We’re more than oysters - we’re Colorado's best seafood restaurant! Opened 2017, this is Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood's flagship location.     We had a great experience at Blue Island Oyster Bar even though we are not a fan of oysters. We arrived around 5:30 to make sure we took advantage of happy hour, which was a great decision. The happy hour cocktails were perfect and we really enjoyed the ambiance on the patio. The salmon oscar and the sea scallops were both fantastic, very flavorful and well balanced. When I went indoors it did seem louder and the fishy smell was a bit strong... so I think the outdoor seating really saved the experience for us!

    Made reservation days in advance and confirmed more than 24 hours in advance, but when we arrived we were seated in the worst location of the entire restaurant - right at the front door at a table despite booths in the back being open. We didn't complain to the host, but I felt it was obvious we werent pleased and the host pretended not to notice. The server was not very kind and it felt like she was rushing us the entire evening. The ambiance was awful. It was so loud in the restaurant we couldn't even have a conversation. They tried to fit as many tables as possible in a small space with nothing between tables to break up the noise. Small portions for food and nothing was that great considering the price. They offer flat water but dont tell you its $10! Definitely will not be coming here again.

    It was our 35th wedding anniversary. We had a reservation for 7:00 and went there for their advertised steam lobster dinner. They were out of lobster. Basic bait and switch. We ordered something else and it never came after 40 minutes so we put cash on the table for our drinks and left. Server never came by. We will not be back.

    Went for the Lobster special night. Was seated in the back. Overall noise was high but the table next to us must have had two ladies that were hard of hearing because they yelled at each other the entire evening. Lobster was a skinny 1 lb fish. Taste good but had to work hard to remove the little meat in the claws and the tough meat from the tail.

    We frequently dine here when we want a seafood fix in a relaxed setting. It's also one of our favorite places to take family and friends when they visit from out of town. The food is consistently good, there's always a nice selection of oysters to choose from at the raw bar, and specials change regularly. Service is always good as well. It's always lively in the dining room which can make it challenging to have a quiet conversation over a long meal, but that isn't a complaint, just an important thing to consider when making a reservation.

    We looked at different places in Denver for a birthday celebration that offered oysters and decided to come here based on reviews and pictures. We drove up from Colorado Spings and found the parking in the area was not easy, but we eventually found a spot. We were greeted through the doors and seated immediately as we had a reservation. Our waitress, Ashleigh G, was very warm and personable. We laughed a lot with her, and she was very attentive, professional, and fun throughout our dining experience. We ordered some small plates as it was happy hour for 10 more minutes and ordered a couple of entrees. We had the deviled eggs, togorashi fries, roasted oysters, Thai calamari, and Brussel sprouts. My wife and daughter also had wine and a cocktail. Everything was very well dine, and the fries had a great zip of heat for fun. The calamari was very tender and great, sweet, and spicy flavored. The oysters were a bit small, but what did I expect for Colorado. They tasted very good, though. My wife also had the knuckle sandwich, and my daughter had the salmon slider. Both were done well and very tasty. We topped our meal off with the olive cake and key lime pie. The olive cake is very DELICIOUS. All in all, we had a very good dinner with great food and excellent service from Ashleigh. We will return when we go to Denver again.

    Isabella and Jenny made sure we had an amazing experience. We love coming here! Also highly recommend going on Mondays when they have 99 cent oysters and other fun deals. This place is always packed so recommend getting a reservation. And if you need it to be quiet, recommend sitting outside. This is the BEST all round seafood restaurant in Denver without a doubt

    “Chilean Sea Bass” was overcooked served on cold farrow. Scallops and oysters were outstanding as was octopus. 3.99% surcharge is an insult. Pay your people, charge for your food.

    Had a nice lunch. Entrees ordered were fried shrimp, salmon kale salad, miso bowl, fish sandwich, chowder and a fish slider. They were all delicious and very sizable.

    Went for the first time on Monday night. $0.99 oysters were limited to a specific kind, which is fine but they wouldn’t let us order more than a dozen at a time for the entire table. Oysters were small (some only the size of a dime) and had lots of loose shell pieces. Drinks were somewhat watery (Vodka martinis and Elderflower Basil martinis). Two dozen oysters at 99 cents, 2 HH priced drinks and 4 more drinks at regular prices were still $150 before tip. Good location but not great value for money.

    The freshest oysters in Denver and the Monday, ninety-nine cents oysters, are great. Isabel remains, the most friendly, beautiful hostess in Cherry Creek and always greets you with a smile, that sets the tone for a innovative meal or happy hour. Brandon took care of us and a glass was never empty. We find the Blue Island team to always be helpful, making it a pleasure to be a diner for lunch, dinner or the best happy hour in Cherry Creek.

    If you like seafood, this is the best seafood happy hour with amazing oysters. The service is fantastic and the woman who owns the place is so sweet and cares a lot about her customers. Took my friend for her birthday and they gave us a free birthday dessert. Love it here!
