We look forward to seeing you at SPACCA!
What Insiders Are Saying
Chi Spacca in Hollywood is one of our favorite places to get excessive in LA. This involves a lot of meat.
service needs to improve to be able to match the incredible food
Great restaurant! All of the food is to die for. The only complaint I had is that our pizza type (can't remember the name) came extremely dry compared to normal. really all the outside pieces were dry and only the centerpiece tasted like it normally does or had the amount of cheese/flavor etc. aside from that the rest of our food was amazing!
Once again Chi Spacca does not disappoint.
Food is great, the space is wonderful, and no complaints in that regard.
I only wish the waitresses and kitchen staff would be a little bit more friendly, after all you're in a small space with all of them. The common feeling at our table was that they were annoyed to be there while kitchen staff could have used a smile, especially when a curious and humble restauranteur like myself only asked to know what a piece of meat on the grill was. Service is half the experience and the servers should be proud to be in such a great establishment and treat the guest accordingly, regardless of who they might be.
Hopefully management takes this review into consideration.
Not sure why they included the whole carcass of the squab on the plate- yes head included. It was remarkably off-putting, and changed the whole vibe of the meal.
Great Italian steakhouse with vegetable and salad choices extensive and delicious. Perfect for both the carnivore and the vegetarian. If you like action sit at the bar; great to watch the chef cook
service needs to improve. just because a table sits late doesn't mean the servers can rush them out and not be respectful. i have dined at chi spacca many times. since when do servers tell patrons whcih dishes take over 30 minutes to prepare which would consist of about 70% of anything on the entree menu unless they wanted to rush a table which sat late and closer to closing time. very uncomfortable and very bad service. a patron when paying a lot of money to fine dine should not have to consistently ask for more water and wine. horrible service!
Focaccia which is not how we think of focaccia as as Nancy silverton said on chef’s table, ‘you made an Italian quesadilla. Just order it. The beef and marrow pie was a masterpiece. The duck and 5 Chinese spices was a pleasant surprise and that forbidden rice was a wave of culinary excellence that delighted. The Panna cotta type hazelnut dessert was a bomb. The edges burnt crisp, burnt hazelnuts, mouth feel like pablum and although the honey sorbet was delish it so was not right with this dish. Get rid of that dish. I wanted the butterscotch boudino which I later heard was the bomb. And the wait staff was annoyed that I mentioned the quesadilla thing (how about you research the owner and giggle with us about it as Nancy so quaintly did on Netflix) and acted as though we were idiots that this was family style. One Pretentious waiter can ruin the ambiance and she was trying her damndest but the other staff were lovely.
The octopus was insane. The chicken was outstanding. We truly enjoyed everything. Can't wait to go back.
One of the best steaks in Los Angeles. High price, high quality.
Perhaps the best steak I’ve ever eaten. Food was phenomenal. Restaurant is on the pricey side but worth it.
Thank you, Nancy Silverton, for a perfect evening. Having watched your episode on Chef's Table, we were excited for the opportunity to experience. Our server, Chelsea, was magnificent, paying particular attention at all times. My only slight downgrade with the service involved the presentation of our main entrees - my entree was placed on the table but my wife's entree was 3 to 5 minutes later. With the manner in which they perfectly handled every other course (using runners instead of the server), having to wait for my wife's entree was a little disappointing. We assume there may have been a last-minute issue caught by the expeditor. Regardless, we look forward to the experience again, next time reserving seats at the chef's counter in front of the open kitchen.
not only was the food very very sub par, but the service was terrible.... almost three hours for dinner was so unacceptable. such a dissapointment..........
It's obviously a "good" restaurant. But they cook the meat very rare and if that's not your thing, you're told they're going to do it their way, and if you don't like it, you can send it back for more cooking. Which means they put it on you to have to be difficult to get what you want. We spent $700 and I barely touched the main courses, just brought them home and finished cooking them to my taste there. I would never have taken the time to explain this if OpenTable hadn't asked. Like I said: good restaurant, but be forewarned if you don't like rare meat.
Always great food as usual. Like this place very much.
Never disappoints, always feels like a special experience. Bring a group that wants to eat.
I took my brother here for his birthday dinner and to be honest was kind of disappointed. Our whole point was to get some really good steak and they had a 50 ounce porterhouse on the menu for $225 however I would have to say that out of all the high-end steakhouses we’ve been to and we been to all pretty much the best ones we were recently at Peter Lugar in New York City and we’ve been to the Cut in Beverly Hills and Mastro‘s and several others and the steak at all of those were easily better than Chi Spacca. Their wine list was really nice and they have a lot of really great Italian wines. The service overall was very good. For the steak, appetizer, salad and side dishes alone not including the wine the bill was about $350. So really for a place that focuses on meat and in my opinion the steak really not being that great I was very disappointed.
I have to say I was disappointed in this restaurant. My wife and I love the Osteria chi Spacca fell short. Service was not very attentive. Two of our four items were not great including a very tough lamb shoulder and an extremely expensive prawn dish. Overall not up to the standards we were expecting.
Service was awful and people were rude. food was great
Once again the best meal in LA. The best service.
Great! Delicious food great wine cool dining experienxe
Food was delicious but all large and incredibly rich. The restaurant was certainly perfect for a romantic date but would also be great for a group of 4 to 6 people as some of the dishes were geared toward serving 4 to 6. We thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie, burrata, focaccia, braised goat and cauliflower. If we lived in LA we would have brought home leftovers that would have lasted a week!
Our meal was wonderful. We have had octopus at many restaurants and this was by far the finest and most delicious. Then there was the beef and bone marrow pie. So delicious. Comfort food at its best! Can’t wait to go back and try the steak, lamb and all the other options on the menu. Ask for Max. Great service.
Awesome dinning experience.. great service. Definitely a 2 thumbs up!
Excellent food, unique options and professional , super knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Loved the ambiance of the space, the staff were all friendly and very helpful, and the food was AMAZING!!! Will definitely be going back.
The other restaurants in the Mozza complex are better. Service here is terrible - lots of attitude and not enough attention - and the food is overpriced. Not worth it.
Great food and exceptional service. I highly recommend this place. Nicole was wonderful.
This was my 5th visit to Chi Spacca, and as usual it exceeded all expectations. Our server, Grace, was friendly, knowledgeable, and took us expertly through both the menu and wine list, making excellent suggestions for pairings. The team also managed the dessert-time presentation of a gift with taste and good timing. A feast for the senses in every sense of the word.
Best steakhouse in LA. Try bone marrow pie!
Really enjoyed it! Food was outstanding from starter to incredible desserts! Tables are a bit close together. Also a fun note the kitchen and dining area are one and the same. Fun to see all of the food coming out.
Che SPACCA is EXCELENT!!! I just want to not only thank you for great food but your kind staff that patiently hears us out.
This was a disappointing dinner. My wife and I went for our Anniversary and found the experience to be average, especially given the prices. As examples: our first appetizer was brought out to us within 5 minutes of the order, and before the wine was provided. The waitress forgot about our second course and then the third course came in about 50 minutes and was not warm. We ordered the rib eye and found it to be extremely average, especially for $250. Given their emphasis on “this is how the Italians like it”, was unimpressed that the espresso came with sugar packets. Finally, a bottle of wine that they charge $45 to buy from the store should not be marked up by more than double to be served in a restaurant. Overall, we spent over $500 for a three course meal with a bottle of wine and were out the door in less than 90 minutes.
the food is superb but you better come hungry. better to come with a larger group (4-6ppl) so you can share more items on the menu
Every dish ordered was delicious. We had high expectations and we left very happy. They also get gluten allergy issues and the staff was very helpful.
I can’t say enough about the food and service! The food was excellent, particularly the flat bread and the bone marrow and beef pie. Great wine pairings, too. The wait staff was fantastic. My only complaint is that the dishes were brought out too close together. We needed a little more time in between items (we ordered 5 dishes and 2 desserts for two people) to keep from getting too full. We paced ourselves though and enjoyed the entire meal. Highly recommend!
This place is AMAZING. Food and service are excellent. Nancy Silverton stopped by the tables to check on people. Everyone here is just pleasant.
My favorite in LA. Always great !!
