Everything was superb!
1. Reservation a must
2. Go with your gut & w/server’s guidance
3. Be hungry or order slowly, delicious food takes up as much space as just sustenance
4. Good ears? Enjoy, otherwise there are quiet seats that can spoil the hard of hearing
5. Staff, kitchen and front seemed to focus easily, hence I was always treated as the individual.
6. The best ingredients.
food was amazing - will be back soon. just which the seating area was more roomy and noise level a little bit softer.
One of my favorite restaurants! If you haven’t been here Get here
I come to bestia frequently with work associates. Tonight was one of those nights and it has been several months since I have been back due to really long work hours. Tonight was supposed to be special. A night to celebrate and laugh. Unfortunately the experience tonight at Bestia was awful. Very rushed and plate constantly being pulled with food still on them. Absolutely awful experience and the entire party felt the same and were disappointed. What the heck bestia? Not cool. A 630 reservation is just as important as an 830pm. Not cool. Super disappointed.
I don't know if it was the waiter or the late reservation. But, my experience on this restaurant it is really bad, since the beginning that we came in, the wasn't such as welcome or any attention for us. The waiter not even share any seasonal item or ask if was first time at this place. Seem like she was trying to push me to decide fast so she can go home or they can close early. I didn't get any recommendations, everything decided because I indagate from this business but, it is more the hipe , trendy and pretending to so everything perfect. But, there is a lot of black spots ( imperfections on services) on this location of business. I travel all the way to try this restaurant that I got recommend it, but not sure if I would go again. That is why I also cancel to.eat at Bavel (another sister restaurant) to not have such as bad experience. There is better places out there, why to get that behavior?? I hope this help to another future customers.
Food was good however The Service was not up to par.
It was my boyfriend’s birthday and we had been trying to get reservations here for months. We were very excited to finally obtain them on this special day and decided to invite his family. As soon as we arrived, the hostess wearing red glasses referred to his mother as an “abuelita” - there were no children with us. We were confused and frankly a bit insulted that she would refer to her as an abuelita when the only correlation seemed to be her age and Latina background; she’s not a grandmother. Trying to still make the most of it, we sat down to review the menus and were approached by a waitress who asked us what kind of water we’d have. One of our 6 party members requested coke instead, to which the waitress abruptly said, “You don’t want any water?”... as if we were idiots who didn’t know asking for a coke instead of water meant we would get coke instead of water.🙄 Nonetheless, we do have to acknowledge that the food was great and our busboy/server was spectacular. Sad to say we were very disappointed since we had heard such great things.
Just when I thought this was 2019 we manage to find that rare hidden gem - who think that it is completely acceptable to ignore all allergy discussions and insist you eat from their menu without any moderations at all
The ONLY meal that could be modified was rib eye @$135 where chef would be happy to miss all of the accompaniments - however to simply not put kale on the pizza was not possible (even though we offered to pay double for the privilege of missing one ingredient off )
Shame really as that one simply request would’ve made for a relaxed evening - years of being on edge eating out and all too often ending up at hospital leaves us very nervous - and Bestia did everything they could to bring that panic back to the surface - all because the chefs ego is clearly so much bigger than his care for the customers - so you are all pre prepared- chef won’t leave kale off the gorgonzola pizza because flavours then don’t work - hmmm - we scraped it all off hun !
Some staff seemed to see the amusing side of watching ALL of the kale be immediately scraped from the pizza - and only half of the (now only) pizza base get eaten - clearly proud to add to food waste for absolutely no reason
Rest of the meal - who knows?! Couldn’t wait to leave
Waitress sympathetic and tried to help - manager clearly scared of the chef ... and the chef ... look forward to chatting to you when this goes seriously wrong and you ignore yet another customer with simple requests (based on 23 years of medica history ) that changes night from an absolute nightmare to an enjoyable evening
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.
The food was spectacular. The bone marrow was a novel yet winning presentation. Excellent service but a special nod to Christian for his amazing wine recommendations. We’ll be back!
Food was good and ambiance was nice. However, I would not return nor would I recommend due to the horrible customer service by our waitress.
Great food and great service!
Always a great time here with great food
Worth going. Pricey, but the overall I thought it was worth it
Crab crostini is to die for but there are limited vegetarian options
Attentive, professional, warm service by entire staff amidst an unpretentious, casual atmosphere with vibrant music & exceptional food. Desserts are divine. Can't wait to be back!
We met friends for dinner. Everyone was very happy
The sommelier was spot on with our wine preferences, and also gave us choices and his own recco, which made our decision easy to make. Decanting and presentation in tall 24" decanter is superb!
Despite the popularity of the restaurant with the crowds, the tables are large and spaced out which i liked, unlike many other restaurants.
Food was terrific, pizza, pasta, whole fish.
would have been better if they served the fish as fire ti each person,
Still good food..excellent service..prices have gone up like anywhere..now they charge for "still water"?..I will still go back..always a good time..Sit outside to avoid the noise level
Chef's specialty is pasta.. definitely beg to differ. But don't believe... Go and spend $150 to find out
The food was delicious. The bone marrow dish was amazing. The only thing I didn’t like was how loud it was in the restaurant. The service was excellent.
We went to Bestia to celebrate both my birthday and my sister in-law’s birthday. I specifically mentioned that it was for a Birthday celebration when I made the reservation. The food was amazing and delicious. My brother in-law asked our waiter if they can provide a dessert with candles for us. He presented us an empty plate with only candles. That was very humiliating and embarrassing. Since we didn’t order dessert he just provided us an empty plate. He could’ve kindly told my brother in-law that they don’t provide a complimentary birthday dessert and in that case we could’ve ordered one. Some restaurants just offer a complimentary scoop of ice cream or dollop of whip cream with candles. We would’ve been fine with that. Overall the ending to our dinner was quite disappointing.
Probably the best pizza in LA thus far. It's hard to move past the mussels and clams combo with the pizza but everything here is always incredible. Great place for that extra special date night or celebration with friends. Be sure to try to get some seats next to the pizza oven to watch where most of the magic happens!
This was our second visit to Bestia. I had such a great experience the first time, I think my expectations were a bit high. The second time around I felt a little rushed. Our server was done for the night, and the person who took over was a bit hasty, even tho the place did not look busy. We picked the counter seat, it was interesting to see what was being prepared and arranged. The food preppers (chefs in making) were a bit loud, their rancor was all I could hear. They did not even acknowledge us. The food was good, bone marrow was delicious, as was the pork belly, cavatelli pasta. Overall, it was okay-ish.
By far the best food in LA!!
Great food, warm friendly service. Only 1 complaint, we felt rushed, food came so fast, we could have been in and out in an hour. It’s a special meal that deserves a slower pace. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Such great food! Every dish was superb. Gracious hospitality and fun atmosphere. Loved it!
Great service, great food
Simply the best!
Food was very good, fresh and innovative. Aside from the usual astronomical price of alcohol, there were a couple of price issues that bothered us: We asked for tap water and there was a $1 charge per person added to the bill. While the service was excellent, the server did not make this clear. Is Bestia really charging for tap water? Talk about price gauging along with two slices of bread, even if made in house, that cost $6. With only one drink each for a party of 4 and a fairly modest amount of food, the bill came to $300 not including gratuity. At these prices we think Bestia could throw in bread and water.
Amazing food! Service is a little bit slow but very friendly, parking is difficult. Our party had to wait even though we had reservations, but the food was worth it. Wish they sold their ice cream in cartons!
Don’t even hesitate to order the bone marrow with spinach pasta...hands down the best dish we had!
Everything was a hit. We were moderately hungry, ordered 4 dishes, and had leftovers (but who doesn’t want extra lamb neck meat for sandwiches the next day!)
Delicious food! Great server - so detailed and attentive
