What Insiders Are Saying
Casa Enrique is home to the best Mexican food in New York City, and we bet you've never heard of it. Time to get acquainted with Long Island City.
Elevated Mexican as only Chef Cosme can deliver. Great Hospitality only surpassed by the great flavors from the dishes. Cant wait to come back
Always an excellent experience. Top draw, authentic food and great cocktails. Definitely one of the best dining spots in Long Island City if not New York city as a whole.
Excellent food small neighborhood vibe. Very flavorful. Definitely worth the trek out to LIC for some of the best Mexican food.
Not your everyday Mexican restaurant. A few regional choices which is great: e.g., lengua taco - delicious mole sauce that is complex & rich. The guacamole was delicious, with clean, fresh flavor with balanced heat
Service was attentive & excellent!
Margaritas needed acidity. Main entrees tend to be single-note, w salt being the predominant flavor.
Disappointing overall, esp. b/c we were looking forward to a Michelin start restaurant in the neighborhood
The new room is great, but all the tables were cramped into the corner making it impossible and impractical to get into...even more crowded than the original space! Despite the fact that there was ample space around the banquet table in the center. Spread out more! Also, it was way too loud in the new room—also worse than the old spot, which was already too loud.
Wonderful delicious gorgeous food
Forgot our beet salad, otherwise solid dining experience.
All around great experience. Food was delicious and the service was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Hope to be back!
Good food and moderately priced. The tacos are DELISH!!!
Came for the first time and its our absolute favorite Mexican food in the entire city. The enchiladas de mole are superb. The Chile relleno was great but we wished we would’ve asked for the sauce on the side as it tasted sweet and ketchupie. But we took the skin off the Chile and ate the rest. All around a great place!!
There's really nothing negative to say about this place - great food, creative menu choices, friendly service, manageable prices. Although it was crowded, nobody rushed us. Noise level is high, but not obnoxious. Especially loved the mole chicken and the margaritas!
Fantastically delicious cuisine from chef Cosme Aguilar. The Rajas con Crema, Sopecitos, Mole (in anything), and Tres Leches are especially fantastic.
Great food, great service, very friendly place to dine and great drinks.. just an overall very nice place to spend time with family and friends and be very comfortable and be appreciated..
LUNCH AND DINNER MENU ARE DIFFERENT..
DID NOT REALLY GET WHAT I WANNA EAT
The atmosphere was contemporary and stylish. The service was very good. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Overall this was a wonderful place to meet up with friends. People were happy and chatty and no one was rushed. The food was very fresh and delicious.
Michelin star restaurant without the pretentious ambience and delicious authentic Mexican food - according to my Mexican boyfriend.
Restaurant was quaint nothing to brag about but waiters were friendly and engaging food was delish!
Never disappoints, consistently great Mexican food
Great and attentive staff. Authentic Mexican cuisine at it’s very best.
Brilliant food - the lamb shank is unsurpassable. Service excellent.
Have loved the food and drinks for years. Just wish the host staff could smile or be nice. Takes away from the experience.
Went for brunch. So delicious and fun time!
Love the food and service. Atmosphere is very stale. Tables are crowded and can hear all conversations but food is so good it doesn’t matter :)
Great food but was expecting more for a 1 star michelin restaurant
Mom was in town and I knew she would love it and she did. She is a tequila fan and was pleased to see a bottle on the menu she doesn’t see often. She was impressed with the warm service and spectacular food. I was too!
Disappointed with the food and service. Expected so much more of a Michelin-star restaurant. The dishes were plain and simple, and the taste was ok but not mind-blowing. And the service seemed “amateurish.”
The mole in the enchiladas was nothing special—too much chocolate, and the chocolate pot-de-creme tasted like a regular chocolate pudding. The rajas con crema were too sweet and the guacamole was only decent.
The best were the “taco de lengua” and the cheese ice cream. And the tortilla chips: really good.
Maybe the owners are after a cantina feel, but the price is not particularly cantina-like...
Excellent spot for brunch, hard enough to get a dinner reservation but definitely doesn’t lack!
Food was great and our main server was amazing.
Wonderful delicious quaint killer cocktails and mocktails
Love this place! My first choice for dining in nyc.
All around great expierence
One of my favorite mexican restaurants in the world. Get the mole enchiladas and tres leches - it may change your life.
Came for a birthday and made sure to arrive five min before our reservation time. The hostess let us know our table would be ready shortly, no problem. We waited about 15 min with no updates and then were escorted to our tables late with no apology.
Cosme Aguilar goes above and beyond, with close attention to detail. Their mezcal margaritas are out of this world. The ceviche is a must. So is the tres leches cake. Casa Enrique is a gem and NYC is lucky to have him here.
They’re super accommodating
Very good experience. Highly recommended.
Superb chile relleno, deliciously complex mole on chicken enchilada, surprisingly tame guacamole--perhaps we should have ordered very spicy not medium--capped off with chocolate pot de creme, rich without being overly sweet
Wonderful food, great service. Lengua tacos were phenomenal. Skirt steak cooked perfectly.
