About this restaurant

  • Kid-friendly
  • Gluten-free-friendly
  • Good for groups
El Barco Mariscos is a Mexican restaurant with a fun and lively atmosphere. The best place to eat here is out on the spacious patio under the large table umbrellas that protect guests from the weather and sun. The dining room itself is also very open, with large bay windows wrapping around the entire building that can be opened top provide lots of fresh air to the guests. The menu at El Barco Mariscos is mainly fish and seafood related dishes. In that theme, guests will find plenty of nautical and fish-themed decor around the restaurant. There is plenty of variety as well, as El Barco has six different preparations for red snapper alone. One of the most popular options s the mixiote de marinscos en tomato which is shrimp, octopus, calamari and fish that has been wrapped and steam cooked.

It was Valentine’s Day so it was packed. I had been to this place in over a decade? But I remembered that the food was pretty good, so we decided to go since most restaurants in the city were booked. We asked for a table by the window to ourselves and were told that those tables were only for larger parties. Then the waitress proceeded to sit a couple of only two people at a table by themselves which is exactly what we asked for. The waitress ignored us unless we flagged her. She didn’t speak, didn’t check to see if we needed anything and didn’t say thank you at the end. They brought my tacos to the table with nothing on them and brought the toppings over so that I could fix them which was ridiculous. The ceviche was brought to the table with no crackers or chips, but the other tables were catered to. Poor service, mediocre food. Never again.

We went to celebrate my mom's birthday and she loved it! The spices are very decent, they do have a kids menu and shareable meals too!

The restaurant was closed even though their website said they were open and OpenTable accepted our reservation. Because of heavy traffic, it took an hour to get there.

Food was awesome - such delicious flavors in all the menu items. Ceviche was excellent, tostadas and tacos were great. Lots of food and everyone left happy. Thank you!
