Got a notice we were’ no shows’. SO not true. Rude email. That said, service was amazing. Stephanie especially. ❤️. This email insult 😒
Very good food. Salmon piece was small but quite tasty. Grilled carrots also wonderful, as was the corn & mushrooms appetizer, which my daughter rated about. Mussels were very good and the broth great for dipping bread. Our waiter was a delightful young man with funky black glasses and lots of personality. Never got his name. The only real negative was a very high noise level, something a lot of places deal with.
Great find for neighborhood folk as well as travellers. [FANTASTIC fries and golden yukons... crispy on the outside, fluffy and dry on the inside... perfection]!
High marks all around. Also, a very reasonable Happy Hour from 4 PM until 5:30 PM.
Grade: A-/B+. Solid as brunch gets in Seattle. Not as extensive of a menu (and not organic/vegan/farm-to-table hippy, granola Seattle), but similar to Portage Bay Cafe, but better and with a NYC/East Coast brunch feel. Had the 1.) ricotta pancakes, 2.) steak and eggs 3.) cinnamon roll and 4.) the burger. The burger and ricotta pancakes hit the spot and would recommend!
Fantastic, thoughtful service. Lovely, bright space.
Superb food! Energetic waiter!
It’s fine. The food is actually the best part. We really enjoyed the fried chicken, hush puppies and cauliflower Caesar. The risotto had good intentions, but the rice wasn’t properly cooked, so it was dry instead of creamy. Most lacking, the ambiance. We entered at 8pm (earliest we could get a rez) to a half full and overly bright dining room. Our waitress was attentive, but possibly too attentive as she admitted we were her last table. Still not sure why we couldn’t get a rez until 8 considering it was only about 1/2 full. So overall, I’m not sure why it’s getting so much attention. It’s good enough, but there are so many better restaurants in Seattle. Maybe I’ll try it again as a lunch spot where it might be better suited.
We live in downtown and generally avoid the hotel-based restaurants for fear that they only cater to tourists with mediocre food and service. Boy were we surprised by Ben Paris! The service we experienced was amazing thanks to our server Angela and the other woman who filled our water glasses and got us started on some cocktails (forgot her name but she was awesome!). They were both attentive throughout our meal without being overbearing. We started with the cauliflower caesar and grilled octopus--both delicious! Best grill octopus that we have had in quite some time! For entrees we had the steak and crab cake special and king salmon, both cooked perfectly. Lots of tables around us ordered the fried chicken and it looked really good. We will definitely try that next time. We decided to stroll through the small, adjacent hotel lobby on our way out and learned that you could sit in the lobby and order drinks and even dinner from the bar/restaurant. We will definitely do this the next time we want a little more quiet and cozy atmosphere for a change. All in all, a great overall dining experience!
The food is just OK. Kind of like bar food.
Loved the French toast it was just what I expected
Food and service was very good. Noise level very high, hard to have a conversation.
Great spot with awesome ambiance. The food and drinks are great, plus awesome bar and wall mural.
The water was hot, the coffee was cold, the food was unremarkable, and the valet took over 20 minutes to park my car. Cocktails were the best part of the evening.
Great timing for lunch - food came out fast and tasty! Service has room for improvement - server missed our fry order and never followed up to see how our meal was or if anything was missing.
This was our first visit. We enjoyed the meal very much... creative, fresh and tasty, well-presented. Staff were friendly and service was very good. Prices for lunch were very good. It was a little noisy, making conversation a little difficult but not unmanageable. Nice wine and spirits offerings. We'll come back to try dinner.
We like to have Sunday brunch as our Seahawks tailgate and enjoy good eats and drinks. Ben Paris popped up on a Seattle brunch search and didn't disappoint. Meat dishes, vegetarian, dishes, and plenty of sweeter options along with excellent cocktails.
The service was solid and we were in an out in less than an hour.
The food was spectacular! We had a french toast with caramel and chocolate, and the chorizo hash.
Also like the old hotel vibe.
Thanks for the awesome review, Brian! We look forward to many more "tailgates"! Go Hawks!
Cocktails were excellent, food was amazing. Staff was very attentive.
Thanks for the great review! Come back and see us again soon!
We had a great experience and loved our server, Angela!
Excellent restaurant and while new, is really hitting on all cylinders with the food and service.
Thanks for the kind words, Dan! We love what we do!
A great new downtown restaurant with a big-city vibe. Love that it is named after an original restauranteur Ben Paris, so the history connection is interesting and valuable for our city. Went there with a friend for Sunday breakfast. Loved everything about it, though I must admit that though I'm never one to leave potatoes on my plate, I did leave one piece of the heavenly baked then deep-fried potatoes that came with my breakfast...just very rich. But would I order again? Absolutely. Service was lovely.
We're so glad you had a great time, Chris. And we're really glad you appreciate the historical connection of Ben Paris! We look forward to seeing you in again soon!
Brunch was delicious and the service was friendly and pleasant! Highly recommend!
Our waitress was very professional and helpful. He was very helpful in answering the questions for recommendations. He had black short hair.
Thanks for the kind words, Melissado!
Mediocre and below burger, overpriced drinks, lackluster service. Will not be going back.
Love this new downtown spot. Bright and airy, with a terrific Happy Hour food and drink menu. Great value.
We're glad you enjoyed it! Come see us again soon!
The food was great. The kitchen took a while to get our orders out, and without us asking, our wonderful server offered to cover some of the items on the menu without any kind of prompt at the end of the meal.
Very slow server. Service was fine when actually present. French press was filled with coffee grinds above filter.
Excellent food and service with a great vibe.
Thanks for the great review! Come back and see us again soon!
Ben Paris is my new favorite weekend brunch spot. The food and drinks were unbelievably delicious and not overpriced. The atmosphere was cute and perfect for a morning downtown.
Thanks for the awesome review! We hope to see you in again soon!
Can’t recommend this place enough! The food, atmosphere, and especially the cocktails were incredible. Will be coming back soon.
Thanks for the kind review! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, the house made complimentary after dinner chocolate was for sure the best confection I've ever consumed.
My sister loved that her drink came in a copper Bird.
I hear the brunch is stellar.
Service was adequate but a bit careless and pretentious. Only brought one soon with dessert, did not return with leftovers after packing... It was late though & she may have just got a wall. They did an event at pike place so it may have been a tough day.
Dear julieb, I'm so glad you loved the food and atmosphere! It sounds like the service tripped toward the end and we apologize for that. Thanks for the feedback and we hope to see you in again soon!
When we got there we were treated like it didn't matter if we had a reso or not, back of the line. Waited about 10 mins for a table and it wasn't clear who was running the show. Our waitress was a breathe of fresh air, super friendly. Everything tasted delicious from the food and coffee menu. We were never given a drink menu and only got thinking about one once we saw some colorful cocktails passing by. The drink menu looked tasty although the flavors were a little intense and overpriced for what they were. Might try it again, may be for dinner.
Excellent food. Went there for a breakfast meeting with a potential employer and the food was superb, the service was attentive, and it was right across the street from the West Edge Garage which made it very sinmple for both of us.
We're so glad you enjoyed everything, Brad! Thanks for the great review!
Great food, terrible atmosphere sums it up. Creative and delicious cocktails and very, very good food. Unfortunately the space really detracts from the overall experience. It's cavernous, very noisy, and feels like eating in a high school cafeteria. The physical space does a real disservice to the terrific chefs and servers.
Food and cocktails were delicious! Great ambiance with a polite and knowledgeable staff. Our only complaint was that we were seated VERY close to the tables next to ours (as in my petite friend had so squeeze between two tables to sit down). Luckily the people seated next to us were very friendly. Would definitely go back!
On a Sinday morning we had to wait about 15 minutes for our table even tho we had reservations! But after that we were served promptly and the food and drinks were delicious!
The Ricotta pancakes were amazing. Great service and nice atmosphere.
The Ricotta pancakes are one of our favorites too! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit. Come see us again soon!
The waitress was amazing
So glad you had a great time. Thanks for the kind review!
We had a great waiter. This place is really loud, it was difficult to have a conversation even for a weekday lunch. The menu has a lot of meat, not to many healthy alternatives
I adore this restaurant and have now eaten there/done happy hour several times. The host and wait staff are lovely and friendly, the food is delicious (I highly recommend the hush puppies), the drinks are great and they do a nice happy hour. The ambience is great-- and that mural! Lastly, I'm still so thrilled that someone took that beautiful, dilapidated old building and transformed it into something wonderful.
It really warms our heart that you love Ben Paris as much as we do, Traci! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Good food. Ample portions. Very noisy at lunch time. No carpet and very high, beautiful ceilings absorb NO noise. That’s the only drawback.
Thanks for the feedback, Linda! We're so glad you loved the food. We hope to have you back in again soon!
