Chips, béarnaise sauce
Brilliant steaks, nice energy and ambience, thoroughly good night.
Service was very slow, waiting staff did not ensure requests were met and certainly did not care when we highlighted any issues. Considering one of the main items on your menu is steak, my fillet was not cooked as requested on either the first or second time of asking. Vegan ice cream was given as part of our meal, despite asking for 'normal' ice cream. When asked by the staff if we had had a good time and we replied 'Not really', no-one asked why or delved any deeper. They simply did not seem to care whatsoever. Overall a very disappointing experience, we would not revisit and would certainly not recommend.
Excellent service by Nico. Well cooked and presented meals. I shall come again
The food was delicious. The service was next level. And the delivery of the surprise gifts I had purchased for my partner for her birthday was just fantastic.
Overall, Gaucho’s is the place to go and I cannot recommend it enough!
Not the best experience. After placing our order our food took forever. When finally they brought it they have left the starter in the kitchen and they bought the main dish. We were not charged for it, but spoiled the dinner.
The steak was perfect but the desert was average at best.
The female toilets didn’t have toilet roll either. All in all, a very average experience
Not a great service. The steaks came then we waited 5 mins for the chips and sauces.
No smiles from the staff just interested in trying to sell you as many side dishes as they can.
we had an amazing experience at Gaucho Birmingham
would definitely return
This experience was great, food was so tasty. We will definitely come back soon!
We really enjoyed our meal, ticked all the boxes :)
Great service, great steak. Too many noisy lads tables.
Service felt rushed, starters arrived within about five minutes of ordering and then main was put down before the starter plates had even been removed. Very very loud! Not what we were expecting considering how expensive it is. The food was nice but overpriced.
The food and service was outstanding, it was my first visit, I will definitely be returning.
Nice meal in a nice restaurant with a good menu selection.
The staff are very helpful and friendly.
Need more vegetarian options, had to just order sides, portion size very small, £12 for cheese platter and only small amount of cheese
What can we say except fantastic service, incredible food and lovely atmosphere.
1. Requested at time of booking booth table...none reserved for us on arrival, so had to have table with chair and bench sofa.
2. Steak was excellent...side dishes mediocre. Pudding was inedible (cheesecake???) Thick, dense texture, little taste and difficult to digest. At £9.50 it was poor value and bore little resemblance to any cheesecake I have experienced in the past 40years of fine dining.
3. Very, VERY limited menu for starters, sides and beers - NO Argentinian beers on offer!
4. The A/C kicked in at around 5.30pm and blasted out icy air everywhere - many ladies reached for cardigans, wraps, coats and jackets to cover shoulders...on cold October evening - 55deg outside!
5. Not good value, massively overpriced food & drinks - modest cocktail (could barely taste the rum) was £13.50. I had the same the week before on a cruise and it was $8 (about £6 - and contained a double shot of rum!)
6. Dark, gloomy decor. Black walls and ceiling, poor lighting - stark and cold. Cheaply furnished...mundane tableware and cutlery. Wait staff in shabby uniforms - white shirts/black trousers / skirts. Nothing elite or special about it at all to warrant West End prices...very disappointing.
Popped next door into FAZENDA, another Argentinian restaurant when we left and what a massive contrast! Warm, bright, cosy, welcoming (shown around whole restaurant & bar despite being very busy.) It has better choice of food & drinks menus - and is more reasonably priced.
We have booked a booth table for big family occasion in November!
Fantastic meal and great service would highly recommend
It was a beautiful restaurant with beautiful food and wine. Service was impeccable
This place has sadly gone downhill. I hadn’t been in several years and had very fond memories from previous trips but the food quality has gone down a lot. The service was friendly but lacking eg. Nobody asking us if we wanted more drinks, not filling up our water glasses often enough, forgetting our mustard etc. The salt was provided in sachets like at a motorway service station which I thought was awful. Also they had ran out of sugar so my husband was offered sweetener with his coffee instead (yuck). Our share platter was good apart from the sirloin which was chewy. My friends sirloin was awful, very chewy and had a big sinew down middle. Our collective bill for 4 people was £450 which was outrageous for the quality. We won’t be coming back sadly.
Food was excellent, I understand lighting levels but was a bit dark and also a bit loud at times but that was due to how busy the restaurant was.
Overall fantastic evening, had never been before but would definitely revisit again in the future.
Keep up the great work.
Was served by Gabby, she was very attentive.
Lovely touch for our anniversary bringing a plate out that said "Happy Anniversary"
Service was amazing, staff were very polite and accommodating
Thanks to Gabby we enjoyed our meal, she was attentive and helped where she could. My only issue was that there was a few chewy bits in the steak which were inedible, for a place like gaucho i would expect the beef to be of very good quality.
Everything else was really good
A delicious meal and great service in stylish surroundings...what's not to love!
I loved it, I wanna come again and enjoy the cuisine here.
Went there to treat my missus for her birthday. We both had the chateaubriant and were recommended exactly the type of wine that we wanted with it. Marco was our waiter and he made us feel like royalty the entire evening. Flawless steak, flawless experience. Worth every penny. Will definitely return.
Incredible experience, food was amazing… would defo recommend for a special occasion best meal I’ve ever had in Birmingham
I had a fillet steak, lovely and lean
My son had T-bone and said it was very tasty.
The carrots and spinach was a good portion size and well presented.
had a great time, thank you.
my only disagreement is including 10% service charge, you should let people tip as they feel fit. Frankly it would have been more than 10% as we were delighted with the meal and service.
For a steak restaurant I thought the steak wasn’t cooked the best and the overall taste of the meal wasn’t wow. Just a standard steak meal that we could of cooked better ourselves.
The restaurant itself was dark and dingy.
The waitress who served us was excellent no complaints with the service she provided.
Too much oil on food. Did not like being made to tip I choose how much I tip. So had it taken off bill.
Great food and service.
My wife decided on the steak salad and I had the 300g ribeye without any marinade.
I decided to have a salad instead of the chips and it was presented in a tiny bowl and was bland. The meat tasted no different to the ribeyes I cook every Saturday night so disappointing for me. Price of the wine was expensive as they were 175ml measures.
Overall, expensive meal and wine for a 3 star experience
Terrible service, vegatbles looked 14 days old, chips were cold. Drinks took 20 minutes, steak was sent back. Awful compared to when it first opened. Very disappointed.
Really excellent service all round and the quality of the food was excellent, our server Mario was fantastic for the entire evening and they even personalised our dessert for our anniversary. Fantastic all round experience and I would highly recommend
food not cooked how we asked, fries were solid and crunchy, booked for anniversary and was put on a table by the toilet. server got 10% tip for bringing food a few steps away from the pass and never really felt like he was about. i welcome the suggestions but felt more forced into picking what server said, if i want that steak and cooked that way should i not be able to get it as im paying? biggest dissapointment was you have not upgraded you online pictures so we felt we had got the wrong restaraunt at first and i booked with you for the feel i got looking at your pictures but did not get the same feel when we arrived and seen the new layout. if i had known i would not have booked. wont be returning but thanks for the experience.
Food, service and hospitality all excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and would recommend Gaucho to all.
Thank you to our agent Tia, very helpful and very nice!
Food was absolutely amazing
Service was non existent, i didn’t even get asked if I wanted a drink. No questions asked about our meal or time there. Wait time was long due to not clearing plates. Steak was chewy and vegetables were over seasoned which ruined the whole meal.
Very nice. Would go back anytime. My only comment would be the music was very loud and every table spoke loudly to hear one another.
The steak was the best I’ve ever had, it’s definitely worth the money, it’s not cheap but the quality is there and you pay for what you get, good wine great service I loved it
