Historically, I have not been impressed with the food at the Inn, but had a delicious lunch and so decided to try for dinner. It was really good. We would definitely go back. THe atmosphere is quiet/antique, cozy.

We sat outside off the porch. Beautiful day. Unfortunately, lots of road noise. Varied menu. Good food. Mediocre service. One person had “attitude” when we asked for silverware, having none, after our food was served.

We are a family from Rochester, NY who lived in Sudbury, MA until 2010. We had our 1st date and our Rehearsal Dinner there over 3 decades ago. So it was a pleasure to return to the Historic Colonial Inn (over 300 yrs old!) on Saturday evening October 24th to celebrate my 82 & 81 yr old parents' birthday with two of their daughters and sons in law and their eldest grandson before the Concord Band Fall Concert. The varied and delicious menu had more than enough for everyone from a vegan to those seeking fresh caught New England Seafood, to meat and potato loving Octogenarians. We always seem to be seated along the windows in the larger dining room which makes it easy to converse even across a large round table. The timing worked out great and ambiance is always wonderful. Lovely walk from the Inn to 51 Walden afterwards for my Dad's big band concert on his 82nd birthday. Thanks for the memories! We'll be backa

Service was poor, waited for drinks. Crab cakes appetizer was good. Waited over a hour for our dinner. The waitress said someone else gave our food to another table by mistake. Waldorf salad, and pot roast was not good. Scrod was undercooked, sent it back. For everything, they comped a $9 dessert.

Our meals were merely of average or below average quality. A hamburger was overcooked, the pasta was lacking a sauce with body and flavor. The greatest disappointment was the Indian pudding, which was full of lumps of corn meal, and was so bland as to have almost no flavor. I had picked the Inn in part because of its traditional desserts--I was treating a friend who was making her first trip to New England. I would not choose the Inn again for a special dinner.
