I think our server was having a bad day. It happens. Other staff was very kind. Volume was weird one minute it was cranked next it was comfortable level. Not ideal when the person on the other side of the table can’t hear you.

Sunday brunch at 11am and the restaurant was surprisingly uncrowded which, upon reflection, was unusual given Vancouver’s appetite for brunch and the overall excellent quality of the food and service. The menu struck me as gluttonous but the food was balanced and fresh and delicious. Portion sizes were not over the top so great food that erred on the side of rich ended up being the perfect size. I will go back to try more of these dishes.

My boyfriend got their first but it Took quite a while before anyone came over to take his drink order, and then I came and we had to flag someone down we couldn’t tell who the servers were, and there was a slightly unfriendly girl, but they were very busy because there was football on. It was really fun, the guy Servers were really friendly Food was great and we had a perfect table just like I requested. Overall it was good but they better be ready for Super Bowl lol

The food and bar were fine. The issue is that I reserved with OpenTable (while making a donation) a couple of hours prior to going. There was no reservation when I got there. They said I reserved for a different location but the confirmation said the correct location. I don't mind the donation and we only had to wait a few minutes but it was annoying being told that it was my error.

I had the pulled pork sandwich, salad and beer. I couldn't eat it all - quite large sandwich serving. Beer was tasty. I'll be back.

Bells and Whistles makes you pay for reserved seating. We really wanted a table for the special Farmhouse Fest preview tasting on August 5, so we paid the fee. After we arrived, we were informed that the event was delayed until the next day. So, we were charged for a table we didn’t need in the end, and we didn’t get access to the special beers that were promised, and we didn’t get a refund for the booking fee.

The food was good aside from very soggy buns...but the soft serve ice cream is to DIE for and made up for it! The service was fantastic and the games keep the kids occupied. Also this looks like a great spot to watch a game! We'll definitely be back.

Love the food and the excellent service. The only drawback to eating here is conversation is almost impossible. This place Desperately needs to invest in some acoustic sound treatments. I couldn't hear a member of our party across the table at times.

Very nice boutique hamburger and sandwich restaurant with a good brew menu. There are some unusual menu items that make interesting. There is a mixture of families and groups so it is a bit noisier. The decor is almost a bit patio inside and of course outside with picnic like tables. The games section looked fun but we didn't try it. The royal burger was very good as burgers go and the fries were excellent. It may sound odd to say but the potatoes used for the fries seemed more substantial that other restaurants and as such more satisfying. Thry have some fun menu items like soft serve ice cream with pick you own toppings. We thought the drinks menu was a little on the higher priced side for a neighborhood restaurant. We would definitely recommend this casual restaurant.

Awesome experience and great value for Dine Out! Our server was a bit eager to bus our table, but overall, they were very attentive and kind. This is our second year doing Dine Out at Bells and Whistles and it won’t be our last time there!

Our server was pleasant enough but definitely not accurate. Forgot to punch in my drink order and I never got my drink. There was at least another female server working and boy did she have an attitude and air about her when I asked for directions to the washroom. You work in the service industry. Be polite. Overall the restaurant seemed clean, it is new. Looks like it would be a fun place to go with a larger group. There are some games off to one side of the restaurant. It is in a hipster neighbourhood so don't expect 5 star service.

Food is nothing special. You don’t go here for amazing food. You go for the social aspect of hanging out with people over their drinks. It’s essential bar/pub food/sports bar. Come here for drinks especially, Beer and if you are hungry order food but with most expectations. Staff are friendly and efficient but in terms of a food rating...it’s not a foodie destination and nothing to write home about.

This is a great place. We were with teenagers, which had two consequences: 1. We had to stay in the non-bar part of the restaurant. The atmosphere there is a bit diner-ish, which is ok, but the bar area is nicer, more sophisticated. 2. The price-quantity ratio of the food is not great for people with metabolisms that naturally burn 2500+ calories. Teenagers won't get a lot to eat for $15-16 sandwiches, burgers, mains, etc. It'd be nice if some restaurants calibrated serving size by age and gender. Yes, that amounts to discrimination, but the result is satisfied customers and less food waste. (The serving size of fried chicken poutine ($15) that was inadequate for me and my teenage sons would have been way too much for my 75-year-old parents!)
