   Food was outstanding, the service was friendly and prompt. Server was very helpful in menu selection the only disappointment was lack of liquor license - no mojito - for us a staple with Cuban food. Had sangria instead and it was tasty but very weak

   The only reason I am glad that I don’t live near CHICAS is because I would eat here EVERYDAY! 1. Do yourself a favor and get the empanadas and Cuban egg rolls as an appetizer! The pink sauce that comes with the empanadas is SO YUMMY! Bistek, shrimp, their chimichurri sauce…all of it is delicious!

   Always have excellent food and service at chicas! It was mothers day and we made reservations, flawless and organized! Cuban sandwiches are on point! Service with a genuine smile every time.

   Our waitress was phenomenal. Friendly, energetic and on the ball. Food was amazing. Brought my parents for their 49th wedding anniversary. My mom has dementia and dad is on hospice. Don't know if they will make 50 so I wanted to take them somewhere I knew they would enjoy. Did not disappoint. They loved it. Dinner was exceptional, favorite beer, cappuccino and flan for dessert. Perfect evening.

   Our waiter took our order and then we never saw him again until we were finished eating and had waited for 10 minutes or more. We saw him on the patio and tapped on the window to get his attention. When he finally came to our table (after ofinishing our meal), I said that we had been waiting for quite a while and he "smart assed" answered by saying "I'm just doing my job!" Well, if he HAD been doing his job, he would have checked on us at LEAST ONCE, so we wouldn't have had to ask another waiter for help to get 2 spoons and some hot sauce during our meal. He should have checked on us at least once during our meal. We didn't appreciate the way we were handled by him. He was young wearing a red bandana on his hair, which looked like it had small dread lock like styling to it. This all happened on May 13th and we got there around 5 p.m.

   The food was delicious and smelled amazing! Sat outside while it was raining and it was a nice atmosphere. Definitely going to return and highly recommend this place for any occasion!

    Great place! Been here twice for dinner and once for lunch. A little loud at times, actually energetic, but that does not detract from the fabulous food. All the rich, vibrant flavors you expect from Latin/Caribbean cuisine, it is authentically GOOD! It’s our new favorite place, in our historic downtown Deland.

    Party of 4, all first timers and we will most certainly be returning. All are meals were delicious! I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. We look forward to exploring more. We sat out side and it was lovely. We made reservations, it did get busy so glad we did.

    Always enjoy Chicas food. Allison, our server, was excellent. We usually order for takeout so it was nice to sit at an outside table with the kids home for Spring break.

    Good restaurant because we went to the close by Athens Theatre for a 2:30 matinee play and then to the restaurant for an early dinner on a Sunday... Great food, we've ate there before.. Try the picadillo and bistec palomilla.. And, they had Stella on tap for $4.00....great price..

    We had wonderful drinks in the bar, then ordered appetizers in the outdoor area for dinner. The food was really good. However, when our server picked up our plates, she refused our charge card saying she would be back. Ten minutes later, she had not returned. I went to the hostess, who was very personable, but said she couldn’t take our payment. When I explained about our wait, she said she’d let our server know. Five more minutes went by, as did our server, smacking down our bill and snapping out “have a good evening.” No explanation, no apology. I hope management finds a way to explain to her what it’s like to be a customer, not knowing when or if someone will or will not return to your table. Yeah, there are much more unpleasant things happening in the world. Yeah, I get it that it’s difficult to find people to hire. Yeah, I get it that things happen that cause delays in a restaurant. But know that servers can talk to customers, that they can communicate what’s going on and why. It only takes a few words and a few seconds. A few seconds and a few words are not too much to expect.

    Chica's Cuban Cafe was a very nice, relaxing environment. The wait staff was awesome, and the delicious Cuban food will have us coming back for more! The waitress even helped me find a great glass of wine and it was all perfect! A very nice evening!

    We have been to this restaurant many times. Always good. This is the first time that one of us did not have a good experience. The plantains and the chicken were over cooked. The plantains were charred black, and the chicken was difficult to eat. The rice on the plate was excellent.

    The food was fantastic! We had ropa vieja with rice and plantains, ribs and chicken wings. Also the awesome sangria. The music was great and so was our waitress Ann Marie! Great place to eat! Thank you for a great time!

    We made a reservation for 8 to celebrate my mother's 88th birthday. We were seated immediately and served promptly. The food was delicious as usual. The servers brought Mama a piece of guava cheesecake and sang Happy birthday to her. Very well done!
