   My first time at ChoLon but it won’t be my last. By far one of the finest meals I’ve have ever had in Denver. Their food is so delicious and unusual and beautifully presented. Their French Onion Soup Dumplings are NOT to be missed. Fantastic and friendly service and just a true culinary treat. GO! You won’t be disappointed!

   We had lunch on a Sunday before seeing a play at the Buell Theatre. We shared 4 small plates which was perfect for lunch. Pork belly Bao, wagyu beef skewers, scallion pancakes and kaya toast were our choices. Sooooo tasty! Service was perfect and the atmosphere was great, having a table by the window. The theatre is only a 10 minute walk from ChoLon as well.

   Over the years I have noticed that the food at Cholon is less about the attention to detail and more about making a good product available with some value engineering. I understand this but the special nature of the experience has been significantly diminished. It’s still good, but nowhere as remarkable.

   Completely exceeded all expectations! Food was so creatively prepared and absolutely delicious! The service was also the very best and our waiter guided us through the menu perfectly. Exceptional experience! Cannot wait to return!

   The food and service were awesome. The ambience and vibe or chic and upscale. My only complaint is that the food came too quickly. The waiter asked that we place our entire order at the beginning and he would course it. All the food came to the table within 25 minutes. Much too fast for this type of meal.

   A place that is nicely decorated. Ambience is pretty good but a little bit too noisy. Food wise, it’s not up to expectation. Here’s my breakdown on each item ordered: Salmon ribbon - the worst and overpriced dish in my entire order. It’s just like raw sashimi and nothing more. And it’s really over priced. $24 for 5 little clumps of salmon. Pork belly bun - meat is a bit dry and doesn’t have enough belly fat that makes the dish authentic. Malaysia stir fry noodles - another disappointment. Noodle is hard, bland and doesn’t have the fragrance from the stir fry. Shrimp is worst, they are tiny, most likely frozen and very hard, not succulent at all. Overall, food is very disappointing. Worth a try? I don’t think so. Price is steep for such disappointing food. Also, the restaurant is charging 6% automatically to your bill to “combat inflation”, which wasn’t notice upfront to diners. I understand inflation is killing everyone and usually 2.5% surcharge is done by restaurants, but 6% is a way too much and unreasonable.

   It was our first time at this restaurant, and we totally loved it! The food was outstanding, the waitress recommended certain things, and everything she recommended was great. The atmosphere was lovely and the noise level was just right. The timing of the food coming out was perfect. we were there for my daughters birthday and it was really a great choice

    ChoLon was an amazing place to eat during our visit! We even thought about eating there every night for the rest of our visit! The food was absolutely incredible. We had the French onion dumplings, General Cho’s dumplings, beef skewers, and the Korean fried chicken slider— all were very delicious! We cannot wait to go back and eat here!

    We have been to ChoLon several times and have never been disappointed. The cocktails and food were delicious. Highly recommend the French onion soup dumplings and wagyu beef skewers as starters. The salt and pepper calamari was some of the best we’ve eaten.. so tender. Stir fried Malaysian noodle dish also good. And definitely have the spiced doughnuts for dessert. Yum! Our server, Brian, was spot on with his recommendations.

    The food was great, but our service could have used a lot of improvement. We were not brought a refill of water and had to request more when we ran out. Our waiter took too much time to come over for us to place our order. Several empty plates remained at our table until there was no room for new plates (our table was rarely cleared), and our water glasses were never refilled.

    Food was the best! I’m well travelled and these are the best wontons I’ve ever had! They came out quick and they were very flavorful! The biggest con was the unexpected 6% added to the bill for “DFW” When we asked our server, he said “ it’s to pay the cooks a fair wage” I am all about paying 20% for gratuity but not an added 6% to pay the staff. Isn’t that what the restaurant owners cover? This is getting out of hand for added percentages added to the bill. It’s no ok to expect to add 26% to the bill when you go out. We LOVED the food but out of principle we won’t be coming back due to these forced added percentages

    I wouldn't call the Noise Level Energetic. It was too loud for my taste. I am glad this wasn't a first date.....Had to shout to be heard by my wife.

    A good experience. They offer a range of smaller size of entrees at reduced prices. I started with a japanese whiskey cocktail "Tanuki Rising". Very strong. I got the "General Cho soup dumplings" and "Chicken Slider". Nice and tasty.

    I had really high hopes for ChoLon and have been wanting to go for quite awhile. I’m not sure what was happening but it took over an hour to get our first dish, there was about 15 mins between each dish coming out, the soup dumplings were cold and there was little explanation as to what was going on. There were a lot of waiters and bussers so I’m not sure they were understaffed. Drinks were great and they did comp a few of our dishes to apologize for the inconveniences. Kind of a let down for a birthday group dinner. I’ve had a good experience at their sister restaurant Yum Cha, perhaps because it accommodates a much smaller amount of tables.

    I am always so happy with the decision to dine at Cholon. The soup dumplings never disappoint and everything was cooked perfectly and so delicious. We brought our friend from NYC and she was very impressed!

    Went to ChoLon for a birthday date with my husband. It was so noisy we could not even have a conversation. There was music blaring and it was crowded. We were seated at a very small table sandwiched in between 2 other tables. I could have reached out and touched the people next to me. It was a level of discomfort I’ve never felt dining out before. The food was ok at best and is severely overpriced. We got the French onion soup dumplings (too salty), the crystal edamame dumplings (bland) and the jade green stir fry w tofu (ok). We gave up after that because we were having such an unpleasant time. Disappointed does not begin to cover it. We won’t be back.

    Really delicious. Loved the pappadam and chutney to start. Had the onion soup dumplings- crazy good. Kaya toast was really nice as well. Loved the Brussels sprouts and the miso salmon. Had the pretty bird cocktail. Delicious and came in a fun glass.

    Order got taken to the wrong table which had our entree (beef) and side (fried rice) 40mins apart. Comped fried rice but that didn’t seem to make up for it. Server probably should have checked in on us a little sooner than clearing table and asking if we wanted to see a dessert menu — the point at which I explained we were still waiting on an item.

    We had an amazing dinner at Cholon. I strongly recommend a reservation as the place was completely full. The very busy hostesses were welcoming and seated us promptly. Our server was friendly and helpful. We shared two starters and an entree - they were all unique and delicious. The French onion soup dumplings were incredible... I wish there were a few more of them as the portion was quite small. We were too full for dessert, so maybe next time. With the music and crowd, it did get a bit noisy at times, but not overwhelmingly so. Overall, a great experience and I would go back just for those dumplings!

    Unique and surprising flavors to be had in every bite of every dish. Truly, nothing disappoints. Ordered beef with the fried rice and it was slightly chewy so I will avoid that next time. Loved this place!
