For our money Ferro's is the "go-to" place for us to eat dinner in Idyllwild. The food is excellent. The service is quick. The venue is wonderful with great indoor and outdoor dining available.

We come to Idyllwild every Halloween weekend and always look forward to a meal with friends at Ferro. Best restaurant in town!

Not at all impressed with this restaurant. Having a brilliant wife that cooks everything normally, even she commented that olive garden would pass as better Italian food. Sad.

This was our fifth time at this restaurant and it was a very different experience unfortunately. Our waiter Nathan was outstanding. The less positive features revolved around the following: the seasoning in almost all of our meals was low in either salt, flavorfulness, or seasonings. The lentil soup was very flat and plain, the risotto dishes were very tomaty mostly and full of rice that became somewhat mushy, a pasta dish was loaded with sun-dried tomatoes but lacking flavors of saffron for example, salt and pepper just to name two. In general everything seemed to need salt as a minimum Oddly enough also, the music was louder from the moment we walked in downstairs to being in the upstairs seating - and the selections of tunes was not conducive to digestion or general mellowness for cross table conversations nor an evening dining experience., Lastly the lighting was seemingly unnecessarily too dim given the small font on the menus that are not boldly printed or fonted. A few of our friends needed to use their cell phone lights to read the menus, even with their glasses on. Just not the same level of quality atmosphere so to speak, for the customers who are dining;as well as the relative blandness, lack of flavorfulness of the meals that we had experienced prior years. Take good care. We know MarketSt on every level are shifting and more expensive and we will be back, hoping all of you are well!

The house bread was amazing but note: pasta dishes comes with a side of bread! Got the carbonara, and my wife got the risotto. Loved my carbonara, but the risotto tasted more like Spanish rice rather than risotto. Wasn’t bad, just didn’t feel like what we expected. The banana bread dessert was amazing. Great wine list as well!

Came for Happy Hour and small plates. Value exceeded our expectations. Service adequate. Not friendly or warm just there. It seems like we were a burden. Noise level- music too loud. Sat inside and will sit outside next time. The sun was setting and requested shades to be drawn. Waited for a response. Was told bartender would do it. Asked a second time and was finally told the device was broken? Was it really broken or just an inconvenience. Owners are great people and serve their community. Wait staff for this visit gave the impression we were not worthy of their time. We will be back as food is excellent!!

We LOVE Ferro and the food. My only thing is in the bar area, I think they changed the lighting and it became a bit unpleasant. Would love to see warm, soft lighting.
