Blackfish - Conshohocken
Guests can enjoy a daily changing a la carte menu, as well as tasting menus ranging from five-to-seven courses.
Blackfish opened in 2006 and has since been named “Best Restaurant” in Philadelphia Magazine’s 2011 “50 Best Restaurants” issue, calling Blackfish “flat-out fantastic; sophisticated without being overbearingly avant-garde, pretty and fresh without being precious; the perfect restaurant of the moment.”
The food was beautiful and service excellent.
One of the best tastings they have had. Fabulous!!!
Very delicious food, excellent service, overall a great experience. Have already recommended Blackfish to friends.
Nancy and Kip was outstanding.Very attentive and professional. The smoked salmon dish is out of this world!
If you are looking for top quality food that is truly innovative and beautifully presented, an exceptionally well-trained and detailed wait staff, and a chic-but-casual atmosphere, then look no further. Blackfish is an absolute gem; i have not been so impressed by a restaurant in a long time.
We went for an Event Dinner - three courses of Duck - Excellent and a wonderful chocolate dessert !
The Event Dinners are always excellent and reasonably priced.
This place is fantastic. One of the best restaurants in Phila.
Servers were nice, but the kitchen was incredibly slow. We ordered the tasting menu and it took almost one hour for them to bring out the first dish, which was a piece of raw fish. From then on, 15 minutes or so between each course. The food was good, but did not merit the wait.
Have been here many times. Had a guest from San Francisco so someone who knows restaurants. We both had the duck tasting menu. It was excellent. Servers have been well taught not to clank things when busing. Never noisy, will cobtinue to return.
The duck tasting meal was outstanding. Both the food and the presentation were great.
ALWAYS VERY GOOD RECCOMEND THE CHICKEN AND DUCK ENTRES VERY FRIENDLY SERVICE
BYOB IS ALWAYS NICW
Great tasting menu!!!
We did the 3 course option. All of our guests enjoyed their choices and waiters were attentive. The group favorites were:
1st course - Salmon and poached egg
2nd course - Squid ink pasta (definitely try it) and gnocchi; pass on the risotto (it's bland)
3rd course - the Arctic char and the duck
Had dinner the other night to celebrate a life long friends' birthday… The trio of halibut was absolutely amazing, each course better than the next and it may have been my best meal there ever!
Terrific food. Great service- attentive without being intrusive. Handled an order mix up exactly as you'd expect a very good, experienced restaurant staff to do. Love that it's BYOB, allowing diners to bring more expensive favorite wines without driving the bill beyond affordability.
Everything was wonderful but the portions were a bit small
We will definitely return!
My 3rd time at Blackfish.Had a wonderful time.Food is always incredible! The smoked salmon dish is the best.
Always exceeds our expectations, from the service to the delicious and interesting cuisine.
We had the tasting menu for the table and the food was excellent and the meal wonderfully paced. I can't wait to back again!
I have dined at Blackfish many times over the past several years and it has never been less than Superb in every respect.
I love Blackfish. The food is always wonderful, and the service is so personal.
Everything was perfect the food was fantastic the service was exemplary it was wonderful
Love it. Food and service are lovely.
I often dine alone.sad that i had a bad experience when i went back for the 2nd time.server was not attentive neither were the manager.i felt very neglected.you would expect way more considering the price you pay.
This was our first time to Blackfish and it was amazing! Everything about it!
We will definitely be returning!!!
First visit and surely not the last. Food and service were impeccable! And, every table with a bottle of wine had its own ice bucket. A very nice touch!
Service was outstanding! Food was spectacular and it was an amazing experience.
too noisy, too cramped seating, tiny servings not much green to be seen on the menu or the plate
Blackfish is an outstanding BYOB. The food is phenomenal with so much flavor. Even things I never liked, such as beets were incredible. I've been there several times and never had something I didn't like. The servers are very professional and attentive. I highly recommend!
Nice variety of fresh seafood, beautifully plated. Honestly, everything could have used better seasoning.have been coming here for over 20 years. One of the less memorable experiences
As a former Chef, primarily of French Cuisine, I like to think I have some extra credibility with restaurant reviews. If I limited my review to 2 words it would “GET THERE!”
The servers were very attentive, but never intrusive. All plates were served simultaneously, which is rare nowadays. We received great advice from our primary server as to what to order for our party to share.
The food was excellent- all around. Every single dish, right through dessert.
I have not one negative comment. Get There!
We had an amazing meal....our first visit! It's just a bit pricy but I'll go back!
I love this place. But my chicken was overcooked...as was the bluefish.
the pasta was great and the soup was wonderful
Overall ambiance is great...but they must do something about the noise level. It's horrific. They kindly don't play music (thank god) but they need to install soundproofing.
This is THE BYOB destination in this area. The food is fantastic. Taste & presentation are top-notch. This is the place where you bring that really good bottle of wine that you've been saving.
We have been here several times, and the food is fabulous - a true foodie experience. On our most recent visit, however, despite having charming and attentive wait staff, the courses took FOREVER to come out, and then, inexplicably, would show up when we brought the delay to the servers' attention. Hopefully this was just a one-off experience as this is among the best quality food in the western suburbs.
Recent Friday night dinner and they had the Lobster Dinner Special still on the menu as they were snowed out on one of the days. For $49 it was really tough to beat. Start to finish every course was great. We’ve all had lobster ravioli that weren’t so swift, but not here as they were handmade with great care and it came thru. Just the right amount of food for everyone and the key lime tart for dessert was outstanding. Has to be top 5 in the burbs in my opinion and we are looking forward to our return!!
Delicious lobster-tasting menu. All four courses excellent.
First time at Blackfish and chose it to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. Our experience was wonderful from the service to the ambiance and ultimately the incredible food. Lea was our primary hostess and really set the tone for our evening. She was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and genuinely excited for our first time experience. We chose the 5 course chef menu and thoroughly enjoyed it! The portions were beautifully displayed and delicious.
Amazing flavor combinations. Wonderful ingredients. Very inventive preparations and presentation. Love this place!
Had a wonderful dinner! Opted for the five course tasting menu and couldn’t have been more pleased. Every course was a winner with twists on some old classics. An amuse bouchée of mushroom soup, Tuna tartar with Yuzu, smoked salmon with soft egg, chocolate pepperdelle with boar ragu, sea scallops ( which I am not usually a fan of but these were delicious), silky creme caramel, and a little filled doughnut with lemon curd. Service was attentive although dinner was slow to come out. Our server noticed what wine we had brought and let the kitchen know so our dinner would be compatible. It was a Saturday night and the place was packed. Noise level high. Will definitely be back!
