New ownership brought even better food. However, the hostess needs training. She didn’t find our reservation because she didn’t check Open Table which was fine since they were empty. The real problem was she focused on setting empty tables rather than taking our drink order or seating the next guests. Good was delicious but appetizers came out with the food instead of ahead. Please note it is currently BYOB.

The loud telephone ringing incessantly and the slow, unfocused service distracted from an otherwise excellent meal.

Maybe Saturday was just an off night but from service to quality of food, this visit was disappointing. They tried to make it up to us by comping our appetizers and that was a nice gesture but the food was just not on target.

It's largely the same as it was when we used to come here as students, and that was over 15 years ago! Decent service, good food and beer, and banquets were a handy way of trying as much as possible.

We enjoyed the unique flavors of the food. Great vegetarian options. Our waiter was great at helping us select our appetizers and main courses.

The food is always excellent but the service is inconsistent. We arrived for our recent reservation and were told they had to prepare a table - well, what is the point of making a reservation? And that is consistent with the inconsistency of their service. However if you can look past that - it is never horrible, just sloppy - the food itself is excellent.

We were staying in Evanston while visiting family and ate at Mt. Everest on Church Street. It is an Indian-Nepali Restaurant, in a bright, pleasant location. It was not busy on this Sunday night. Service was attentive but not intrusive and very pleasant. The waiter seemed to genuinely be proud of the good and wanted us to enjoy it. We had the Chhoela ( goat grilled filet marinated with garlic, ginger and spices, served over a bed of lettuce) as a shared appetizer. For mains we had the Lamb Vindaloo (spicy) and the Bhuteko Cauli (cauliflower with tomato, ginger, garlic, spices, herbs and cilantro), as well as Peas Pulao (rice with peas and saffron). Portions were large, and the rice and Vindaloo would be enough for two. The appetizer and cauliflower were wonderful, and are highly recommended. Overall, a delightful experience! The bill came to approximately $28 a person....very reasonable for this quality.

The waiter ignored is, then was annoyed that we had to take a minute after finally having a chance to ask a few questions. The food was alright. And then we watched multiple cockroaches crawl up the wall beside my husband and our guest. We will never return.
