Passion for food and love of all things Italian is what inspired Basil & Vine Café.
The Fargnoli family believe food is central to our Italian way of life and large family meals are customary in our household - Meals are relaxed affairs enjoying each other’s company and the sense of community.
Traditionally Italian dishes are made with simple ingredients that can be made or procured inexpensively such as pasta, bread, cheese, olive oil and tomatoes. Italian cuisine is all about using quality ingredients well and not so much about fancy cooking techniques.

    Nice venue, however was left wanting from the food, value for money and parts of the service. I had heard good things about this business however I wasn’t impressed unfortunately.

    From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the restaurant's elegant décor and inviting atmosphere. Every detail, from the stylish interior design to the warm lighting and comfortable setting. The service was equally exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was seamless. The food was simply outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The ingredients were fresh, the portions generous, and the quality evident in every bite. From the appetisers to the desserts, everything exceeded expectations. It is a perfect place for a special occasion or simply an enjoyable meal out. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon.

    poor experience, yesterday, I brought my mum for her birthday. We had to wait for more than 10 minutes for basic water to be served after the order was taken which also needed an initial 10 minutes after our arrival. No mention of the special occasion, why the need for the same to be included in the booking I wonder. I remember our last experience at another restaurant where a little gesture by the caterers made the occasion so special, and brought a smile to everyone on the table. Too casual overall.

    The restaurant ambiance was great. Excellent hospitality from the staff. Personal welcome using our name and we were escorted to our table. Server introduced himself also. The food was disappointing. We ordered the focaccia as a starter. This was flat, hard and not like a focaccia at all. Next to no flavour either. We also ordered the Pasta Siciliana . This was served barely warm. It had spring onions which was unusual. The menu referred to parsley, although we couldn’t find any. We also ordered the IlMare pizza. This tasted nice. The base though was tough and not like an Italian pizza. It was more like a store bought pizza base. Overall we expected more from the food. We were disappointed for sure. It was our first time, so we have nothing to compare it too. Therefore we’re unsure if this experience is a one off or consistent.
