What Insiders Are Saying
For Italian in Los Angeles, it doesn't get any better than the Arts District's Bestia, This isn't dinner, it's an experience.
The waiter was very kind and evidently passionate about the food. He made a really great recommendation for what to eat and helped so much with addressing my allergies. Great place and delicious food! My favorite was the calamari alla plancha. You can also get a salumi board for 1-2 people instead of 3-4, which was so great since there was only me and a friend.
A great after work dinner with my lady. Stayed away from my usual (Bone Marrow) so the menu changed a bit. Back to the original so to speak so we let our server choose. Great meal from the radicchio salad, the pasta and the branzino was fab. Didn’t drink because of lent however beautiful evening lovely meal and my favorite restaurant
Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection. The lamb neck just fell right off the bone and the pastas were delicious. Bone marrow is a must have.
Food was fantastic. Lots of flavor. Fantastic pizzas sand homemade pastas. The ålace was extremely loud. Wewere given a bad table outside on the patio even though we booked 60 days in advance. It was very cold outside and there was a draft coming through the canopy
What a delicious hidden gem of a restaurant. Great service and great food. I would totally be back here in the future!
Great place with even better food just a lot of little kids crying. A restaurant like this should be adults only.
Food was good overall and ambiance is fun. Server was actually very attentive but she forgot to give us back our left over, had about $30 worth of left over. I guess they could’ve called but that didn’t happen - negligence is probably what happened. Besides that was a good dinner
Simply one of LA’s great fun place for foodies. This was our second time. Love this place! It is not quiet if that is what you are looking for. Very vibrant!
I love Bestia... always amazing and delicious
Bestia is a bustling, efficient masterpiece of a restaurant in an interesting location that serves amazing food and drink. The wait staff provides seamless service and the timing is spot on. It’s expectedly loud. Bravo!
After so many positive reviews, I was expecting to be underwhelmed. We were happy to discover that the food at Bestia was every bit as good as we'd been lead to believe. Everything we ordered was fantastic. That said, I have to say that the Calamari alla Plancha was the star of the evening, as was our waiter, Miguel. Miguel really helped us get the most out of the menu and gave us some useful tips for our next visit.
It's good to check out its hype but not like 'the best dining experience I've ever had' type.
Service is poor; that female server was literally smiling to everyone except us (I wonder if there are still people who discriminate for diff skin color but) and the food was salty overall. No thank you
Exceptional food and presentation. We continue to go back and the food never disappoints. Bestia use of fresh ingredients and care they take in making their food is noticeable. Great ambiance and wine menu.
Worth the wait and the price.
Amazing!! Everything was delicious. I will have the bone marrow and lamb belly every time.
Amazing as always! Food and service truly wonderful. One of my top restaurants
Bestia is always a treat. Went here on my birthday and immediately made a reservation for two months out. The food is always to die for, I never regret ordering anything here. Some of our favorites weren’t on the menu this time so we tried a new pasta with pesto and cherry tomatoes and it was truly amazing. We always can’t wait to come back!
OVERHYPED!! Food pretty average, had much better in other less trendy restaurants.
Noise level unbearable and seating uncomfortable.
We were curious to experience the rave about this place. I made a reservation for two people celebrating our anniversary five days prior to the event. We were only given a 9:30 p.m. and onward schedule from Tuesday up to Saturday. I got 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday anyway. We got to Bestia almost 45 minutes before our reservation. We were afraid to get caught up in any traffic or parking situation. We used Bestia's valet thinking the industrial area is quite sketchy to begin with. We were also afraid to miss our reservation time since they put it out there that they will give up our reservation if we are 15 minutes late. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and patiently waiting for our table. It was past 9:30 p.m. and we still did not have our table. I had to go to the reception and asked. They sent us back to the waiting area and was told the manager will see us. The manager showed up telling us they dont have any table available but a bar seating is available. At this time, we are already hungry and tired of waiting for a table so we took the bar seating. What is the use of making a reservation at a very late schedule if they will not be able to provide a decent seating to the customers especially those who are celebrating important occassions?
Extraordinary food, delightful service, beautiful space.
I luv luv this restaurant!! Drinks are amazing and so is the food minus less salt would be fantastic however I noticed portions are getting less and less every time we dine:(.
Staff is top notch.
Food was wonderful as always!!
Good food. Cheesecake Factory type of service. Very unfortunate bc it ruins the whole experience. Not worth the hype around it.
Made us wait 40 minutes after our reservation, then table service was rushed and robotic. Food was good not great. Don’t believe the hype
Gathering of 5 adults, we have all been here before. The menu seems less interesting. Many foods were very over salted, the whole fish was tasteless. A vegetable spinach/ kale appetizer was good, the pasta with crab nothing special. Overall, it seems to have gone downhill and the noise is deafening. Not likely to return.
Very creative dishes, small plates don't really fill you up but are highly entertaining to the palate.
I would have say that after booking our reservations nearly 2 months in advance, the wait was definitely worth it. My fiancée and I enjoyed one of our most impressive and spectacular meals together at Bestia. The food was incredible! The service was top-notch! We will definitely be back.
Amazing food and service. If you can get reservations you are in for a real treat!! Get the pork belly!!!!
It was my birthday, and the staff couldn’t have been made me feel more special. They even gave a booming rendition of “happy birthday to you”, which my whole family and I loved. The food, of course, was as off the charts amazing as it always is. Thank you for a truly memorable birthday dinner!
Still our fave for a date night, been going twice a year for a while now. Bestia never fails to please.
Loved it. Harrison was great. We're going back.
Delightful food with bursting flavors. A little rushed as we moved from one delicacy to another, but service is excellent!
Bestia is one of those restaurants you have to visit in your lifetime. The casual, laid-back Californian vibe, the delicious food, impeccable service, really what's not to love? I will however say that if you're looking for a quiet romantic dinner, this may not be the most suitable choice, but if you are looking for great food with good company, make this a must whether you live in LA or not.
I guess I'm not one of the Bestia groupies. It was good but not over the top great. Maybe the problem is that you need to go in a group to share plates as suggested by the server but 5 items for two people just didn't make sense. Three items plus two drinks came to $162 and I was still hungry.
Consistent and outstanding
Food is not the cheapest around, but you certainly get what you pay for.... got the lamb belly and spiced pork chop porterhouse which were both stunning. Delicious cocktails too and the setting has a cool indistrial/warehouse vibe. If you're expecting a more quiet/relaxed meal you may be left disappointed, was busy during our visit and a little loud with music playing too. Not a negative point necessarily, but it may not line up with expectations if you anticipate somewhere a little quieter. Would definitely recommend and would visit again.
