I loved this place so much. The ambiance was perfect and the food was exceptional. A few of our crew were on a clean eating cleanse and the chicken and veggies, and gluten free pasta primavera were so tasty you didn't feel like you were sacrificing anything. Also, the chicken marsala was great too.
I can't wait to go back and try the pizza.
FUMO is a family favorite! We can’t get enough of the pasta or seem to leave without ordering food to go. Thanks everyone!
Wonderful place. Great ambient, great service, great food at a great price.
Empty on a Friday afternoon so easy to get seats. Server was very friendly and helped us with narrowing down the many delicious sounding options. I opted for a pasta that included sausage and it was great. My friend had a prosciutto pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will visit again.
Nice restaurant in Harlem and the food was tasty! However due to New Year’s Eve rush, we were kindly requested after 2 hours to leave the table for another booking. What I found less OK and professional.
Best in the area. Consistently great food, service and wonderful atmosphere day or night. Everything I’ve eaten here has been fantastic. It’s our go to place when out of towners are visiting and we have never ever been disappointed. Well done Fumo!
Food and service is consistently great! Love this place!
Love this restaurant. Delicious, easy and cute/trendy
We had reservations for a large group and they seemed very confused when we showed up. We ended up waiting 20 minutes for seating
I've been to Fumo several times and the food is reliable - I've given the service 4 stars because the hostess was great! I originally had a reservation for 4 which turned into 3 however though my 3rd person was late, the hostess still accommodated us with sitting and was gracious/nice and as much as I was apologetic to her, she was apologetic to me!!! Great customer service!!! #youpickedagoodone
Quality food in a very nice setting and beautifully decorated for the holidays! Chick parm, salmon, chick marsala, rigatoni and steak were extremely tasty!!
Ordered a bottle of malbec from wine list though they brought out a different malbec for same price which was actually quite good. Was not a fan of oil mixed with balsamic for bread.
We like coming here and will be back again.
Fantastic pasta and pizza place. Love the vegan options!
Food and service were wonderful. Definitely a repeat place to go.
Absolutely LOVE FUMO!!!! I've been there for dinner and brunch several times and I'm never disappointed! MUST GO!!
Our waiter was so knowledgeable about the drinks, the food, and what went well. Just enough attention, and everything was perfect!
It's a great place, the food is amazing and the feel and ambiance are chill and romantic!
Went there for brunch and fell in love with the place. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and the decor and music was great. My party ordered the meatballs, fritta, chicken and waffles, steak and eggs from the brunch menu. My friends raved about the meatballs. My friends also ordered the bottomless mimosas but they didn't taste that great. I had the Fumo Spritz it was delicious. My only wish was that they would add the Spritz as a bottomless option.
Service was so quick that it looked like they were hoping to rush us out. Salads came in 10 minutes and the main dishes came before we were finished with our salads. Bus boys brusque...waitress was very fine
The customer with the spagetti carbonara said it was poor.
Great food, ambiance and overall vibe! Definitely will go back again!
FUMO is a terrific neighborhood trattoria. Friendly service, good prices, homemade dishes. The new Harlem Renaissance continues.
There were five empty tables and I had to wait because the one other person I was eating with hasn’t arrive. Wish this was listed on the website.
Love the food and service!
Been here for brunch a few times. Love the food (although I always get the chicken and waffles), and the staff is super friendly and efficient. Nice bright atmosphere and reasonably priced. A real find.
None of us live in the neighborhood but were very surprised and pleased to have found Fumo. Everything we ordered was delish and reasonably priced.
Love Fumo but they were off their game Saturday. It was super busy. The appetizers took a really long time and we had kids with us. To fumo’s credit they recognized the delay and gave us free dessert.
We had a family brunch and enjoyed very much. We will be back again.
We've had two family parties here and both times the food and service were excellent!
This was my first visit to Fomo and I will be back. The pasta was delicious.
So I’ve been going to Fumo since Day-One...and I love the place...but I think it’s time for a mid-course adjustment/reality check. With the opening of a second Fumo south of the original spot, they’re obviously doing very well. But some things really need addressing. First...the noise level. The uninsulated walls have always bounced the sound waves around unfettered, but recently the music volume at night has made simple conversation pretty damned hard. For a few hundred bucks, you could hire a sound engineer who would give you a handful of ways to deaden the echo chamber effect that amplifies every single little noise. And please...let’s pay attention to the playlist. Some of the rap that sneaks in is 100% unsuitable for calm dinner ambience! I wanna enjoy my meal...I’m not looking for club tunes with my Chianti! And speaking of the Chianti, it’s time to better curate the wine list. I’m not suggesting to roll out $250 bottles...far from it...what needs to be done is add more (and better) wines at the same price point you’ve already got. There are so many great Italian wines available at the same wholesale price of what you’re serving now that are waaaaay better than what you have on your current list. You could easily double (or triple) the number of wines and stick with a $35-60/bottle price point. Finally, you gotta stay tight on the menu. I can’t remember having a bad meal at Fumo, but last nights Vongole, while fine, was a bit weak. No red pepper heat made for a pretty average dish. You gotta mix things up with the base menu and add some interesting specials featuring currently available products. Will I return to Fumo...of course, but my constructive criticism voiced here is because I really want to keep a good thing going.
Excellent food and service!
Our waitress, Mary, was very rude and it seemed like she was very judgemental and prejudice towards me and my friend who decided to spend dinner outside for once. Her energy towards us was just so low, we didn’t receive a welcoming attitude. She was completely inattentive to our table, only came by 3 times during the whole 2 hours my friend and I were there. It was another server who accompanied us the most. He was the one who brought our food to us, asked us for dessert, took care of our bill. Unfortunately we didn’t catch his name. But I hope our tips went towards him instead.
Super busy but worth the wait.
I wish there were drink specials that start at 3pm. Spending $26 on 2 drinks is a bit too pricey for a weekday afternoon
Great food and good service to match. Not overcrowded but definitely busy. Make reservations in advance. The $10 pasta dish specials on Sundays can’t be beat.
Fumo is a great small Italian restaurant in a convenient location in Harlem. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. It seemed like they were rushing us out a bit at the end and there were open tables. Otherwise, solid experience.
Absolutely amazing food
great location and AMAZING food at these prices. my friend and i literally scraped our plates the food was so euphoric my only issue is the wait time. we were seated and they served us bread about 25 min after us ordering and then our food took another 20 min. the food and vibe make up for the service time but only to an extent. i was very close to canceling the order however i’m glad u stayed to experience the menu.
After being seated waitress took order 20 minutes later. Waited another 30 minutes to be served. Noise level was very high making impossible to talk. Food was good.
Neighborhood find! The pasta and salads are amazing. Our waiter was excellent - attentive and had great timing with the food.
I went on a Sunday for brunch to the Harlem location, do not go. I would definitely try the Broadway location. They were somewhat busy when my friend and I had gotten there, but it cleared up after 20 mins. The girl that greeted us was ok but not really friendly nor did she have an amicable face, still don’t understand why people work in the restaurant industry if they don’t like it! The waitress had a face of depression, we would even say thank you every time she brought something (which was every 35 mins) and she wouldn’t even acknowledge us or our table. At one point she was literary avoiding us and giving everyone else their mimosas. We got one mimosa pitcher, 20 minutes after ordering our glasses, and that’s it because she never came around again when our pitcher ended (waste of a 1.5 hr bottomless). The food was amazing and even the quality of the mimosas, can’t complain about that. The place is beautiful, and it’s not super loud, just wished the music was a tiny bit louder. Lastly, in my reservation, I specified the occasion and noted for them to please sing happy birthday to my bff of 10 years. The waitress never even acknowledged that it was my friends birthday. I felt so bad and had to apologized for the experience. I still regret tipping such bad service, we even felt targeted because we were one of the very few Hispanic customers if not the only ones, in an abundance of Caucasian customers, needless to say also Caucasian staff.....Will never go during brunch or to this location again.
