   The service and food there were good as usual. However, my wife ordered one of their red bull drinks and they did not disclose that they were out of the particular flavor until after it was served. Honestly made the drink very subpar.

   The lady who confirmed my reservation was extremely helpful. I don't remember her name but she was in a gold top and black pants. She made sure we were ok and constantly apologize as we had to wait longer before having sitted. I give her thumbs up. She is wonderful. You have a good worker please keep her. Thank you.

   We dined hear for Mother's Day dinner and it was our first time trying this restaurant, however, I have experienced a similar type of restaurant previously. That being said our experience was good, but it could have been much better. We had a reservation, and we were seated after a few minutes wait. It's very cold in the dining room, which is understandable with all the grills going--I just wish I had brought a jacket. Our friendly server greeted us a few minutes after sitting down, giving us one menu for the table of three people, and quickly taking our drink orders. After bringing us our drinks we were able to put our order in, and then we waited. Our food slowly trickled out. It would have been better if they had brought out all of the items that needed to be grilled at once, so that all of our food would be ready around the same time. We enjoyed our food--it was tasty. Enjoyed grilling our meats and veggies. Our waiter was nice, and the owner came out and greeted us, and asked us about our experience. It's obvious that they had been slammed with customers all day and short staffed. So maybe I would try this place again, but not on a holiday.

   This was surprisingly fun.  Cooking food at our own table made it that much cooler… We got to do it at our own pace, and choose what we wanted when we wanted it! Everything was fresh… One strange item was broccoli with cheese at the beginning, which didn’t really make sense for Japanese food… Finishing off with Smores was also a little bit weird BUT it really made sense seeing that we got to cook our own marshmallows… We were stuffed, but it was worth it.  Our waiter was fabulous also.  So I would highly recommend it, especially for a party or anytime actually… Have fun ❤️

   The food was amazing, best Jbbq I’ve ever been to, but the service was not up to par. It took us like 30 mins after ordering to get our meats served to us. The people sitting next to us got their meats first but we came way before they did. Service was overall not great but food was fantastic

   Our server Jerald was fantastic. Very attentive and personable, and overall gave a great experience to our visit. We ordered the yakiniku set for 4, and there was plenty of food to go around!

    We got the 4 person dinner. It came with way more food than I expected. Everything was good, but my favorite was whatever was brought out first, and a close second was the pork at the end that was sweet and spicy. Everything was delicious.

    Everything was fine until by the end of the check they give to me and then I looked at it I couldn’t believe they changed me for $2 for a little tiny extra wasabi since I spend over 100 dollars for the food so just wanted you to know that this business owner was not generous person and be aware of the bill when you get one when you finish your meal

    Perfect experience. Fresh beef, just the right amount, pleasant marinade (not too strong or overwhelming) and already cut down to bite size. Although, in contrast to other similar establishments, Gyu-Kaku may charge you extra for soup and other side orders. Service was timely. Ambience, just right. I'd like to see them in a bigger place one day, a bit tight.

    When you first see the menu and think that the group menu choice is too expensive, it really isn't. I went for my birthday/ valentines day with my boyfriend and we accidentally ordered the exact same amount that the price for 2 bundle would be just with our own choices and it was the exact same price. Now this only worked because we didn't order any of the expensive beef, but what we did order was delicious! Will definitely be back soon.

    Sad they didn't have the all you can eat option and HH is only Mon thru Thursday. However, the decor, service, and food quality were amazing so I got over it quickly. It's easily one of my favs (even if a little costly to order ala carte)

    I enjoy going out to Japanese grill when they do most of the work. I cool often and go out so I don’t have to cook myself. I’m Korean and have been doing Korean bbq all my life. Yes, I cook as needed at my table but only when I see something about to burn. At places like shin chon they do most of the cooking for you. I just didn’t expect a completely hands off grill or maybe they looked at me and thought I’d be doing it all by myself…

    I was so excited that Gyu- Kaku was coming to the area. This location only does a la carte and no AYCE. I made reservations the same day and was able to grab a table. My 2 friends and I decided to go for the Meat Lovers. This was plenty for 3 people. We decided to upgrade 3 of the following beef Sukiyaki Bibimbap, Prime Kalbi short rib sweet tare and the harami skirt steak miso. Starting off with the sides the portions were just perfect. The salad was more of a mixed salad. We loved the fresh tomatoes, greens and miso dressing. The bibimbap had a lot of meat and the hot stone making the rice crispy was perfect. The Gyu sushi is a must order and highly recommend for each person to try. We wanted the full experience so we added the cheese corn butter, harami skirt steak 3.5 oz and the Gyu- Tan negi. The beef tongue was so tender and delicious. Definitely recommend adding the scallion oil as a dipping option. I really enjoyed my experience here. A little disappointed they don't offer AYCE, but its quality here. Our waiter Channing was amazing! Went over the different cuts of meat and cooking times. The kitchen manager and other staff members came out to check on us as well. The location just hit 3 months and it's really clean. Great place to come enjoy some Asian fusion dishes and Japanese BBQ. Don't forget to redeem and earn your rewards points via the app as well. With the preset large group menus, you get a nice variety of all of the top cuts. I'll definitely be back to try their other pre set menus and starters.

    2nd time dinning and the miso soup is at correct temp but not last visit which was cold. Would like to see that if the beer glass be chilled up bit much better. However one of our premium beef it was not sliced properly a big slap instead of thinly slice individually shabu shabu style and I have to struggle n cut it. However went there for our special occasion and thought they may have some ‘little surprises’ in store but none not a big deal.

    Overall it's good. The food is fresh and delicious. They are still lacking of some alcohol serving like cocktails. Also they have new staff who is not very familiar with their menu.

    Great experience that’s similar to Korean BBQ but definitely different, DIY BBQ on your own grill on table and you cook at your own pace. I had sushi, beef tongue, ribeye steak, short rib Kalbi, and spicy beef ramen. Gyu-Kaku is a MUST if you are looking for Asian food night out!

    We went for my husbands birthday and it was great! It was our first time here and we tried one of the meals for 4. We were pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. It included soup, salad, appetizers and so much meat! We had fun grilling the meats on our table grill and trying the sauces and dips. The spicy pork was a favorite as were the appetizers. The servers were great and helped us know how long to cook everything. The s'mores for dessert were the perfect end to our meal.

    The quality of meat was really good and great flavors. Everything was good except the fact that they place lacked proper ventilation/exhaust. It was cold outside and 5 minutes into dining I felt I was going to pass out and felt nauseated because of the heat from the stove since there wasn’t proper exhaust for the heat to escape. BBQ 101 have a proper exhaust.

    First time here and had a great experience. The service staff was friendly, quick, and very attentive. Food was excellent. Our favorites were the takoyaki (best we’ve had in the area), hamari in secret pot and toro beef. Of course the kids had a blast with the s’mores deserts.

    This establishment opened three weeks ago. Staff was friendly. Our waitress Shirley was excellent and knowledgeable about the menu. We got the chef's menu for 2 and we were very concerned we weren't going to finish the food. Which we didn't but the bonus was you get to take any leftovers with you! The meat was flavorful and the prime cuts of meat were on the money. The salad and bibimbap are good to even have as a la carte. I do plan on returning for sure. This place this will turn into a major spot especially when they get their liquor license! Plus I'm glad I can just drive to Columbia for Japanese BBQ than all the way to Rockville.

    Had an 8pm reservation and was seated fairly quickly but left after about 20 minutes of just sitting there with no acknowledgement, no drink, and not being greeted by any waiter, my wife and I just left. They don't serve alcohol here and it wasn't that busy. The food on the menu looked delicious! Too bad I will never know.
