Muy buena experiencia. Fuimos mi esposa y yo para pasar una noche relajada. El ambiente es agradable. Cuenta con valet parking. La atención es muy buena. El menú es atrevido, particular y delicioso. El queso ahumado con miel es buenísimo y en general todos los platillos son deliciosos. La calidad-precio es buena. En general es un buen lugar para cenar y pasar una velada agradable.

Very innovative menu, interesting fusions of flavors. Hot food was warm taste was pretty good. The "tostadas" are 6 tostito chips topped with their concoction. Service seems to lack supervision or management presence. Tables arranged to close to each other, creating challenged conversational privacy.

Gaby Ruiz y Rafael son extraordinarios anfitriones de un lugar mágico, que traslada a muchos mundos a través de la comida única, los ricos cócteles y la música.

Nos encanta poder charlar a gusto, sin prisas y con atención de primera de meseros y gerente.

Very bad experience. You don’t allow people to reserve at 6pm on a Sunday only to close the kitchen at 6:30. A complete joke. Manager was doing the accounting in front of the dining room—very tacky

The two previous times were way better. Our server was so so. I hate to say this but, he assumed we were dumb Americans with no clue about the culture, the restaurant or the language. I understood everything he said in Spanish. I am from Puebla Mexico and my husband and I have returned to CDMX to live. My first two times at Carmela y Sal were perfection.

The food is still delicious. But theirs time we were rushed. My husband’s drink had a fantastic presentation but instead of leaving it there for us to enjoy the waiter pored the bottle in to the glass and took everything away. Rush rush. There was another guy, a busser, who really deserved the tip. He took great care of us and checked to make sure we had what we needed. We had to ask him for the dessert menu, our waiter was never around.

I ordered the bananas with dulce de leche. The first two times I have had it was just that, bananas with fresh whipped cream and a pool of dulce de leche. This time I was served bananas with whipped cream and a scoop of ice cream. When I told the waiter this is definitely different than what I ordered and not what the menu described, he argued with me. I asked for a menu, now he hands me one in Spanish. The first menus were in English. I have been speaking Spanish to him all night. Maybe he thinks I can’t read? I point out that even the menu in Spanish says nothing about ice cream but it does mention the dulce de leche.

Now I have explained that I just don’t want it. We would just like the check. He continues to argue and brings his manager over. Really? I really LIKED this place. The manager says, yes, we did change the dish, it is different. He also said the menu is not accurate anymore and took my plate and apologized.

That was it. Experience ruined. Who wants to argue with their server to begin with? Such a bad situation.

La comida de ahí nos encanta!! Aunque los postres siguen dejando que desear... Ayer llegamos a nuestra reservación y no estaba nuestra mesa lista por la sobre mesa de algunos comensales... El mal sabor de boca fue que no había ni espacio para esperar y tardaron mucho en asignaron una mesa en la sección donde no la reservamos. El que puedan idear algo para estas ocasiones, sería muy agradecido por parte de sus clientes.

The restaurant is beautiful—very romantic and well-appointed. Great chandelier. We looked forward to our meal but had a very uneven evening. Our drinks were good and our appetizers were wonderful: My husband had ceviche which was in a lime coconut soupy sauce and I had a jicama salad with mint dressing. We were midway through our appetizers when the waiters showed up with our main courses. We let them know we were far from ready for our entrees but we don’t speak Spanish and they didn’t speak English so we had a communications problem. We pushed our appetizers to the side and started our main courses. My husband’s pork was very good, although a little on the sweet side. My octopus was inedible. It was raw, even though it was supposed to be fried. I sent it back. They tried to remake the dish but weren’t pleased with the outcome (problem with the octopus) and I think they took it off the menu for the rest of the evening. The restaurant was VERY responsive and offered me another entree but I was honestly getting full and decided to just finish my salad. I would like to give them another chance the next time we are in Mexico City but the restaurant is expensive and should have been better.

We didn't love this restaurant. On the upside, I did like the beet salad. It had a great crunchiness. But my friend did't like her ceviche because it had sweet potatoes in it. And I didn't like the stuffed plantains, if that's the right way to describe the dish.
Our waiter was a sweet guy although we sat down and seemed to wait a long time just to get the menu. And we didn't like the style of the restaurant interior. We sat in the bar area near the door which was fine. Again, good beet salad!

Increíble comida, todo estuvo excelente, en especial el tiradito de pulpo, la gordita con chicharrón y pulpo, el queso y los platanitos con frijoles.
Recomiendo compartir el postre ya que los tamaños sí son grandes.

Greta date spot. The corn risotto dish was incredible and a must have! Also the beet salad was delicious. Wine was expensive though. I have the shrimp fettuccine and it wasn’t the best but still tasty! Service was outstanding.
