The name Hapa is derived from the Hawaiian term that describes a harmonious blend of Asian and American cultures. Like our name, our food reflects this dynamic combination. The menu is based on traditional Japanese cooking fundamentals which are then amplified, muted, or mixed with influences from many different styles of cooking until they are something completely new: they're Hapa. We have stretched the boundaries of creativity to develop dishes that defy all the rules while holding true to our roots. My husband and I love this place! Best happy hour around, we dined on the patio on a beautiful and sunny Saturday. Our waitress,Mary,was so sweet and attentive. Great service, great food, been here many times and it’s always consistently good!

Hapa is consistently fantastic and I speak from experience having gone there since it opened 17 years ago. I’m a little sad to see them move up the street but time marches on!!! A great lively fun atmosphere. The crafter drinks were good, the Wagyu Bao buns were a bit tough but the flavor was very goid. The rolls were excellent and a really good size for the price. Would definitely go back!

Hapa had managed to maintain professional excellent service during a challenging time for restaurants. Its happy hour is a great value! The waitstaff is wonderful, especially Zack! It’s nice to be able to go to a restaurant and have great food and service every time you go!

We thoroughly enjoyed a birthday celebration outside on the Hapa patio with awesome outdoor heaters blowing. We arrived for happy hour and took full advantage. Diner warning: even at happy hour a bill can reach the $125 mark easily (we were two adults and one child). However, the sushi is divine and the service was wonderful.

Sushi was decent. The place was way over packed, service was sub-par. Tables too close together trying to maximize revenue for sure. Just not the right environment for a relaxing meal. Better options out there.

We had a great Christmas Eve dinner at Hapa. We had to wait a few minutes for our table so they gave us a free edamame. Then an entree was a little delayed & they took it off our bill. Despite the crowds, our waiter was attentive & the manager was going out of his way to make sure everyone had a nice experience. Always impressed with Hapa!

Going to Hapa in Boulder is like a little trip to NYC. It’s bustling with young people and has great energy. The food is fresh and we always get excellent service!

We had a good time. It was loud. A few food items were described well when we asked questions (like the green top mussels)… had we received accurate info we would not have ordered it. The server was good. However, he left the check and I put down my card and the bill came back $35 higher because he forgot to add drinks. You should inform someone of an error before running their credit card for a higher amount. Not worth $200 for a dinner for two

I called ahead to say we were running late and, when we arrived, we were seated immediately. It was very busy but our server took our order and we got our food and drink promptly. Both my special sushi and my husband’s chicken teriyaki were delicious.

I love this place! The last visit was happy hour with my date. We had such a fun time. The cocktails and food were great. We had Colorado Hamachi, Crispy Seared Ahi, Kobe Carpaccio, the Shumai and the Magic Mushrooms. I totally recommend all of these. Brad our waiter was awesome and attentive, but not overly. My date and I will be back soon!

Sushi was mediocre at best but the service was good and we had a good date night out despite being disappointed with the sushi. It was a chilly night but the heaters on the patio were sufficient to keep us comfortable. The miso soup came out barely warm, as did the hot sake. Cocktails were good.
