Great location, right near Power Plant and parking garages. We were seated right away and our server was very attentive and nice. Our orders were correct and the salads we had were filling and delicious. We also ordered the crab dip as an appetizer, which I thought was a little thin. Taste was good though, and I enjoyed the warm pita bread it was served with.

The service was fantastic as was the ambiance. I've eaten here several times, and the food is usually good to excellent. This time, my burger was over cooked (requested medium rare) came out with no pink at all. Not the end of the world. What really disappointment was that it was excessively salty. Add an unstable table and cutting board delivery and it was just hard to cut the salad without disturbing the others at my table. I recommend asking them to take it easy on the salt.

Honestly if entry & exit experience had been better, I probably would have given Blackwell 5 stars. Food was excellent. Service was generally attentive. We rolled in 45 minutes early for dinner to a nearly empty restaurant, which seemed to irritate the hostess who suggested we wait at the bar. Ignore the first and last experience— and you may have a winner here. No warm hellos or goodbyes here. Did I mention the food was fantastic?!!

The food was good, especially the fried green tomatoes. We had to send the food back because it was lukewarm. My grits were dried out and not creamy. I don’t think the syrup was 100% maple syrup as was stated by the waiter.

I read the reviews and really expected a phenomenal experience for my moms birthday dinner, I even noted on our reservation that it was for a birthday. The service was awful, we waited like 40 minutes between each time we saw our waiter and he was more attentive to the tables AROUND us than us, which to me seemed intentional. I shouldn’t have to get your attention several times if you are also checking on the tables around me? I didn’t even get to try the dessert or sing to my mom because we figured it would be an hour before we even got the dessert with how long the whole dinner took for everything. I was hoping the food would be better but my shrimp appetizer tasted better than my main dish? The mahi mahi tacos were not great, but my mom loved the southwest salad and the wing appetizers. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I hope their service improves.

Our reservation was for 4:30pm on a Saturday. The restaurant had a few tables with people but was mostly empty and we still had to wait for a table to be cleaned. We had one table setting even though reservation was for a party of two. Server never offered or came with a second table setting until we asked for one. Oyster appetizer was delicious. Hot wings were seasoned with Old Bay and were just meh. The broiled triad broiled entree (shrimp, crab cake and salmon) was okay at best. Mashed potatoes were puréed. Entire dish was too salty. No dessert drinks on the menu and limited dessert options. Server wasn’t good at her job but was friendly. We wont go back.

The worst service ever! My food took about 30 minutes to arrive which wasn’t bad in my eyes but the mimosas we ordered came 15 minutes after our food came out. So that means it took 45 minutes- 1 hour for one glass of mimosa! When I asked the waitress what was the problem she said she had to wash out glasses for the mimosa and the bar was backed up which is just ridiculous and I was able to see the bar from my seat and it was not backed up, in fact there were seats open at the bar. Me and the 2 tables best to mine said that we would never be back

We arrived at the hostess booth to be told that the restaurant was booked and it was reservation only. There were about 10 empty tables so we inquired about whether someone had missed their reservation and we were told no. It was 4:45pm. I stood in front of the hostess and booked a 5:00pm reservation and we were seated. Silly. Then we order crab dip. The crab had a bad odor. We know our crabs and we know when meat isn’t fresh. We sent it back and the waitress said the chef acknowledged that it was over cooked. Yah ok. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my friends had the Cajun pasta (which is the shrimp and grits with noodles not grits and chicken added). The flavors were good but I think there was way too much sausage and not enough sauce. The pasta was good. My other friend ordered short rib and it was over cooked and dry. Definitely not coming back. Food quality definitely went down hill and they obviously aren’t eager for customers if they have fake reserved tables.

This was my first experience dining at this restaurant and I was very pleased with the service, food, and cleanliness of the restaurant. The hosts greeted us immediately upon arrival and let us know what our options were in dining as we didn't have a reservation. Luckily, we were able to make a reservation and had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Strange that the restaurant required reservations that evening even though the restaurant was half empty. The server who waited on us was very attentive, the food came to our table fresh and to perfection. It was a lively atmosphere and I would definitely dine here again.

I had reservation for 6PM which I booked 3 weeks in advance and had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. One of the glasses at our table was dirty and the server did not change it after taking it away. Long Island iced tea was overpriced $25, and didn't taste good. Not sure if I'll return to Blackwall Hitch any time soon. I sure would love to be reimbursed half of what I paid for 2 people.

I enjoyed my meal during restaurant week at Blackwall Hitch... once it actually got there. We were seated and waited 25 minutes for a waiter to take our drinks order. Our reservation was at 4pm and we received our meal at 5:15. After finishing our dinner, we waited an additional 30 minutes for our dessert. On the bright side, our food was delicious.

Made a reservation just to be told there was no waiter for our table. We didn’t even get juice or any type of beverage besides the water the serve. The crab cake was not good but the fried calamari was good. The flatbread was okay. Would I return or recommend this location no. This place is over hyped and overpriced
