The service was efficient but our waiter had way too much attitude and the wine pours were chintzy.

Fresh Mediterranean food, good wine selection, good management. Overall a great place in the UWS for casual lunches or dinners. Decoration and set up is a bit stuck in the 80’s, not looking as fresh as the Brickell location in Miami but of course still a solid option.

I’ve been to Boulud sud before. This time it seemed more expensive and less spectacular Im terms of the food.

Pleasant modern dining room, relaxed, informal. Tables very close and noisy but food above average and service very professional. Perfect pre opera spot but as I said it is noisy!

This is a superb restaurant that does not disappoint. From the moment you enter the establishment, you are greeted with friendly and courteous staff who greet you and take care of anything you might need to store in the coatroom. There is a lovely bar area that is not noisy and that has an excellent, top shelf assortment of liquors. Harold has been our waiter, and he is outstanding. He guides us through the menus and the entire meal, and makes us feel most welcomed and important. We enjoy him so much that we will be asking for his tables from now on. The food is delicious and the presentation is lovely. The ambiance is elegant but not stuffy. This is now our 'go-to' restaurant in the Lincoln Center area!

Boulud Sud is an elegant, delicious choice for pre-Lincoln Center dining. The theme is Mediterranean as advertised, although the menu embraces Daniel Boulud’s French haute cuisine provenance at each turn. Three courses pre theater prix fixe for $65 is downright reasonable (in a town where there’s a lot of not-so-reasonable in the fine dining ranks). Plan to splurge on a glass or two of wine at $15 - 25/glass which the sommelier will happily pair for you if you’re lacking a wine game. Really nice choices from Southern Europe to Match the Mediterranean palate. Don’t miss the mezze. This is not your granddaddy’s falafel and babaganoush. It’s a delicate and wondrous starter. And if they’re offering black truffles, don’t hesitate to pay the very fair $26 supplement for the seasonal experience. I’m going back for white truffles in the Fall too and I’ll bet it’s some next-level fungus if the Winter offering is any indicator. Go to Boulud Sud.

Also the ceiling was all patched and it didn’t work well taken care of

This is proof restaurant week works. First came here a couple of years ago for promo lunch; have been back a number of times since. I like this place -- the friendly, though professional service; the no-rush atmosphere and, of course, the food. There's enough variety for most palates. We'll be back.

Absolutely amazing food.
-OCTOPUS À LA PLANCHA: Never experienced octopus with such a soft texture.
-SOUPE DE POISSON: Deep and well balanced flavoured bouillabaisse. The day's best choice, I guess.
-ZA'ATAR GRILLED MEDITERRANEAN SEA BASS: Very soft and marinated to just the optimal level. will choose the same main dish if I go there again.
-PATATAS BRAVAS: Sorry for the poor expression; tasted like chilly flavored potato chips and delicious.
-Truffle risotto: that was chef's special, not on the menu. Seemed plain but had rich and creamy flavor. Not a truffle oil or truffle salt, real truffle is ground in front of your eyes.
-Salad(can't remember the name): Normal one. Fresh.

Some say the portion of food is too small on their review, but we two people were full enough to skip the desserts(Or maybe we ordered too much).

The dinner was great, except the server was not very attentive.
I don't require servers to be smiley all the time, but he looked grumpy.
Whenever we made order, it seems like he didn't want to be bothered.
Maybe he was not in his best condition in that evening, but he laughed and made jokes with other tables.
I don't want to make every single uncomfortable experience a big deal and be a victim of racism, but some offences make me feel that way.

Had pre-theater dinner which is a $65 prix fixe menu. As such it's a bit limited, especially for a vegetarian but I've always loved this restaurant. I had a bland cauliflower soup, mezzaluna pasta which was cooked nicely but the quattro formaggio filling was reminiscent of nothing more than a bland baked brie. My husband had a tasty linguine appetizer and dover sole (+$25) which was excellent. We both had the chocolate gateaux dessert which was really tasteless. Coffee was delicious (and extra). Got stuck in traffic on the way and when I called someone would not promise to hold my table, which was disturbing but when we arrived everyone was as gracious as could be. Service is always excellent and I will go back - I think it was just an off day, or maybe my menu choices weren't optimal. So a little disappointing this time but will not give up on them!

Very good fixed price brunch - $28 for two courses. Cauliflower soup + salmon for me, salad and Moroccan Shakshuka for my wife. We thought everything was very tasty and well prepared. Great value. Room is classy and service is good (although some of the water pours didn't quite make it into the glass). Recommended.

One of the best dining experiences we have had in NYC. Arrived early on Saturday night (4:30) and we were welcomed to the bar where I had a memorable margarita and one with dinner as well. At 5:00 the friendly hostess immediately came over and showed us to our table. Our fabulous waiter Harold was already there waiting to tell us the specials of the day. He couldn't have been more helpful, lovely and attentive, giving us menu suggestions and checking on us throughout our meal. Our appetizers were divine- moroccan flat bread, a special tuna appetizer, and the hummus, babaganoush, and falafel. Our main was simply out of this world- the Dover Sole- prepared exquisitely with a delicious cauliflower side dish. Chocolate cake and date biscuit for dessert were incredible. We can't wait to return.

We love the food and the service. We requested Harold. This was the first time my husband ordered the steak and eggs. The eggs were over cooked and had no yolk for the potatoes. My husband ate one of the eggs while it was still hot. When Harold asked how everything was we told him about the eggs.

In fact a woman at the next table had the same dish and I pointed out that her eggs looked the way they were supposed to be.

Harold said he would speak to the chef. Perhaps he should have taken the egg that wasn’t eaten and replaced it with the properly cooked egg.

My husband ended up eating the overcooked egg but leftover all the potatoes because they were dry and there wasn’t any yolk to dip them on. He did enjoy the steak.

Harold did bring a dessert of mango sorbet courtesy of the chef but he would have been happier with eggs that were not over cooked.

I didn’t understand something on the price fix menu. I ordered a side item that I thought came with the lunch. When I got my bill they charged me for it. I didn’t eat it. I asked to have it taken off my bill and the manager refused to do it. I said I won’t come back then and he really didn’t seem to care. He refused to do it. I ordered the salmon and it was a small piece and over cooked. My fault I didn’t send it back. I spent $100 for lunch and the manager was rude.
