We’re more than oysters - we’re Colorado's best seafood restaurant! Opened 2017, this is Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood's flagship location. Our approach is to create honest food and drinks and serve them in a comfortable, casual environment. Shuck Mondays is a tradition within my social circle. So any opportunity I get to bring new people in, I'm excited to share how great this place is. Unfortunately, our server was either lacking actually wanting to serve us given we were 7 people, or just uneducated about the restaurant overall. She claimed we could only have one tray of oysters and then refused to help split the oysters among us, given we had 5 trays overall. The food is spectacular, and I'm hoping who ever goes next doesn't have a run-in with the waitress we did.

Some of the best pasta I’ve had. The service was super friendly and the food was fresh and delicious! The lobster roll was so full of lobster meat and the clam linguini was some of the best I have ever had. Don’t forget to grab a espresso martini after, exceptional!

Best place in Denver for oysters any day of the week! Every Monday, Shuckers’ Choice oysters are 99 cents! No wonder so many regulars are there! Good happy hour discounts on wine, too! Best seafood happy hour in Denver. Love the salmon slider, the shrimp taco, the fish taco, etc. The servers are great. Fun atmosphere; you’ll be back on a regular basis— like us!

I went last night and got seated around 10pm. I had reservation for 4 people. There was 2 of us there and my friends was 2 minutes behind. I asked if the server if they can place 3 dozen of oysters for happy hour and knew denied and was told they can only do 2. We order 2 beers and 2 dozen oysters. The server gave us our check and didn’t want for us to leave before picking up the ticket bill. I wasn’t not content with being denied 2 dozens and tip 10% because the last reservation for was 10pm. I’m not sure if the shucker didn’t want to shuck anymore oysters. I understand last call for kitchen was 10pm but oysters doesn’t require using the kitchen for hot items. What was more frustrating, my friend came back from the restroom hearing the server gossip with the other staff after she picked up the recipe with the total tip and bill around 1045pm while we were still sitting there. My friend was wearing a Be a Good Person shirt and the server came back after seeing the tip and said Be a good person in a rude tone and told that to my friend as well on the way back from the restroom. What’s the point of having a 10pm reservation on open table when you’re not going to accommodate the number of guests showing up. 2 dozen of of oysters for 4 people is not satisfying. I may not have made the server night with the minimum tip but service reflects the tip in my opinion.

Our waiter was great food nothing to brag about prices are outrageous for what you get especially, I probably wouldn’t recommend this place unless you have money to blow. If my husband had eaten here he would have stopped at McDonald’s on the way home.

Our wait person Ben was terrific. Very personable, warm and great representative of the restaurant. Ben was the consummate professional. One of our party had a situation with her meal, and Ben promptly handled the situation admirably, and had a replacement dish to her so fast that she thought it was some else's plate. Lol. Blue Island Oyster Bar is one of our favorite dining experiences in Denver. The food is consistently excellent, served by cheerful waitstaff, and reasonably priced. We particularly enjoy the happy hour menu which permits tasting at a reasonable price. All seafood is incredibly fresh, especially the oysters, home grown in beds owned by the restaurant.

Our meal was excellent but what made our experience better was the amazing attentive hostess. We asked for a booth or a table outside and she offered us both upon arrival and when the weather changed as we sat outside, she came by and offered us to move inside

The food was average, I ordered oysters, and we got an oyster that had no meat in it, and were told that oysters vary in size. Of course, we know they vary in size, but you could also match out oysters of similar sizes instead of giving us one, full-size oyster, and another oyster with barely any meat in it. But the waitress went and retrieved two additional oysters, and that was nice. The potatoes came out very cold, with my salmon and crabcake Oscar. My wife got three tacos, and they were just OK. The place is fine, it’s nothing spectacular. Their prices are a little bit high, and a charge of 3.99% rate for their employees. I always have questions about that.

Overall I would say that the food here is good but not great. But then I'm not a big raw oyster fan, and this is what the restaurant specializes in. The calamari was good, not great. The tagarashi fries were good, not great. The brownie sundae was good, not great. The clam chowder, on the other hand, was outstanding. And the service was great. Atmosphere was noisy and crowded.
