Not our first experience at Carluccio's, however, it may be our last. Food was good, service was good, prices and value, always good. Our table was booked for four people at 6 pm on Saturday. Fortunately, we arrived early and it did not appear to be a problem as our table was available. As we sat enjoying a glass of wine, our waiter enquired what time our friends would arrive. We informed him they were on their way. The reason, he informed us, was that the kitchen closed at 6 pm. Initially, I dismissed this as humour. It turned out, it did. When we advised him that the table had been booked for months, the manageress was called and assured us we would be accommodated. However, having travelled for hours and thoroughly looking forward to a leisurely catch-up with our friends over a nice meal, we were utterly rushed throughout our brief stay at Carluccio's. Last orders 6 pm for food. The situation was explained regarding the opening hours of the shopping centre. Not my fault, but no real apology, no recompense or understanding. Their website should NEVER have accepted the booking. Ludicrous, disappointing and embarrassing.

Half our party were coming from the Isle of Wight and there were problems with the ferries. The staff were amazing. On a very busy Saturday when they were full they didn’t hassle us at all. Keep checking in and bringing nibbles and drinks as ordered. Excellent experience,

Busy time of year and some meals came out extremely undercooked. Luckily the staff were absolutely brilliant and made us an extra dish. Probably wouldnt return though.

Do not book for 7pm. We arrived and were told kitchen was closing right now. The waiter handed us the menus and then stood at the end of the table watching us read and demanding to know instantly what we wanted to eat. This was a really unpleasant experience so we left.

Lovely welcome at the door and shown quickly to our table despite being 30 minutes early. Service was prompt engaging and polite. My first choice of starter wasn't available but there was plenty of alternatives. Food and drinks came promptly and the service was exemplary. Thank you.
