Glen Rock Mill Inn
Built in 1837 as a woolen mill, the historic Glen Rock Mill Inn features dining areas adorned by rough hewn 14″ beams, original stone and brick work, a spring-fed fountain, and a collection of antiques, many from the 19th century and a full bar and lounge area.
We look forward to serving you in one of south central Pennsylvania’s most attractive and romantic historic landmarks.
We had excellent service! Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. Food was absolutely delicious!! Everyone was very attentive by checking on us yo see if we needed anything, refilling waters. We asked if we could look around the beautiful restaurant when we were leaving and our waitress so very kindly walked us around and gave us some history as well as telling us about the renovations and updates. We had a lovely time and have already told many people about our wonderful experience! Thank you so much! We will definately be returning!
My friend recommended that we try the Glen Rock. It was a fantastic experience. Even with a limited Valentines Day menu the food was outstanding. My guy had the Beef Wellington and I had seafood linguine with spinach, shrimp , scallops and lobster. I usually take food home but not this time. I cleaned my plate because I couldn't bear to waste any. He really enjoyed his meal also. We are still talking about the food and the excellent service. We sat in the main room near some stairs to the basement and were quite comfortable. I'm usually cold but not this time. I was a great experience and we will be going back soon to sample the regular menu. Highly recommend.
Absolutely fantastic dinner. My husband and I live about 15 mins away and we will certainly be back!
Brunch was first rate. The buffet was set up nicely and the food excellent. Staff was attentive and the entire experience was very enjoyable. We'll be back!
The atmosphere was wonderful and our waitress/Josie was awesome. For the amount of money the food cost , I expected much more. The duck was mostly fat and very little meat. The prices were just rediculous. We even got desert because we were still hungry and still left hungry. The high seats should not exist.
Very nice place we had dinner in the room with the water activity nice room but we kept feeling a draft wishing we had our coats on but who wants to eat with their coats on? Lobster in the seafood dish were over cooked but everything else was good wait staff was excellent nice evening out
Great place in the middle of no ware. Food was fantastic to boot.
Food good. Waitress very good. A bit cold inside. Miss the veggie wrap they had on the dinner menu awhile back.
Awesome environment with great service and fantastic food.
I took my family out for my wife's birthday and we had great meal and perfect evening. Our server (wish I could remember his name) was outstanding and the rest of the staff was really attentive, too. It was a Wednesday night and part of our table got the 2 dine for $39 which was very good. The other entrees were wonderful and my NY strip steak was cooked perfectly. I can't say enough good things about the Mill; it seems to get better each time we go and the new chef/owners have taken a great restaurant and made it better. Can't wait to go back!
A unique setting in an old mill building. The food was fine, but it seems they try too hard to be “gourmet”. It needn’t be overthought.
Often ride by on the way to our son's house. Looks so inviting especially with the outdoor seating in the summertime. My lady friends and I had a special lunch. Food was delicious and the service was right on point.
Well worth the ride from Maryland. Chilly day and we sat by the fireplace. Can't get better than that. My French onion soup was amazing!
Enjoyable evening will go again. Not inexpensive but good value. Great evening spent just talking with my wife.
The Glen Rock Mill Inn is becoming my new favorite place to eat and enjoy time with friends and family. Everything is exceptional.
Nicely restored mill with nice touches. Easy, relaxing ambience with attentive but unobtrusive service. Good food with good company. We will be back.
Had a wonderful, unrushed, afternoon sharing delicious food at a leisurely pace with long distance friends. Our waitress was attentive and accomodating without being intrusive. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.
We love the Glenn Rock Mill Inn and especially their wine pairing dinners. Never disappointed. The new owners took the place to the next level and now we have a great fine dining restaurant to frequent!
Delicious brunch. We went as a group of volunteers-they had a nice table card for us!
Wow, we were blown away. We live locally and pass by all the time but have never tried it. We have really been missing out! We were seated by the owner who gave us the history of room. Everyone was so very nice, and we even got a tour of the building and rooms by our waitress. The food is out of this world! Everything cooked to perfection! We had drinks, starters, main course, and dessert. Every bit of it blew us away. The service was beyond outstanding! We will most definately be making this one of our go to spots for a special night out. Very romantic and so much history!
We had a great time and enjoyed our meal. We will be coming back again.
I took my family there to celebrate my mother's birthday when she was in town.
Sunday brunch is a very pleasant experience at Glen Rock Mill Inn. The careful selection of dishes provides possibilities for everyone. If I had one issue with the brunch: I always wish the roast beef would be hotter. Lukewarm at best is not my favorite way to enjoy a nice slice of beef.
I love this place! The food is always fabulous and the service is great! When I want to have a nice dinner, this is the first place I think of going. Thank you Glen Rock!
The atmosphere was pleasant. The wait staff was courteous. The food was prepared properly. The history of the building added to the experience.
Always enjoy our evening with Josie our waitress and the delicious food! Very friendly and cozy atmosphere.
Food is excellent, good friendly service at a reasonable price.
The food and service were Awesome!! They seated us in time and the server was very attentive. Food and Atmosphere were perfect. We will be returning soon.
The entire dining experience was wonderful. The food was great, the service was great. Considering we were out to enjoy NYE 2019 we were hoping for a little more of a festive atmosphere. It also would have been nice to have a place set up for dancing. The drinks at the bar were well made; the only thing we missed was watching the NYE countdown to 2020 on the television; instead there was sports on.
Food was superb. Service was great. Waiter offered suggestion on what wines would be good with our dinner.
Great New Years Eve dinner! Food was amazing both in taste and presentation. Sangrias were awesome. Only drawback was sitting right next to the band.
A great evening at the Glen Rock Mill Inn on New Year's Eve. The dinner was outstanding.
Very nice dinner with special friends!
Everything exceeded our expectations. Ambience is great, food was great and I think a great value for what you get ( we did Sunday brunch)
Glen Rock Mill Inn is a nice place to go for a quiet meal or in the lounge listening to jazz music.
Christmas Eve birthday for our 18 year old daughter. Table was lovely, restaurant is beautiful. Service was great, although our waitress was a little too loud for our comfort. Menu was diverse & appealing. Food was delicious, beautiful presentation, large servings, very reasonably priced.
Glen Rock Mill In will be our “go to” restaurant from now on. Try it. We were happily impressed!
We are very happy to have a restaurant of this quality in our area.
The food was phenomenal and our waitress was great. Thought there would be a little more of a selection of food, but what was there...excellent. Prime Rib made up for the price.
We have lived in the York area for four years and just discovered the Glen Rock Mill Inn. What a gem! We will certainly be back!
This historic Inn has been lovingly redone. It is beautiful and full of character. We have been there twice.
The first time we went with two friends. We were seated in a room on the main level at a table for four. My husband’s fish was underdone and cold on the inside. The rest of our order was well prepared.
This time we also went with two friends. We were seated in the cellar (in December) at a table for 4. It was cold. Next to us was a small, gas heater. Above us was a ceiling fan set on low with 1 out of 4 bulbs lit. There was a lit candle on the table. There was a salt and a pepper shaker; salt one was empty. My husband asked to have the ceiling fan turned off but still needed to wear his coat for the meal. The food was tasty. The waiter was very friendly with a great sense of humor. We spent about 2 hours there and even saw Santa Claus!
The next day we saw other friends who had also been there the evening before. They were seated in the lounge area. They also remarked how cold it was. Note: if going in the winter, wear layers. These old inns get quite chilly!
