For over two decades, we’ve proudly served Portland’s favorite gourmet Cretan cuisine, blending thoughtfully sourced local ingredients and the finest from Greece to deliver authentic flavors in every dish.

Our Menu:
We believe that quality food can only come from quality ingredients. Whenever available we serve organic vegetables and produce: all of our meats are respectfully grown without hormones. We proudly serve Oregon Cascade Natural Beef, New Zealand Lamb and Extra Virgin Olive Oil in all of our cooking and dressings.

Cretan cuisine, often known as the Mediterranean diet, is built around fresh vegetables, extra-virgin olive oil, bright citrus, seafood, fish, and lean meats. It’s a fresh, feel-good way of cooking that’s meant to be shared, enjoyed, and passed around the table.

    I just moved back to Portland and had not been to Eleni's in a long time. They did not dissappoint! Everything we had was amazing and the service was perfect. Highly recommend the Dolmas with tzatziki (best I have ever had!)

    The food was delicious! We shared the octopus and I also ordered the moussaka. We finished with the chocolate mousse, which was delicious but kind of small. Next time I would get my own and not share. I would absolutely go back again.

    Eleni’s is a favorite restaurant when we want Greek dining on our wedding anniversary. Greek Country Salad is as traditional as it gets—with special touches like white balsamic vinegar, very thinly sliced onions and red peppers, amidst huge chunks of tomatoes and cucumbers. Tou Psara: Clsms, mussels, prawns, calamari in broth over Arborio rice. Absolutely delicious. Seafood cooked perfectly. Arni Kebab, grilled lamb over vegetables and potatoes. It was cooked as requested and very tasty.

    First time dining here. There were three of us and we got two smaller plates and two entrees to share. The only dish we weren't wowed by was the fish special, which was good, but didn't live up to the salad, stuffed mushroom, and lamb shank. Overall a really lovely evening and we'll definitely be dining here again.

    We sat next to a table of 14 people, and another table of 8. The noise and commotion was almost unbearable. There was no other place in the restaurant to escape the noise. The food on the other hand was terrific, so I guess that made up for the noise. The moussaka was probably the best I've ever had in the US.

    It was almost perfect…the staff did not recognize our Anniversay at all…that I had indicated when I made the reservation.

    The menu was very lamb forward which was a downside for us non-lamb eaters (and I know to expect lamb at a Greek Restaurant…) But on the plus side several items were on the happy hour list which was at a time when people would actually be ordering dinner so that was a pleasant surprise.
