What Insiders Are Saying
Duck Duck Goat is a high-end Chinese restaurants that's always fun with excellent and interesting food.
One of the best meals I've had in Chicago
The Prix Fixe Dim Sum was great (exceptional quality, surprisingly great value). Get the soup dumplings as well!!!
What a wonderful meal. Celebrating a special occasion. Couldn't have been better.
Our waiter was fantastic- as well as the food, but The table next to us was so loud it made our dining experience unbearable.
Awesome meal & service! The server was very knowledgeable and helped us order amazingly since it was our first time. Sometimes with shared plate menus it's hard to know how many to get and/or what to get and he helped guide us but also gave us the freedom to pick and not pressure. Crab rangoon = amazing, potstickers = out of this world, and our favorite dish was a recommendation by our server (thank you!) - the beef & broccoli... unbelievably good/a must order! Highly recommend this place & will be back.
Great atmosphere and tasty food. Would recommend everything I ate on the menu, especially the soup dumplings and the green beans.
26 per person prix fixe was delicious and filling! Loved the shrimp and peanut dumplings. The ice cream at the end was a perfect, light pick me up. Will recommend to friends! Can’t wait to come back
Everything was delicious.
Loved it. Will definitely be back!!
We ordered a lot of dishes, probably more than a party of 6 needed. Most were excellent, 2 were cold.
The only real complaint I have is that the dishes all came out so fast and furious we could not eat fast enough and felt incredibly rushed through the meal. I asked twice to slow it down so we could enjoy the dishes before more were piled up on a very full table but was told that they were already cooked.
Great date spot. Delicious, on-point food. Ambiance was dramatic and beautiful. Excellent, swift service. Would highly recommend.
Delicious! Two of us went for our first time for a date night dinner. I had to book a reservation 2 months out for a Wednesday night at 6:30, but it was well worth it. We ordered the soup dumplings (yum!), beef/bone marrow potstickers (our favorite dish), beef slap noodles (our second favorite dish), and duck fried rice (can't go to Duck Duck Goat and not try this). Everything was good, and 2 small + 2 larger dishes was enough to fill us up.
We enjoyed our dinner at Duck Duck Goat. The dishes are inventive, well prepared and delivered quickly. We had: Shrimp and Peanut Dumplings, JIAOZI
Beef short rib and bone marrow potstickers, Moo Shu Pork and the soft shell crab special. All was delicious with our favorites being the shrimp dumplings and the crab which had great flavors and textures in the dish. The only drawback was the hoisin that came with the moo shu. It was too salty and added too much saltiness to a dish that was already well seasoned. More acid and a bit more sweetness and less salt would have been a better balance. All in all a really fun place to have dinner.
Everything was great as always. It's a must stop every time I'm in town.
BEST FOOD EVER. WILL KEEP COMING BACK. Very pricey but worth it.
Food and service excellent. Seating tight. Overall, A+ experience, if you enjoy Asian food, it's a must!
Jonathan was an excellent server, so friendly and a great ambassador for Duck Duck Goat!
On the menu, they write “reasonably authentic Chinese cuisine.” At least they’re self-aware. I was overall happy with the food I got at Duck Duck Goat, but it is hard to swallow the price of the dishes when I have gotten such great food in Chinatown for a half/a third of the price. We got the Peking duck, which came with so little cucumber it was laughable. I would have rather had more cucumber and green onion than the assortment of things they gave us to add. I appreciated the novelty of the Western twist they put on it, but I’m going to go with more traditional presentations of Peking duck from now on. The food was good overall, it’s just that this Chinese person would only come here if someone else was paying.
Had a great Father’s Day with you all at DDG. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Loved the food! Definitely will be back
We waited at bar while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, the bartender was friendly and helpful. They had Oberon beer which is one of my favorite.
Our waiter was informative when we asked about lower sodium dishes, which items could be adjusted and which came as is. The beef wonton soup was delicious and there was enough for 2-3 people. The pot stickers also very tasty. I had the slap noodles which were good also. Our daughter like the glass noodles. Both entrees were large enough to share. The cold octopus salad was refreshing and the veggies in it were crisp. Absolutely loved the desert, spring cake on a coconut cloud with chopped tropical fruits. We were full and agreed to share the desert amongst the 3 of us and left us wanting more!
We went to the dim sum brunch for Father’s Day. Food and service were outstanding, as always. My dad loved it!
Hot & Sour Eggdrop was unique and quite good. Fried Rice was not what we expected but also good. Had the eggplant, moo shu, cauliflower as well - all were good & the cauliflower was excellent. Wine was reasonably priced (for a restaurant). We had a reservation so didn't have to wait - without it, you were looking at 3 hours.
The service was great and the food was amazing! Get the short rib dumplings! Loved how they give you a delicious almond cookie for complimentary dessert.
Duck duck goat came highly recommended and exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was fun and energizing. We enjoyed sharing the strawberry special, soup dumplings, seafood fried rice, and the amazing cumin noodles with goat! We highly suggest ALL of those. All in all everything was spiced deliciously and were perfect portions. The cocktails also were boozy and fabulous. We wish we lived here or we'd be there regularly!! Thank you for the birthday surprise too :)
We absolutely love this place! We’ve celebrated birthdays, food cravings, our engagement and wedding here. Don’t miss the shishito peppers or xiao long bao
Amazing food. The duck fried rice had so many layers of flavor.
The restaurant is very neat and decorated exceptionally well. We went for the fixed menu which was a really good deal for 2 people and provided plenty to eat. Most of the dishes are on the smaller side except the rice.
Overall, really enjoyed the food and service was good. Would definitely come back in the future.
Awesome food and beautiful presentations. Cocktails were to die for as well
The food had three predominant flavors: salt/soy, garlic, and cooking oil. But at least it was expensive.
I was overall disappointed with the food. The price was too expensive for the quantity and quality of the food. The goat belly lo mein was salty. The beef wonton soup had a sour taste. The shrimp toast, char siu bao, carb rangoon, scallion pancakes, and veggie spring roll tasted like food from any chinese take-out in your neighborhood.
The quality of food and service far surpasses the shockingly affordable price. Not what you'd expect to pay for a place of this caliber. 10/10 would visit again!
some dishes are really good. Like the Bao Bums. The shoulder goat noodles were below average
Great experience! Separate menu available for vegan/vegetarian dining-highly recommend!
If a chef can't get good flavor, just add salt and more salt and more salt! Food was way too salty. It wasn't spice, it was salt and MSG. Absolutely nothing special about the overpriced food. Waitress was not at all helpful with the menu, and service was poor.
The day was a bday / friends get together. There was a 2.50 charge for a small scoop of ice cream w sprinkles for a birthday celebration. we did not ask for this, and a charge was put on the bill, this should be brought to our attention.
I thought for a classy place this was tacky! Ms. Stephanie you might want to look into this? 🍦
Not sure if i’ll be returning?
The food was amazing as expected and we loved our server(s).
Love this place. Despite being one of the last tables to be seated we never felt rushed! Food is always great!
Duck Duck Goat is such a fun experience located in the booming Fulton Market area. A play on Chinese dim sum for the appetizers and great entrees. We were girl crushing on Stephanie Izardm hoping she would emerge from the kitchen. The decor is fun and the playlist adds to the atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
Great food and incredible staff! One of our favorite places!
