and I took one small bite each and were done.
We then each ordered the octopus...usually my favorite and most nice restaurants. This dish tasted old and fishy and was very dry and chewy...overcooked, yet slimy. Again, we took a couple of bites and asked to bag it and take to our dogs.
Then on to the steak, that was actually exceptional. We especially loved the lemon zest twist. And then ended with a lemon dessert that was mediocre.
I wouldn't have felt obligated to leave a review if we didn't spend so much money but come on, when your paying Napa Valley restaurant prices that's the kind of quality you expect all the way around.
Truly disappointing food.
The experience as a whole was pretty terrible. It was Christmas dinner and I was surprised how many staff were working and the service was still poor. It wasn’t busy by any means and it took us 20+ mins to get a drink every time we ordered one. The outside door to the patio was constantly left wide open and the cold air breeze was directly in our table. We asked several times for it to be shut. The carrot soup was beans with a lukewarm broth poured over it table side. If you are going to go that far outside the bounds in creative food then you should at least tell the person ordering that it was unconventional. It was bland and came barely warm. When I asked for Parmesan cheese to put on my risotto the server said they didn’t have Parmesan and be out me goat cheese instead. Really? The chicken was good on one side but then pure fat on the other half - so disappointing. Then when we left the valet took our ticket and misplaced it so we ended up waiting 25 mins for the car. When we finally asked if it was on the way up the valet apologized profusely so we didn’t mind so much. When the valet asked us how dinner was and we told him the food and service were terrible he responded saying that is what he’d been hearing from most people. No wonder every time was available on open table when we reserved. So disappointing especially since it’s so close to home. I have never bothered to write a review before because even when things are slightly wrong I give people the benefit of the doubt but I would really not recommend spending your money here unfortunately.
Great experience. Staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Food is fairly priced for the quality. Will definitely be back to Henry's.
Everything was absolutely perfect- from the food suggestions; service; food quality ambiance and all!
