Good: Please give Jose our server a big raise! He was the best as well as his helpers. It was busy on a Friday night. He took great care of us. We really enjoyed sitting in a booth, the booths sitting on north side of restaurant. Very comfortable. The bread was amazing! The best thing served with butter and pesto. Bad: New York steak, we ordered medium rare, on rare side. It came to us medium to well done side. Not a good quality meat, dry not juicy. The scallops were served in a runny sauce scallops tasted rubbery. The Caesar salad was so bad, way too fishy. Lettuce was marginal...not fresh. Our thoughts: your main chef was not working on this last Friday night? We are use to eat at coastal restaurants in all San Diego. We expected better quality for the price. With such a beautiful hotel, the food was below standards.

Signage to the hotel is lacking. You need signs at Ponto Drive and Road to direct you and even from parking structure it’s hard to see the hotel entrance.

The only reason this review got 2 stars was for the ocean view, quiet atmosphere and crème brûlée. The service was disappointing and they were out of 4 items on their very small menu. Where they claimed they’d make substitutions (like more shrimp for being out of fish, they did not deliver and still charged the same). Everything we got was bland.

It took over an hour to get our starters, but other than that, it was fine. Nothing amazing. Portions were small but adequate. Overpriced for what it was. The view was lovely though.

Not what it used to be. Wait staff was excellent, but food took a very long time. The salmon was very good, but the burgers were dry. We had 2 people ordering burgers and both were very dry. The french fries were served very salty. With prices going up, it's hard to tolerate less than stellar food.

This is my second visit to Chandler's; the first was for dinner (A+) and this most recent one was for Sunday brunch. (A+) My meal (avocado toast) and my companion's meal (breakfast tacos) were both great. My only thing, which is a request, but not a criticism, would be for one or two more vegetarian or even vegan options. Don't get me wrong, I could be perfectly happy with the avocado toast, but I'd like to taste a bit more of what Chandler's executive chef whips up. I'll absolutely be back.

Apparently there should of been happy hours specials for guest at the hotel, however there was no mention of it and nothing reflected in the bill. Just fyi if you are looking for happy hours specials.

The view is spectacular, the atmosphere is inviting, the food is scrumptious and the service is phenomenal. It is pricey but well worth it. We started with the crab cakes and then had the filet mignon with potatoes and veggies. Jose is a gem.

This restaurant is the perfect spot to see the sunset along the oceanfront. The food is delicious. I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was cook to perfection. My husband ordered the seafood scampi linguini and he was also very satisfied. It was our first time staying at the hotel and dining at Chandler’s. Unfortunately, our waitress took a little too long to take our order. To the point where we felt ignored. Otherwise, it would have been a perfect dinner experience.

Everything was very good, the service, the food, the location. The only thing was, they did not have covered patio seating for us, and when we asked for a umbrella, they rolled over an umbrella that was broken, and it continued to flop around around us. However, the chef Was very good and was a beautiful spot, watching the sun go down.

Place and service was great. Food also. Only suggestion and complaint. Ordered. Salad w a protein - Tuna. Not allowed. But asked chef. Said ok but says the charge is for the whole tuna diner entree listed. Never seen that anywhere. So overcharged. Clue the chef in that other restaurants offer this.

We had a Tuesday night reservation to celebrate my daughter's birthday. With it being mid-week, the restaurant was not busy at all. Our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating however, the kitchen was extremely slow. We were a party of 8 and all meals came out staggered up to 5 minutes apart. Even worse, the side dishes that we ordered did not arrive until everyone had already finished eating their meals. We requested that they just be removed from the check, as we we were done eating at that point. In addition 4 people in our party ordered mixed cocktails and not one of them was made correctly. To say that we were disappointed by the overall dining experience is an understatement.

A very nice restaurant for just about any occasion. The servers were outstanding, as was the food. The valets were wonderful too. My only minor issue was that it got pretty warm with the sun streaming through at sunset. I don't know if unobtrusive filters or shades could be installed. I'm definitely coming back, though.
