   In Richmond for a girl friend getaway and dined at Helen’s. Food was delicious! We each had the house specialty of mussels along with sharing the carrots and beet salad. The flavors were absolutely amazing. Not to be missed

   Helen's has become one of our favorite dining spots in Richmond. I go there for the mussels which I think are the best in the entire region, but always try a different entree and so far have been completely impressed. Literally everything is great here, small wonder they are always busy.

    The food was all good, the food was unusual and delish. The Roasted Chicken has amazing flavor and a unique taste, the Basil Pecorino pasta is delightful. The Shrimp and Grits, though not traditional having no andouille, have a unique “ low country gravy” which is spectacular. Then there is the service. The  server/bartender knocked it out of the park.  Our every request was met beyond expectation.

    I had goggled resturants near the Alteria Theater and Helen's wasnone that came up. We looked over the menue and location and decided to try it. There were 4 in our party and our meals where fantastic. We all plan on going back again. Thank you for making our night out perfect.

    Delicious as always! I had the chicken breast and my dining partner ordered the burger. We shared the crispy brussel sprouts. Everything delivered hot and perfectly prepared. And that garlic aioli sauce! I could eat it with a spoon. Helen’s is always dependable for a tasty meal and good service

    My pasta dish was wonderful, the pork was very good. The fish was pricey and the flavor was lost with lots of spices. The cocktails were excellent.

    Another delicious, casual meal at Helen's. Service very good. Pasta dishes well executed and seasoned. Short ribs were a hit, being tender and flavorful. Desserts were good, too, but wished they would bring back the rosé poached peaches dessert that was stellar!

    Fantastic food. Helens has been around forever but it felt updated and energetic. Delicious cocktails. The carrots were a favorite. We all loved our dishes. Service was attentive and helpful. Energetic for sure but we loved the vibe.

    Our experience was outstanding. Great food, great ambience, excellent service! We had both carnivores and vegetarians with us and everyone was knocked out by their meal. It was getting noisy by about 7 so I’m glad we went early. A definite favorite for us. We will be back if we find ourselves in Richmond again

    We loved the funky, casual atmosphere at Helen’s, and the service was fantastic. My husband enjoyed the mushrooms on crostini and his mussels. The tomato soup was very flavorful, but my scallops were just too complicated with too much “stuff” on the plate that obscured the taste — too much sauce! The scallops and excellent vegetables would have been much better without the sauce. I’m thinking a simpler menu choice would have been better. Also, we completely understand that a restaurant needs multiple turns on a Friday night, but it’s off-putting when the hostess seats you and says, “This table is reserved again at 7:15.” We also had a reservation; there was plenty of time and a skilled server can always move things along.
