Boulud Sud
Another great meal before heading off to the opera. Our waiter and other staff were knowledgeable with quiet yet friendly service. I had the Chicken Tangine which is a favorite.
Great as usual
Was truly an amazing experience. Food was amazing. The octopus appetizer was so flavorful and tender. Scallop entre was delicious also and just the right size portions.
Sunday paella is a good value. Second time for us.
Friendly and helpful staff from the door through the dinner. Each course was exquisite (the octopus app is amazing; wagu short rib was beautiful and delish, the Za’atar sea bass delish; grapefruit dessert a sight to behold and enjoy). Cocktails were on point and the wine recommendations for the main dishes were welcome and tasty. Snag the pre-fixe menu to cut costs a bit, but enjoy either way
Everything about our Boulud Sud experience was amazing!! The server was superb... Beautiful, friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful and attentive! The sommelier was great! Helped pick the perfect wine and was very friendly, funny and attentive throughout the evening! But the best part... The food!! Exceptional!! The fettuccine with fresh shaved truffle appetizer, the sole and the sea bass were delicious!! And for dessert.. Trio of gelatos! The milk chocolate was like fine chocolate, the salted vanilla cream-SO good, and the espresso like no other! We will definitely return!! May thanks to everyone!
I love anything Boulud. You can count on quality and value. Service always excellent. My only complaint is that the menu hasn't essentially changed in years- except for the daily special.
Took my mom and the wife for brunch and it was a great experience! The food was awesome and the ambiance was great! It’s definitely a must for anyone.
This is the third time I have taken friends here for lunch or dinner. It’s grest place to meet and eat. Good food and the noise level is low so you can have a conversation. That’s hard to find in NYC.
Good Value for the money. Excellent service. Good choice for pre matinee dining at Lincoln Center
I’ve been to Boulud Sud a few times. I don’t know if they had an off night, but the food was not good for the price. It was mostly tasteless. Maybe their decreasing the quality of the food to feed the masses but we were very disappointed with our meal.
Was simply a great meal.
‘Had a valentine date recently. Extremely horrible experience. My wife’s steak which was tough and filled with lots of fibrous tissueS, which the general manager saw and agreed that indeed it was unacceptable. My wife tried to chew the steak to no end. When we complained about the steak, the waiter asked my wife if there was something in the menu that she would rather have, my wife said that all she wanted was to eat a decent steak and that she had lost her appetite. When asked for dessert, we said that we were not interested.
We were not charged for the dinner, if you could call it that, but our date, our entire night, was all ruined.
We are very disappointed. We will never go back.
I came in early for my 6pm reservation on 2/13. I sat at the far end of the bar and had a fantastic Manhattan before my guest arrived. I was nervous about the timing since we had a show to get to at 7:30 but our server said there was nothing to worry about. The food was perfect in portion size, not to large so that you feel sick later on. Everything about the dining experience was fantastic and I can’t wait to make this my pre theater restaurant!
Great food in all categories
Service good not great
Have been here several times and always enjoy it. However the service this time wasn’t as perfect as in the past. Pasta with truffles and dover sole were sublime👌
Was able to get in on spec because off season. Loved my scallops and the taramasalata with sensational cold thin sliced fried dill potato chips was exceptional. Service great. Was expensive but not so for good food in NY.
I felt a bit rushed by the service. We had an 8 pm booking and like to sit and enjoy our meal over 2-3 hours.
My only question Re the food is that it is a bit confused.
It professes to have Middle Eastern influences but with the Turkish inspired food then an overlay of pasta and mains of Italian, French and Middle Eastern it was confusing my pallet.
No question re great quality and freshness.
The Sunday paella special was fantastic. The waiters were very friendly and the whole night was very enjoyable.
Food was Amazing, as usual! We had a table guest with special dietary needs that were met with fabulous substitutes. However what was disappointing was the tables were so tight that I had to get out of & move my chair to allow room for another of our table guests to use the restroom. My chair was frequently bunked into by staff & diners alike. We had to request water refills several times. I’ve never had any of these issues before and was quite surprised. They really need to remove at least 2 tables. It dampened an otherwise culinary superlative dinner.
We arrived at a very busy moment but were greeted and shown to our lovely table without much of a wait. Wonderful cocktails, attentive service, great wine list. We shared a lamb flatbread that was so flavorful. Dinner was a wagyu beef and Long Island duck. Delicious!
Hats off to the chefs at Boulud Sud. We enjoyed another really fine dinner Sunday following a Chamber Music Society Concert
Excellent value for money- we had the prix fixe brunch on Sunday.
What a beautiful place with professional staff serving exceptional food and wine. This is s way to eat at a Daniel restaurant and notbreak the bank
As always, Boulud Sud was terrific—food was exceptional and service impeccable.
Very happy with the whole experience. Went with my girlfriend before a show, everything was smooth. Would absolutely recommend it
This is our second visit to Boulud Sud. this time we had the prix fixe pre-theatre three course meal. There were specials in addition to the printed menu so lots of choices. the food and service were outstanding. I had a special appetitizing which was a salmon tartare. I had the seabass for my main course. We never felt rushed but also felt that the staff were aware of our timing requirements. Loved everything about the dinner. Looking forward to returning.
I was not impressed, but my companions enjoyed thier salads and shakshuka. For my part, the octopus was tough and dry, and the dorade was quite ordinary. This all might have been fine if the waiter was not so unfriendly and sneering as he practically rolled his eyes and frowned at our questions about the menu and our orders. The front of house staff was very warm and accommodating. Overall I would say it was "OK," but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again or suggest it to friends.
Yes, it' . Service is great, wine is excellent as well.
Went for Resturant Week and had a lovely dinner. The staff was very attentive and did not rush us. Was a nice touch with desert to write name of friend for her birthday.
Poor experience. Service, value poor. I specified a special occasion and was seated by kitchen, ignored for some time after being seated. I will not return or recommend.
this is our second time dining at Boulud Sud it was everything we hoped for. Excellent food and service. I wish I could remember the name of our waiter because he was just outstanding and we knew he wanted to please us and wanted to be certain our dining experience was superb.
I look forward to a return trip.
This restaurant is great and consisten in its great food and service. I advise to take note of the wines they serve as part of restaurant week as they are very good and very affordable in shops. Especially the white one.
Good quantities for restaurant week offer.
I recommend

Our neighborhood go to. It's a very pretty dining room although when crowded the noise level can be high. The Mediterranean Mix of humus and falafels is excellent - varied and textured. The cod was a bit overdone, the lamb good. The chocolate desert was excellent.
Came here for Winter 2019 restaurant week. The food was incredible and the service was excellent. Chose the braised lamb as an entree, which was extremely tender and delicious. The octopus appetizer was cooked perfectly - no chewiness at all. Highly recommend the coffee coconut malabi as a dessert option for anyone with a chocolate sweet tooth. Overall great dining experience.
Feb. 7, 2019. How do I love thee (Boulud Sud)?...let me count the ways: the cuisine is exceptional; the ambience is NYC sophisticated while being unpretentious; the entire staff is friendly and eager to please; the service is impeccable without being ostentatious or obsequious; etc! Now the particulars. We have dined here on quite a few occasions, some very special...this time was during Restaurant Week. Unlike many restaurants, Boulud Sud does not alter its 3-course prix fixe menu from its offerings during "normal weeks," except it is priced at $42, instead of $60s. On this occasion, I had potato-leek soup, merlu (cod?) with cauliflower and lentils(?), and a desert to die for: four different types of chocolate preparations, including the best chocolate ice cream ever. Is it possible to enjoy a complete dinner while in a dream-like state of contentment? Yes, at Boulud Sud! And, to add icing to a cake that needs no icing, managers Marcellin and Jon provided an amazing personal touch!!!
Always a lovely experience at Boulud Sud — innovative, well-prepared food, excellent service and we forgot it was Restaurant Week, so did the fantabulous $26 prix fixe. Doesn’t get much better than that!
The whole service is truly impressive: from the reception desk to the last minute at the restaurant. Specially the maitre d' hotel is extremelly professional and kind.
Maybe, rather than yes or no.. A very New York experience, in a public way, The room attempts intimacy but does not quite succeed. My companion was from Houston, former NYC resident, so it was good for her, having a NYC experience but the eating part, well, when food is this formalized, the ingredients need to always be beyond reproach, and this, I felt, was lacking. I miss BBD&O where that was never an issue.
Excellent in every way! Terrific food! We had the sea bass with dates, wheat berrys and excellent sauces for entrees. Couldn’t be better! Crude and soup appetizers- also terrific! And great desserts! The service was excellent too!
Overall- more than 5 stars!
Just as good the second time around. Unique bread plate.
