   What a wonderful birthday dinner. Food was outstanding as always, server (Caitlin) was a true professional. We couldn’t sit outside because of an event, but downstairs was just as much fun.

   I was warmly greeted by Anthony, who led me to our table (I had dropped my friend off at the restaurant before parking the car). Our server, Kevin, was fantastic! He was friendly and knowledgeable and provided top-notch service. The food was as terrific as it always is. I highly recommend the C&O to anyone in search of great victuals and great service!    The dinner was superb and enjoyed every single dish we ordered. Our favorite was the tuna and fettuccine, but honestly, we were impressed with all dishes. Our server, CK, was knowledgeable and so helpful. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, we were met with incredible service. A definite must do while in Charlottesville for a meal to remember.

    We came to celebrate our son’s graduation from UVA. The meal exceeded our expectations. The limited menu had a great variety from which to choose. The portion sizes were great. Everyone at our table loved their meal. Our waitress was warm and very knowledgeable about the food. Everything she described sounded amazing. We never felt rushed. We have been eating at the C&O for 25 years and it is still fabulous. Thank you so much for making our celebratory dinner wonderful!

    The food was delicious, but the serving sizes are way too small. My guest left, hungry, wanting snacks later in the evening. And given the cost, there is no way they should have left hungry.

    Outstanding as always. There's a reason this gem of a restaurant has been in business since the 70s. We've never had even an off night It's a real treat. Do yourself a favor an order the sweetbreads, too.

    Everything about our dinner was excellent - from the warm bread & butter delivered shortly after we sat down, our very knowledgeable and attentive waiter, and to the entrees that were over the top delicious. We had the roasted haddock and the duck confit with ricotta gnocchi. We'd highly recommend both, but the duck & gnocchi were the favorite. Yum!!

    I went here to celebrate my birthday. The cost vs. meal size ratio is WAY off. There’s literally no reason for a $50+ filet to come with zero side items. I feel like even a Michelin rated restaurant would serve filet with a side. On a positive note, the food and drinks were delicious. I just don’t see myself going back considering the value.

    So overrated. I asked for gnocchi with mushrooms with no onions, the chef doesn’t even know what is putting on your plate, I am currently sick because of the onions. The gnocchi were burned on the bottom. 4 adults at the table and the portions were so small that even my toddler child would have asked for more food. I had probably 4 gnocchi on my $26 main course plate. The menu has literally 4 or 5 things as main course, averaging $50 a plate, except for the gnocchi, with no side at all. If you want a side you have to pay at least $10 extra. Service was ok, not really friendly.

    Our first visit to this restaurant, with its distinctive ambience and inviting menu, put C&O at the top of our list of spots we'll visit again and often. We were greeted warmly, shown to an ideal table, received excellent service from a knowledgeable staff and enjoyed immensely the expertly prepared dishes we ordered.     Date night with the wife - sat at the bar downstairs …lemon drop martinis and great old-fashioneds to start … for dinner wife chose hand rolled linguini with mushroom and truffle sauce – amazing! I had ricotta stuffed gnocchi and duck – also at 10 out of 110. if you live near Charlottesville. This restaurant should be on your regular list:-)

    Better than ever. Best quality steak I’ve had at C&O. Duck Confit was decadent. Coupe maison is classic soft serve style in a charming retro glass. Wine list is a marvel.

    Lots changed since I last dined here. Removal of many signature entrees from the menu, the lack of a cheese board containing a variety of cheeses for dessert, and snarky/condescending wait staff are making me reconsider coming back again. Super disappointed as C&O has been one of my favorite restaurants in town for years.
