Founding Farmers - Tysons
Approximately 30% of the menu includes items inspired by the culinary traditions of Virginia in a modern way. Weekend brunch at Founding Farmers Tysons is BUFFET style, with a wide array of breakfast, lunch, salad, entree, and dessert options.
The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.
Sunday buffet brunch is so delicious. Lots of food that is constantly being replenished. Great variety from sweet to savory. Plus they will freshly prepare items such as eggs benedict at no extra cost. The highlight was when they brought specialty items around, including bacon popsicles. Come hungry and make sure to schedule time for a nap afterwards.
Every Saturday and Sunday they have brunch buffet. The food was great!!! We loved it!!
The waitress was very attentive
Was introducing my parents to the restaurant and they loved it. We all ate too much and it was so good. Waitstaff was excellent. Always a good experience dining here
It’s right bloody expensive for what it is. All of their food is delicious do not get me wrong, but the “organic, made from scratch blah blah blah-“ mumbo jumbo really hikes up the price. I could’ve taken the wife and kids to Golden Corral for 1/4 the price, and everyone still would’ve enjoyed themselves.
Good for a one time thing to see what it’s all about, might go again on a special occasion, but that’s about it.
Always an exceptional experience here! I plan to be back soon.
Great brunch buffet. A little pricy but worth it. Make reservations or get there early.
Founding Farmers is a classic, go-to restaurant for creative and delicious food every time.
Everytime I go to any Founding Farmers location, I receive great, attentive service and wonderfully flavored food.
Choice of dishes is not great. Ahi tuna disappointing. Noodles were raw. Crab dip greasy. Not much choice on appetizers. Deviled eggs best choice but I can make those easily at home. Pisco sours were good -- best part
We were there for a business dinner and a reservation for 6:45pm. We didn't get seated until 7:10pm. Waiter was great - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Kitchen was prompt and everything was delivered at the same time. I had lamp chops - expected 4 and received 3. Was told that they would be medium rare - they were medium to medium-well. Potato gratin seemed like it has been lying around for a day or two and was bland at best. I didn't get the green beans - just a handful of arugula thrown on the top of the 3 chops.
Had heard lots of good things about Founding Farmers and was excited to go - disappointed.
This is my 4th visit to this location for lunch and my 4th time of being seated well past the time of the reservation. >20 minutes late this time. Food is very good, consistent and timely served. Facilities are welcoming. In my experience, the hosts never seem to have things under control though it was entertaining watching them try. Just plan on more time at this location at lunchtime.
Good service and food but very busy and loud. It feels it has become more industrial and less farm to table innovate that it perhaps once was. It may be losing some of the unique appeal as it starts to look and feel more mass market. There are more unique experiences in DC now.
Kitchen messed up our food twice third time they got it. Very didsapoibting. This is the third time I have had kitchen service issue with Tyson’s location. Will not be returning!
I planned a business dinner for 10. I had 2 others that wanted to come and I called the phone number on the website to add 2 people. Both times i was told no. That I could not add anyone was frustrating. The person I talked to was the Founding Farmers answering service and NOT the restaurant. When I got to the restaurant the server said "sure, we could have added 2". Sheesh was I upset. The answering service did not have the common sense to transfer me to the restaurant manager.
The waiter Shams was very good , courteous and upbeat and answered all our questions since we were all vegetarians. We had guests from NJ who were visiting us and they were blown away by the food
Met a client here for breakfast and it was a perfect place to conduct some business over a very nice meal.
As always Food was excellent.
Although, chicken pot pie’s “too” was unexpected & a bit hard to eat (due to its shape...) My son said he would have preferred the traditional pot pie
Enjoyable casual fresh dining.
The overall experience was good, but not very memorable, nor did it leave our party with a desire to return. The appetizers were delivered with the entrees which put a damper on the meal. Additionally there was minimal table upkeep and no offering for additional beverages. The meal ended with desserts not in stock.
FF was great as usual. Would have easily rated experience 5 stars but Waiter missed a few things. Still, a awesome experience. Highly recommend.
Do not recommend the Sunday brunch. The only option is buffet and many of the items were cold. The entire brunch experience lacked any type of pizazz. Mediocre at best.
The food was absolutely delicious. Excellent service as well.
Ya had us at Bacon Loli's but then the Brunch kept on coming with so many choices.... the butterfly fried shrimp brought right to our table was incredible.... but those darn Brioche French toast with all the different toppings took care of every ones sweet tooth.... great salad choices... fantastic meat choices Turkey, meat loaf, ham...and if we had room for all those desserts....WELL WORTH THE PRICE, we will be back !
Founding Farmers is a great place but it used to be so much better. When they first opened it was always super busy but the food selection was phenomenal. Since then it seems the business is slowing down and not as busy for brunch, so they’ve cut back on many of the food options. And even some of the quality doesn’t seem to remain.
Went with two other couples for dinner and drinks. Waiter was awesome and food and drinks were great!
Appetizers and dessert were excellent. Dinners were on the heavy side (even the seafood) and not well seasoned. Good overall, but not excellent. Restaurant is super attractive. Fairly loud; not the best choice if you are seeking a quiet dinner. Ingredient quality was superb, but the cooking of those ingredients was mediocre.
First time a this location. Great dinner for a reunion of old friends
Food was delicious. However, it seemed like they were understaffed as service was very slow. It took a long time to get our food and get seated.
Second time at this restaurant and it's definitely a fave. For being in NoVA, the price is excellent for the value - entrees are between $15-30 with a fantastic variety, great selection of apps and drinks, and overall wonderful service. Loved the shrimp and lobster risotto, and the chicken fried steak (which comes with a homemade cream filled donut!) as well as cocktails and bacon blue cheese dates. Will definitely return again (and again and again).
The atmosphere was really nice and the food was scrumptious. The waiter was very attentive and made sure we had an awesome dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Best food and service in Tyson's.
Fantastic server and meal!!! Can't wait to return again!
Using OpenTable is very easy and convenient! We use it to book all our reservations at Founding Farmers.
We went to weekend brunch buffet to celebrate birthdays. The food is very good. The french toast and mac and cheese are my favorite. The turkey was also very good. They have many choices on the buffet including 2 dessert tables. After being seated, we were told there were other special dishes that could be brought directly to the table. My recommendation - chicken pot pie!! Delicious! The only thing on the buffet that I didn’t enjoy were the biscuits for the biscuits and gravy. We had a discussion with our on-the-ball server, Alina, regarding the passed dishes and then the manager, Paris, came over. I discussed the biscuits and she said she would look into that. She thinks she knows how to make them better and said to come back soon to find out. She was great! She gave us the dinner biscuits, which are different than the brunch biscuits, to go and they were delicious.
All was good until:
- we asked for some milk for our toddler, and they charged us $4.50. We would’ve been ok paying it if we were told that there is a small charge for it.
Service and food were excellent. The brunch is so worth the money
Delicious food! Beautiful establishment! Relaxing environment. Great service. Exceptional experience overall.
Every thing was great except for the noise. Very very very loud.
Always slightly let down by this place. The food is decent, but the service is always sub-par.
Had a reservation at 7, some of us got there early and were able to get drinks from the bar which were incredibly well made. We were then seated and had a last minute adjustment to the reservation so they fixed that immediately. We had two servers who took our drink order, again all incredibly well made, as well as brought us our appetizer which was the skillet cornbread. It was delicious and easily shareable among the 6 of us. The rest of the evening was great, all of our questions were answered, and our food came out quickly and perfect. Two of us split the tuxedo cake which was huge and delicious.
